Which of the various alternate designs of Pikachu is your favourite?

Out of the cosplay Pikachus, I would have to say Pikachu Ph. D! It has such a dorky outfit and just imagining a Pikachu writing a thesis and doing quantum physics or other complex work is great. I also really like the Pikachu design in Smash where it was wearing goggles, if that counts!

What is your opinion of Pikachu as a mascot for the series? Is there another Pokemon you would have chosen from the first generation to fill this role instead?

I think Pikachu's perfect for the series! I wouldn't have minded another cute pokemon being the mascot though? Eevee, Clefairy, Poliwag, Growlithe... there are a lot of other good choices but I still think I'd prefer Pikachu over all of them.

Have you ever met someone who doesn't know what a Pikachu is?

My grandparents and a few of my other older relatives! Pikachu's an iconic figure though, so I'm not surprised that most people have a vague idea of what it is.

121 - STARMIE

Its central core glows with the seven colors of the rainbow. Some people value the core as a gem.”

Damn you, Misty. Today's Pokemon of the Day is Starmie! A mysterious star-shaped Pokemon with the ability to fly through the air like a spinning disc, Starmie is one of a handful of Pokemon that evolves through use of Water Stone, which made it unobtainable in the wild until the fifth generation, where it suddenly started appearing on higher level routes. It's typing and varied movepool have made it a favoured Pokemon in competitive battling for several generations now, especially as a Rapid Spin user. In the anime, Starmie was mostly seen under the control of Misty as one of her stronger Pokemon, and the only one that was fully evolved for some time. It was also used by Gym Leader Rudy against Ash in the Orange Islands arc.

Share your opinion, memories, and experiences of Starmie! As well as the general questions in the first post of this topic, here are some fun things to think about:
  • How much trouble did Misty's Starmie give you in the Generation I games and their remakes?
  • Some people believe that Starmie is an extraterrestrial Pokemon, because of its habit of sending transmissions skyward. What do YOU think? Who do you think Starmie is trying to contact, and why?

Lol when you pick charmander you immediately regret it first rock types now theres a freaking starmie that kills anything in its way :3 and it was just as tough in the remakes so i kinda just kept trying and trying and trying :o

Some people believe that Starmie is an extraterrestrial Pokemon, because of its habit of sending transmissions skyward. What do YOU think? Who do you think Starmie is trying to contact, and why?
Its likely~ I mean it doesnt exactly look like a normal anything plus the transmissions and the jewel but if it was id say it would be contacting some other planet likely over 90% water and chatting it up with them.

Some people believe that Starmie is an extraterrestrial Pokemon, because of its habit of sending transmissions skyward. What do YOU think? Who do you think Starmie is trying to contact, and why?

My best guess is that it's an alien. It doesn't have a gender, it has a freaking gem for an eye, and it's quite literally a sea STAR. But what is it trying to contact? Its alien overlord or something. Why? Missions, I suppose.

But I thought of something else.

Starmie don't belong in outer space; only Staryu do. Due to the radiation of the Water Stone, found exclusively in the Pokémon world, it then evolves into Starmie.

673 - GOGOAT

They inhabit mountainous regions. The leader of the herd is decided by a battle of clashing horns.”

Who's that trip-trapping over my bridge? Today's Pokemon of the Day is Gogoat! One of the first Generation VI Pokemon revealed, alongside its pre-evolution and a small handful of others, Gogoat is one of the few Pokemon that you can actually ride on in X and Y which, whilst not an entirely new concept – after all, surfing on Pokemon has been a thing since the first generation – was a first for the series, at least on land. Indeed, Gogoat seems to have been designed with this concept in mind, for its horns give it the ability to sense the feelings of the one who grips them. In the anime Gogoat appeared early on as one of Alexa's Pokemon.

Share your opinion, memories, and experiences of Gogoat! As well as the general questions in the first post of this topic, here are some fun things to think about:
  • Do you prefer Gogoat's original shiny colouration that was shown in the E3 pre-release footage, or the shiny colours it ended up with?
  • Did you enjoy riding on Gogoat in XY? Are there other Pokemon you'd like to ride on in future games?

How much trouble did Misty's Starmie give you in the Generation I games and their remakes?
I struggle to remember the details my very first Red/Blue runs... But I don't think Misty's Starmie gave me all that much trouble. I think I probably raised a Pikachu I caught from Viridian Forest to take on the second gym. Misty's Starmie could have been more trouble if it had any psychic moves at its disposal.

