They don't seem to be version-exclusive, since I believe Charjabug looks like it evolves from Grubbin as its cocoon-like stage, before eventually evolving into Vikavolt.
That is a good point, Charjabug does seem more like a cocoon stage than a larvae stage due to the lack of movement in battle. And thinking back on Grubbin's description on the website, they can be found near power plants where they feed off of electricity. I've been planning on having a Bug for the first time on my team, and I picked Grubbin as a possible candidate, which is awesome now that I know it will possibly evolve into Vikavolt, which would also take up my usual Electric-type slot that I have had in all my teams thus far.

Loving all the new Pokémon so far, and out of this batch— even if Bruxish is a little scary hehe, still has its own charm. Loving Cutiefly, Tapu Koko, and Drampa the most though! Bug/Fairy, Electric/Fairy, and Normal/Dragon?! Yes please! Cutiefly's a cutie (it's in the name, heh!) and Tapu Koko + Drampa are both really cool. Looking forward to hear more about these guys and see the English release, which we'll most likely see tomorrow?

As for animals I wanna see, we already got a koala so that's actually one out of my list, but I wanna see a Betta fish (I think someone in the past had already brought it up), some more birds (the black/umbrella cockatoo comes to mind, as well as some of the really rare exotic birds out there— though I doubt we'll see lots of birds hehe. I can only dream!), a dolphin Pokémon and a tiger (not a young tiger like I assume Litten is, but rather an adult tiger aha. Very likely we'll see one for Litten!). =')
For types I wanna see, Normal/Dragon, Bug/Fairy, and Electric/Fairy were chopped out with this recent new Pokés batch, but I hope that we'll see Fairy/Dragon (besides Mega Altaria, as much as I adore M-Altaria we need a Pokémon that's that type to begin with and not a Mega!), Fire/Fairy, Fire/Grass, and Dark/Fairy. ;v; Ghost/Fairy too!

Rockruff will evolve into a wolf or dire wolf it would seem. The info from the English Site says that as it grows, it begins to howl, a sign that it will soon evolve. Once it does, it seems to go away, but returns once it is fully evolved.

Komala seems to be given the log by its parents, so that tells me it will evolve. But I am not sure if it will gain a typing.

Brixfish can be the best counter against H.A. Talonflame if given good stats or an evolution with it's Dazzle ability.

Komala looks like it does sleeping style kicking moves.. It would be funny if it evolved into a Drunkola that fights in Drunken style fighting (like Spinda , but better)
I was actually thinking this to be honest. Drunken Monkey Style, but in this case, bear. I still hope it isn't a fighting though. Although I wouldn't mind. I love fighting types.

Not really a fan of a Lock Pokemon. But who knows. They have made other things into amazing pokemon.

After typing a ton of stuff in order to plan a Pokemon Fanfic. I have noticed some things from generation to generation. And I think I mentioned way back at the start or in XY.

In a prediction or general wants, I counted to see what types we might get. But I think that was a bad choice, as it limits a prediction. And even though it is nearly impossible to predict what we will get 100%, I going to make this prediction based on Evolution Lines. Instead of pokemon in general. This does not take into account Legends or Megas. And when I say pokemon lines, they don't even have to evolve. I consider Shuckle a bug line. Also this only counts the final evolution of said line. The pokemon before it, do not have to have the same typing. This also takes into consideration of duel typings, so something like Vikavolt would be considered bug and elec.

Spoiler:
Bug - In the odd generation, we get a ton of bug pokemon in most cases. More than even gens most of the time. I am going to guess 5 Bug Pokemon Lines.

Dark - In a generally well balanced amount. We got a large amount in Unova and I don't think that will happen again in Alola. But with Night probably playing a role in Sun and Moon, I am going to say 4 lines.

Dragon - Although we got a large amount of dragon in the last 2 gens, it is one of the rarest pokemon types in the game. Fairy already has more evolution lines than dragon. However, I don't see many being in Alola. So I am going to say 3 lines. Alola would be the perfect place for a bug/dragon.

Electric - Elec is another rare typeing for pokemon. We already have a ton of Elec revealed for real pokemon. We also have a possible power plant on Big Island. So I am going to say 5 lines.

Fairy - With it already having a ton of pokemon, I am thinking that we will probably still get a good amount, but not too many. A number of types still have less than Fairy. So I am going to say 4 lines. I am thinking one of those lines might be the Psudo Legend.

Fighting - Game Freak love their fighting types in Odd Gens. So I am going to say 4 lines.

Fire - I think Fire will be a huge focus in Alola. Mainly because it is a tropical region and it seems like there is quite a few places that might have fire type pokemon. So I am going to say 5 lines. Let's hope we get at least more than Hoenn, which honestly should of had a lot of fire types.

Flying - Hawaii is known for a lot of birds. Especially with it being islands. I think flying will be a large part in Alola. I think it will also have a gym along with fire and water. So I am going to say 5 lines.

Ghost - Usually has a low amount of pokemon throughout all gens. Unova gave us a lot. I can see maybe 2 areas having ghosts in Alola. So I am going to say 2 lines. Maybe 3.

Grass - Grass usually has a good amount of pokemon per gen. With it being Tropical, I can see us getting maybe 5 lines.

