Ubisoft pumps out at least one of the Assassin Creed games a year, and they still sell really well. I recently bought Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag and the game is okay but it feels the exact same as Assassin's Creed 2. Nothing much to look forward to, and nothing that different out of the ordinary. It's a decent game, but it doesn't get me on the edge of my seat like other good games do. There is always so much hype built up for these games and imo most of the time they're just average.

What, to you, are some of the most overrated series of all time? What do you think of series like Assassin's Creed and Call of Duty which produce a new game every year. Do you think the companies are sloppy and just wanna milk in the cash? Despite a yearly game, these are two of the most sold games every year.

I'm not a follower of either of those series but I have played them and I have friends that are fans. From what I understand they tend to follow working formulas and make minor changes. A lot of series actually do this and usually only fans of the games will notice and appreciate the difference, Pokemon is one of the biggest example of this. I for one am a fan of the Dynasty Warriors series and people always criticise them for being the same every installment but I can make a huge list of things that make them different but non-fans will never care about those things. That's just my opinion on the games like Assassin's Creed and Call of Duty that keep getting releases.

I always thought Kingdom Hearts was one of the most overrated series. I grew up with them and have played all of them, I would even put the original Kingdom Hearts in my top 10 games list but I just never understood the love for the series as a whole. They keep dragging out the games by pushing many spin-offs on different consoles just to make it more difficult to get your hands on them. Even though the third installment was announced to be in development they soon announced that Kingdom Hearts 2.9 will come out first and then soon announced a 2.8. A lot of these games just rehash the levels from the first game and they keep intentionally going back and forth on the quality of the game. Please don't interpret this as me hating Kingdom Hearts because I don't and I actually enjoy the games and look forward to the new releases but I definitely feel like there's a very large group of people that treat this series as the holy grail of video games.

When it comes to game series that I think are overrated, I think Fifa and Madden are two of them.

The only one ive played is Black Flag and by played, I mean the first 30 mins before I got bored.
The first couple of games looked cool but never had a console to play them.

My issue with ubisoft games is they all feel pretty much the same with a different skin slapped on. The story writing is bland and (dont know about AC) but Far Cry and watch dogs used the pretty much exact same Radio Tower unlock thing and outpost stuff. They just don't do anything to be considered great.

Assassin's Creed... perhaps. I tried to play the first one, realized it was a stealth game, I suck at stealth, I gave up.

Kingdom Hearts is another, but I'm no fan of Disney and I fail to see what's so appealing about the games. It's a RPG with Disney characters... I love RPGs, I can't stand Disney's characters. It's a game I feel is totally overrated, but I'm very biaised.

Any sports game made by Take Two. The differences between NBA 2k12 and NBA 2k13 (the ones I too much experience with) were pretty much related to the roster... which could be nearly fixed with updates and some DLC. Gameplay barely changes, they always use the same 100 menus with the same layout. I touched WWE 2k16 and it felt the exact same, just with WWE instead of NBA, but WWE had awful controls.

There is no knowledge that is not power.