Some people believe that Starmie is an extraterrestrial Pokemon, because of its habit of sending transmissions skyward. What do YOU think? Who do you think Starmie is trying to contact, and why?
I have no earthly idea... I've never been one for concocting Poke-therories. xD Maybe it's trying to contact Homeworld?

Do you prefer Gogoat's original shiny colouration that was shown in the E3 pre-release footage, or the shiny colours it ended up with?
I like the shiny colors we ended up with. The pre-release colors weren't really all that different than a standard Gogoat. Generally I like shiny color schemes that differ in hue a bit compared to the normal colors. The golden horns are cool~

Did you enjoy riding on Gogoat in XY? Are there other Pokemon you'd like to ride on in future games?
Honestly it wasn't all the memorable an experience to ride the Gogoats for me. I got more a kick out of riding the other Pokemon such as Rhyhorn, Mamoswine, and especially Lapras. I would love more specific Pokemon models to be incorporated in the future when surfing or traversing tricky terrain... Basically any sizable quadruped would be cool. Maybe even legendaries?!

Gogoat brings some good memories. Though I've only used the Pokemon once in a playthrough, my current one, it has wuickly become one of my favorites on the team and in general. Solid Pokemon and the horns sensing your feelings are awesome

Did you enjoy riding on Gogoat in XY? Are there other Pokemon you'd like to ride on in future games?
- I think that is great though I wish there was a larger area for you to ride on them so you could explore a little more while riding on them.

351 - CASTFORM

Its appearance changes with the weather. Recently, its molecules were found to be just like water.”

Blame it on the weatherman. Today's Pokemon of the Day is Castform! First introduced in Gen III, Castform was one of the first Pokemon to have form differences, with one for Sunny, Rainy, and Hail weather conditions, which change its type, and the type of its signature Weather Ball move. Unsurprisingly, Castform is able to facilitate changes in the weather itself in battle. In the anime, Castform's only major appearance was at the Weather Institute in Hoenn, where it is also attained by the player in the games.

Share your opinion, memories, and experiences of Castform! As well as the general questions in the first post of this topic, here are some fun things to think about:
  • Castform does not change its form in Fog or a Sandstorm. How would you design forms for these weather conditions?
  • Castform's alternate forms do not have shiny colours. If you could change this, what colours would you give them?

Castform does not change its form in Fog or a Sandstorm. How would you design forms for these weather conditions?
To me, the Snowy Form actually looks like something that would suit foggy weather. I would have that design be for Fog, and then remake the Snowy Form to look more icy... Perhaps like a snowflake? Sandstorm would be brownish in color, and perhaps have some rocks decorating its head. It would have little swirly yellowish clouds around it like a tiny sandstorm or something.

Castform's alternate forms do not have shiny colours. If you could change this, what colours would you give them?
Sunny Form could be more yellow... Rainy, I don't know... It seems like one of those Pokemon that would have a shiny with just a slightly different hue for the color. xD Snowy could be lighter in color or closer to white.

047 - PARASECT

A host-parasite pair in which the parasite mushroom has taken over the host bug. Prefers damp places.”

Today's Pokemon of the Day is Parasect! The result of a bug/plant fusion gone horribly awry, and the first of many Mushroom Pokemon to appear in the games, Parasect has always been relatively uncommon, being found in the wild only in Kanto and Johto, and then only in three locations – Cerulean Cave and the Safari Zone, and Mt. Silver Cave in Crystal only. Despite China not technically existing on Pokearth, Parasect's mushroom spores are actually used as medicine there, according to Pokemon Stadium. Along with its pre-evolved form, Parasect is also the only Pokemon that can take 5x damage from fire-type attacks if it has the Dry Skin ability. In the anime, Parasect has never featured prominently, appearing only in minor roles, usually to unleash a spore of some kind on someone for getting too close.

Share your opinion, memories, and experiences of Parasect! As well as the general questions in the first post of this topic, here are some fun things to think about:
  • What sort of instincts do you think drive the mushroom on Parasect's back?
  • Given Parasect's poisonous nature – and overwhelming aversion to Fire - if given the chance, would you change one of its types to Poison? If so, which of its existing types would you change?

441 - CHATOT

Its tongue is just like a human's. As a result, it can cleverly mimic human speech.”