Ground - We had 2 ground types in Kalos. One being a Legend and one being... not liked very much at all. Ground goes hand and hand with volcanoes in most cases. Not to mention we might have another desert on Big Island. I am going to say 4 lines. I am still pulling for a Donphan Evo that has to learn an attack.

Ice - As much as I love Ice type pokemon, I just don't see there being very many at all in Alola. The only snow that we can see is the mountain. And that is a fairly small area. I am going to say we will get 3 lines. One of those lines being a single pokemon, similar to Unova.

Normal - I think we will see more normals with them doing Normal/xxx pokemon more. Especially with the last 2 gens and then a Normal/Dragon. But we got a ton of normals in Unova and a good amount in Kalos. So I am going to say 4 lines.

Poison - I think we will most likely get a snake like we normally do in Odd Gens, but they may not be Poison similar to Serperior. We haven't gotten a lot of poison types in a while. And when I think Tropical, I usually think of animals and plants that are poisonous. So I am going to say 4 lines.

Psychic - For the last few generations, we have gotten a ton of Psychic pokemon. Odd Gens usually have more Psychic types than evens, but in this case, I think it will be about the same as Kalos. So 3 lines.

Rock - Rock is usually a counterpart of ground and the desert. Obviously we will probably have 2 lines for fossil pokemon. And we already know of Rockruff. I don't think we will get many more than than, so I am going to say 4 lines.

Steel - Steel type pokemon seem to be massive in Sun and Moon. Magerna was steel, Solgaleo is still, and the Pikaclone is also steel. In Unova and Kalos, the Pikaclone has been Flying and Fairy and each of those generation has had a ton of the typing of the Pikaclone. So I am going to say 7 lines.

Water - Alola is tropical, it is an Archipelago and on each side... is water water water.... There is also a large amount of ponds on some of the islands. That being said, I think we are in for a very large amount of water type pokemon. So I am going to say 10 lines. Possibly up to 12 lines.

I didn't see this trailer coming at all, especially because I don't recall any hint to a new trailer so it is definitely a big surprise to see.

But damn, Salandit is so cool! We all wanted a Poison/Fire Pokemon for a very long time plus its new ability Corrosion can bypass immunities to Poison meaning that it can afflict Poison status on anything, even Poison and Steel-types which usually can't get affected with it.

This was exactly how Honedge was revealed. Many people expected a new pokemon today XD

As for the new Pokemon, Gamefreak once again gives a massive middlefinger to today's meta by introducing Saladit and Corrosion. Poisoning Poison and Steel types, while could have been done in the past through exploit, shows that Poison and Steel types are no longer immune to Poison damage, but still immune to poison attacks outside of corrosion. Opens a door for Paralysis on Electric Types and Burn on Fire Types as other potential changes.

First Poison/Fire type too!

I didn't hear anything about a new Pokemon being hinted at, but I recall there was an event in France that Masuda was visiting which was the same event that previously revealed Honedge, but I didn't hear anyone talking about it on the internet.

Still, I think Corrosion is definitely going to be another anti-metagame ability like Bruxish's Dazzling and Komala's Comatose.

Salandit has a bad guy feel to him through and through. The marking on its back looks like a diagram of magma pools in the Earth and release path up to the tail. Interesting pokemon indeed. Komala still won't be poisoned by it due to comatose, but Really creative ability.

I was just casually scrolling through my YouTube feed and then this just appeared out of nowhere xD This is the first time in ages that I've just come across a newly released trailer or information for a Pokemon game without being notified that it's gonna happen via Serebii.

Anyway Salandit seems pretty cool, I love the Poison/Fire typing but I'm not sure yet if I'll want it on my team. Loving all the new Pokemon reveals :)

If Corrosion can bypass type effective immunities, there isn't much to say that it can't bypass ability immunities as well. We have a few abilities that allow for that already. Defiantly won't rule out Saladit being a counter for Komala.

Salandit is a pretty cool guy.I like him. He seems to be based on a salamander or some type of lizard. I like the thief/burglar vibe he's got going on. I hope he evolves into something badass like Krookodile. I've always wanted a Poison/Fire too! His typing is gonna good against Fairy types yes?? Seeing Fairy are weak against Poison and not very effective against Fairy as well and it's Fire typing makes it resistance to Fairy moves too. Sounds like an amazing combo.

He is definitely good against Fairy-types because he's 4x resistant to the type, the only one we had that heavily walled Fairy moves until now was Heatran. The only downside with Salandit's typing is that Ground-types murder him, but it's still an awesome type combination nonetheless.

I figured there would be a new pokemon from Japan Expo today. I think I mentioned a few times in Future Updates. Most people didn't think it would happen though :P

I really really really love this pokemon. I really hope it becomes as cool looking as Krookodile. This pokemon, I wouldn't mind if it becomes a bipedal.

Yeah I can see him doing fairly well in the metagame due to his typing. I'm just hoping he also has good stats or a good evolution to go along with his typing. I seriously seriously want something like Sandile's evo line. Badass and powerful.

Salandit has three 4x resistances which is usually rare. In this case he quad-resists Fairy, Bug and Grass, but in regards to his evolution line I'm likely expecting him to evolve once although he could pull a Sandile and evolve twice.
