Butterfree/Dragonfree/Antialiasis and Lord Nidokingu productions proudly present...

The C.U.P.E.

This is just a preview, of course, and therefore only the Pokmon up to Butterfree are there.

All suggestions and comments welcome.

Is it Wiki?
Take a look, it isn't...

Well I think it's a useful dex, although it's running a bit slow IMO.
What is "The C.U.P.E." actually standing for?

DarkMew: -.- Did you even look at it properly at all? No, it's not a wiki, and we do NOT want the article numbers to soar. The whole **** point of it is so the TWO of us can have something to work on together. A ton of people have offered to help, even just with the unofficial information for one particular Pokmon, and they've all been turned down. Besides, you were just advertising. Why do you even care whether it's a wiki or not? Why didn't you say anything about the project itself?

pika2000: It runs either slowly or very fast, all depending on the traffic around the server at the time you're viewing it. You must have been there at the busiest time.

As for "The C.U.P.E."... *points to thread title*

Legendary Pokmon Master: How is it distracting? o.O You shouldn't let them bother you, they just stay there in the corner... I personally like them there, because if you minimize the window for a while and then bring it back up again, you'll see instantly what you're viewing information for, but they still don't get in the way of the text. Oh well.

And also: The left side doesn't have a scrollbar, and part of the bottom gets cut off in my 800*600 view x.x;;
Oh, right. *edits to fit into 800*600* Putting a scrollbar would look tacky.

Even if you think a scrollbar looks tacky, accessibility counts for more, you know. Some people still use 640x480, so you're excluding them. Just put in a scrollbar.

In terms of info, it's very good, but some of the text is hard to read.

Hmm... truth to be told, I'm not sure how to put a scrollbar on that, since it's a DIV with position:fixed rather than a frame. But I did take out the alphabetical and numerical Pokmon lists and put an "Advanced Search" option instead, so now it should fit nicely into 800*600. And fix the Sugimori art to stay in place.

You can set a scrollbar in a div layer, I do it with some of my clients' sites.

Scrollbars in div layers are just set in CSS, it's standard...?

I tried putting a scrollbar on, but position:fixed appears to prevent that possibility.

o_O Well, it definitely worked for me, in both IE and Netscape/Firefox... I'll have a look at my CSS when I get home, and tell you what I used. I think it's "scroll:auto" or something...

bulbasaur isnt a grass/poison type its just grass. It looks like its a pokedex with commentary at the end, theres really nothing more you can do with a pokedex that serebii and smogon havnt done already. You could try to supply information on effective conteset and battling strategies with it none of the other dexes I can think of have done that, also something that would help you out is for it to look cooler than the other dexes maybe use some colleseum pics instead of the gameboy pics. Good job though it looks nice

Bulbasaur IS Grass/Poison. I personally checked it on my game.

Neither of us is an expert on contest or battling strategies, so we can't really put any of that there.

We don't have Colosseum pictures anyway, but the reason we would rather keep the gameboy sprites is that spriters will appreciate having them.