Hey Jafar, shut up! Today's Pokemon of the Day is Chatot! A Normal/Flying bird introduced in Generation IV, Chatot's signature move, Chatter, allowed players to record a sound to play in place of the default attack sound, reflecting its ability to learn human speech...or any other sound it might happen to hear. Unfortunately for Chatot, this move is probably what caused it to be banned from Gen V's Global Battle Union. Chatot also featured prominently in Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Darkness/Time/Sky, serving as Guildmaster Wigglytuff's assistant. In the anime, Chatot has only had minor roles, often being the annoying lifelong companion of the Character of the Day.

Share your opinion, memories, and experiences of Chatot! As well as the general questions in the first post of this topic, here are some fun things to think about:
  • Did you record a sound for Chatter? If so, what sound did you do?

The only Chatot I've come into contact with is Pearl's partner in the Pokémon Adventures Diamond & Pearl manga saga. It talked and stuff but didn't impress me a lot I guess d: Chatot unfortunately is one of those pokémon I easily forget exist. I guess as far as parrot pokémon could have gone though, it's pretty decently designed and stuff c:

What sort of instincts do you think drive the mushroom on Parasect's back?
Um... The need.... the need to feed and leech off another living being. The actual insect part of Parasect probably doesn't live for itself much anymore, since the mushroom takes over the insect.

Given Parasect's poisonous nature – and overwhelming aversion to Fire - if given the chance, would you change one of its types to Poison? If so, which of its existing types would you change?
I suppose it would make sense for it to be Bug/Poison, but Parasect doesn't really learn any good offensive Poison moves... But at least Fire won't be as devastating anymore?

Did you record a sound for Chatter? If so, what sound did you do?
Gosh it's been almost ten years since Diamond and Pearl released. I probably made Chatot say something stupid. xD

What did you think of the Chatot in the second Pokemon Mystery Dungeon titles?
He was alright... not as cool as Wigglytuff, obviously. He was kinda hotheaded and a quick to judge sometimes, like that one time the player character and their partner failed a mission and he made them go to sleep without eating supper. Tough love... I guess? Deep down he cared about the Guild members, even if he was rather strict about enforcing the rules.

I'd change grass. I think it probably learns more physical bug stab than physical grass stab.

Did you record a sound for Chatter? If so, what sound did you do?
I don't know if I had evn done that. Maybe on someone elses game, but I really doubt I've caught those things myself in DPPt, I only caught em in like gen6 where the recording voice function didn't really work.

What did you think of the Chatot in the second Pokemon Mystery Dungeon titles?
I didn't really like him much. I don't know why, I just wasn't too fond of him ;-;.
I… might put something interesting here eventually.

How would you improve Gogoat? What sort of additional ability, moves, or stat bonuses would you give it that would make it more viable in competitive play? For Pokémon that are already very viable for competitive play, what makes them so useful, and how would you balance them?

Gogoat should boast a much higher Speed stat, and must have a better ability. Both its abilities suck, and if Gogoat is a FREAKING GOAT, why isn't it fast?

Castform does not change its form in Fog or a Sandstorm. How would you design forms for these weather conditions?

Castform seriously needs a Sandstorm form. WHY DOESN'T IT HAVE A SANDSTORM FORM?! I started thinking, and I kinda realized Castform only changes form relating to the humidity. Harsh sunlight provides little water, and Rain and Hail provide lots. But it really needs one, which would be either Rock or Ground. For fog, though? Not sure...

Given Parasect's poisonous nature – and overwhelming aversion to Fire - if given the chance, would you change one of its types to Poison? If so, which of its existing types would you change?

I'd change it to Poison/Bug. My primary reason is that MUSHROOMS AREN'T PLANTS.

Did you record a sound for Chatter? If so, what sound did you do?

I think I was just messing with the microphone. XD

What did you think of the Chatot in the second Pokemon Mystery Dungeon titles?

This Chatot just made Chatot a little less of a gimmick. He's a strict, bossy and borderline mean guy who forces you to go without a meal because of Team Skull. However I did like his past experience with Kabutops and the Omastar brothers. I kinda like Wigglytuff more than him, though.

615 - CRYOGONAL

They are composed of ice crystals. They capture prey with chains of ice, freezing the prey at -148° F.”

Today's Pokemon of the Day is Cryogonal! One of the more bizarre Pokemon introduced in Generation V, Cryogonal is a mysterious hexagonal blue snowflake which preys on the unwary, making it the perfect metaphor for what happens when it snows heavily in certain countries. Even more bizarre is the fact that Cryogonal is the only genderless Pokemon apart from Mew that can learn Attract. In the anime, Cryogonal has appeared in minor antagonistic roles – even going so far as to inspire a villain, Cryogonal Man – and under the control of ice-type Gym Leader Brycen.

Gonna attempt to catch up here again...

Magikarp
I don't remember much of my opinions or usage of Magikarp in the past, other than, if anything, I saw it as a little silly, and I was definitely shocked to learn that it evolved into the beast that is Gyarados. (Honestly? I think I used to assume that Barboach evolved into Gyarados. Boy was I wrong...) Nowadays, I just can't hate Magikarp. I like its silly reputation, I like that what it lacks in physical power, it supposedly makes up for in environmental adaptability, and of course, I love that it evolves into a Pokémon whose power, potential, and intimidation (no pun intended) increase a hundredfold.

In my playthrough of Red on 3DS that I recently started, I bought the Magikarp from the salesman on Route 4 and named him Torien. I did this for the sole purpose of keeping it with me, levelling it up until it evolves into a Gyarados. I don't believe I've really done this before, but I'm having a lot of fun doing it now. He's been in my party ever since I got him, and I'm eager for this thing to evolve into a powerhouse Water type, and learn some good moves.

Oddly enough, I got a Holo Magikarp card from the boosters in the Celebi Generations TCG box I bought today at GameStop. Also, something I don't get: how come Goldeen's the dud/gag assist Poké Ball Pokémon in Smash Bros.? Naturally you'd think it'd be Magikarp, but I guess not.

Lanturn
Spoiler:
Ah, Lanturn's such a cutie~ I don't remember having used a Chinchou or Lanturn in the games, but I'll add it to my list of things to do in AS. Lanturn is one of those handful of Pokémon that I temporarily forget debuted in Gen 2, others including Corsola, Slugma, Wobbuffet, Kingdra, and Marill.

NU is my main tier in Showdown, and I do see Lanturn quite a lot; it's one of the toughest mons I find myself going against there. It's got great typing, decent bulk and moves, and some dang nice abilities. You just never know which type-absorbing ability it has, it always tends to be the one that corresponds to the move I choose :P

Gourgeist
Spoiler:
I never really got how the different sizes thing worked and I still don't. All I do know is that each sizes' base stats are different, so I say that kinda adds some nice strategy, competitively. Overall, Gourgeist is a very unique Pokémon- not only in its different sizes, its design, and its typing. Out of the Pokémon who introduced the Ghost/Grass typing in Gen 6, I prefer Phantump and Trevenant overall, but Pumpkaboo and Gourgeist are nothing short of adorable. Compared to the former family, Pumpkaboo/Gourgeist are both adorable, whereas Phantump is adorable, and Trevenant is just plain creepy-looking.

Another thing making Gourgeist unique is the odd move Trick-or-Treat, which adds Ghost-typing to opposing Pokémon for those who don't know. Unlike the tree ghost counterparts' Forest's Curse which adds Grass typing, Trick-or-Treat seems to be very viable, due to making the Pokémon become weak to Gourgeist's Ghost moves.

Starly
I don't think I have any particular strong feelings for Starly, but I do remember it quite vividly around back when Gen 4 was just starting around here. Back then, me and my friends at my old elementary school would often play pretend games involving Pokémon (not just battling them, but also walking around with them, playing with them, etc.), and I particularly remember Starly being the first instance of those games involving a Sinnoh Pokémon. Reminiscing about those days just really takes me back... Anywho, I remember raising one in Diamond and/or Platinum, and I kinda remember the one Ash raised in the DP series anime.

Also, it's got a really interesting cry.

Entei
Spoiler:
All three of the legendary Beasts' designs are amazing and iconic, but the only one that really appeals to me is Suicune. However, Entei is great in its own right, and had undoubtedly the biggest anime role of the three. I vaguely remember watching at least most of Pokémon 3, but I listened to the soundtrack CD a lot. I just bought the first three movies on Blu Ray, so watching 3 fully is definitely a nearby possibility for me. God, though, the roaming thing is super annoying. I still have Raikou and Entei left in HG to catch, and I've not ever owned either, so I'll definitely be going back to do that sometime soon.

I don't know much about the Beasts competitively, but I think it's pretty awesome that Entei can now use Sacred Fire.

Pikachu
Hope everyone had an awesome Pokémon Day! ^^

It sadly seems that it's a kind-of popular thing to dislike Pikachu nowadays, and while I can understand why, I just never hated the guy. It isn't quite in my top favorites, but it's not low at all, either. I haven't particularly ever used one much, but I never didn't want to.

Whether you love Pokémon or not, its iconic appearance must have showed up at one point or another in your life. Undeniably, Pikachu is one of the handful of Pokémon that I remember seeing in my earliest memories. I'm not quite sure about the story of why it was picked as the series mascot, if there is a story, but I've come to like Pikachu. It's difficult for me to think of any Gen 1 Pokémon fit for being as prevalent in Pokémon media and merchandise as Pikachu. Charizard is one of the closest that comes to me, especially since I remember also seeing it quite a bit as a kid. No matter what path of Pokémon you take, Pikachu will always be there, one way or another. And that's where I can understand people getting sick of it, but I honestly don't. It's adorable, it has- like I said before- a nice, iconic design, and I couldn't think of a better fit for a mascot than Pikachu, and I don't mind seeing it all over the place.

As you can probably guess, I like Ash's Pikachu in the anime, seeing it grow and mature along its devoted trainer and their unbreakable bond all throughout the years. I like Pikachu's older cry from the games. I'm not surprised that they replaced it with its traditional voice, but I'm a tad bit upset. Nevertheless, it's kind of a cool thing they did, especially nodding back to what Pikachu would do in Yellow version. As much attention and love Pikachu gets officially, the one thing they really can't do is give Pikachu a Mega form. As someone I heard a while ago said, Game Freak is probably kicking themselves for giving Pikachu an evolution. However, they probably gave it the adorable costumes in ORAS to make up for it. As for that particular Pikachu, I haven't used it in contests at all, I was much more interested in using other Pokémon I had. I'm currently raising one in Red version on 3DS to take on Misty's gym. As a small note, I mained Pikachu in Smash Bros. Brawl for a little while. And no, I did not spam Thunder all the time. :P

Pikachu is undeniably the most prolific Pokémon in existence, and I hope to see it stay as the series mascot, as well as one of the most iconic video game characters- heck- fictional characters in general, for many years to come. :)

Starmie
Spoiler:
Oh god, I'm nearly about to go against Misty and her Starmie in my Red playthrough, and I am not looking for it. Like I said above, I'm currently training up a Pikachu to stand the smallest chance against her. I didn't pick Bulbasaur as a starter, and I'm not interested in training up an Oddish at the moment, so he'll have to do for now, along with my slightly bulky Nidoran♂, Jack.

Starmie, and Staryu, are among the most iconic designs of Gen 1, in my opinion. It's just so...odd, but awesome. It looks part otherworldly, part man-made. I honestly think in reality, they are extraterrestrials of some kind. Starmie is quite a force competitively, as well; Rapid Spin really helps.

Gogoat
Spoiler:
Skiddo and Gogoat are among my favorite new Pokémon designs in Gen 6. Skiddo is adorable, while Gogoat is calm and majestic. I caught a Skiddo early on in my first run through Y, but I never really did anything besides gain some levels and use it as a Strength slave late in the game. I think I used it in one or two of my gym battles, but I don't remember.

While Gogoat isn't the best competitively, it seems to have a lot of stuff going for it, especially in its moves (Milk Drink of all things), bulk, and Sap Sipper. I felt being able to ride one was a bit over marketed and a tad bit underwhelming in the end, but it was still a cool thing to be able to do. I prefer riding Skiddo and being able to jump over the ledges (even though that doesn't let you progress further in the game), that's a lot more fun. I also much prefer Gogoat's original shiny compared to the one we got. What the hell were they thinking?

Castform
Spoiler:
Castform is among my favorite Pokémon in pretty much most ways other than actually using it in battle. It's adorable (ignoring the one very blatant design flaw), and it's got a unique mechanic. If only it were a bit more powerful, or had an evolution, it might be the slightest bit viable in competitive. Oh, well. I do remember this guy quite a lot back in the day, and I even moved up a Castform traded to me from my childhood best friend up to Gen 6, so the memories still live on. :)

Gonna wait and do the others tomorrow; it won't be nearly as much. :P

How do you think a Cryogonal is born in the first place?
Apparently it's born in a cloud just like other forms of precipitation, though maybe there's some magical properties in the clouds that produce Cryogonal. With all of the other strange stuff that goes on in the Pokemon world, it wouldn't really surprise me!

What do you suppose would happen if it started snowing Cryogonal?
I think I would call in sick to work and stay inside if it started snowing Cryogonal. I wouldn't want to cross an angry one, and have it try and freeze me or something. It'd definitely be a sight to see, though.

154 - MEGANIUM

Its breath has the fantastic ability to revive dead plants and flowers.”

Today's Pokemon of the Day is Meganium! The fully evolved form of Johto starter Chikorita, Meganium is a sauropod with a flower around it's neck...pretty self-explanatory. Like many grass-type Pokemon of earlier generations, Meganium is described as a more docile species, exuding relaxing fragrances to calm its opponents...which, unfortunately, won't stop it from being clobbered in competitive battles. In the anime, Meganium has made several inor appearances, including being Casey's ace Pokemon despite not being black or yellow. Ash's Grovyle also fell in love with one during the Hoenn season.

Share your opinion, memories, and experiences of Meganium! As well as the general questions in the first post of this topic, here are some fun things to think about:
  • What sort of fragrance do you imagine Meganium's flower having?
  • What do you imagine Mega Meganium will look like, assuming one is made?

How do you think a Cryogonal is born in the first place?

Easy: it was born of snow, and somehow Arceus accidentally spilled its life potion on it.

What do you imagine Mega Meganium will look like, assuming one is made?

I would imagine it as a dinosaur (preferably a brachiosaurus) with lots of flowers around it, and its antennae would blossom. Also it would look maybe a little less friendly.

23 - EKANS

Moves silently and stealthily. Eats the eggs of birds, such as Pidgey and Spearow, whole.”

Today's Pokemon of the Day is Ekans! A purple snake that seems to draw inspiration from half a dozen different species – most noticeably a rattlesnake and a boa constrictor – the cleverly-named Ekans, originally exclusive to Pokemon Red, is most commonly found along earlier routes at a low level, and comes equipped with infuriating status-inflicting moves such as Glare. In the anime, Ekans was Jessie's first Pokemon, although it quickly evolved into Arbok when called upon to do so...and proved about as useful in battle as it had previously. An Ekans was also one of the members of Team Meanies in the first Pokemon Mystery Dungeon games, serving as a minor antagonist of sorts.

Share your opinion, memories, and experiences of Ekans! As well as the general questions in the first post of this topic, here are some fun things to think about:
  • Be honest – how long did it take you to figure out that Ekans was “Snake” spelled backwards?
  • Given the vicious nature of Spearow and their tendency to swam, how much success do you think Ekans have stealing their eggs?

Be honest – how long did it take you to figure out that Ekans was “Snake” spelled backwards?
Not very long actually. I had (and still have!) one of the original Pokedex books as a kid, and that was the fun fact about it and Arbok. What I find just as impressive is that other languages do this to- some like German have their word for snake reversed, and others like Japanese and French use an anagram of boa.

Given the vicious nature of Spearow and their tendency to swam, how much success do you think Ekans have stealing their eggs?
I'd think that if they tried at night, Ekans should be pretty good at stealing eggs. In fact, compared to all of the other snake Pokemon, I'd say Ekans would be the best at it just based on its size.

Be honest – how long did it take you to figure out that Ekans was “Snake” spelled backwards?

Probably when I first saw it. I don't really remember much about my childhood.

Ekans may have a bad time trying to eat Spearow eggs. Snakes and birds are natural enemies in real life, and in either situation one can win. But Spearow usually travels in packs, so they can just divebomb the Ekans easily.

119 - SEAKING

In the autumn spawning season, they can be seen swimming powerfully up rivers and creeks.”

Psyduck yeah, Seaking! Today's Pokemon of the Day is Seaking! The evolved form of Goldeen, Seaking has often simply being that one Pokemon you might encounter whilst looking for something else, it being a fairly common sight Surfing along later routes or using higher level rods. It's Lightingrod ability, granting it immunity to electric-type attacks, is unfortunately insufficient to make it competitive in the face of its poor stats. Thanks to 4chan, Seaking is one of the few Pokemon that has ascended to internet meme status, for some reason. In the anime Seaking has never made any standout appearances, other than being used by Juan in his Gym Battle against Ash, and being of the Sensational Sister's many water-type Pokemon.

Share your opinion, memories, and experiences of Seaking! As well as the general questions in the first post of this topic, here are some fun things to think about:
  • What do you think of Seaking's Meme? Have you ever made one yourself?
  • Which stats would you improve to make Seaking a more competitively viable Pokemon for higher tiers?
