Hey everyone! Today, let's talk about Mega Gardevoir and its potential. While Gardevoir wouldn't be my first choice at a Mega in competitive teams, I was actually surprised how good its movesets can be when I started to poke around in the Showdown teambuilder. Here are a couple sets I came up with in my free time.

Gardevoir-Mega @ Gardevoirite
Ability: Pixilate
Level: 50
EVs: 252 Def / 252 SpA / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
- Hyper Voice
- Calm Mind
- Psychic
- Shadow Ball

I like this set because Hyper Voice becomes fairy-type due to Pixelate. This is a better option than setting Gardevoir with Dazzling Gleam, because Pixelate also boosts normal type attacks that become fairy-type through the effects of Pixelate by 30%. Calm Mind is an obvious choice for a stat-boosting move. While Shadow Ball may not gain STAB, I still think it's a good move to set Gardevoir with. Psychic, however, does gain STAB and I think it's the best psychic-type move that Gardevoir can use.

Gardevoir-Mega @ Gardevoirite
Ability: Pixilate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Def
Adamant Nature
- Body Slam
- Wish
- Zen Headbutt
- Protect

I like this set for the same reason as the last. Body Slam gets STAB due to it becoming fairy-type and it gains 30% more base damage, along with a 30% chance to make the opponent flinch. Zen Headbutt gains STAB as well and it also has a 20% chance to make the opponent flinch. While I personally don't like a physical Gardevoir set, this is the best option, in my opinion.

Alright then, that's all I want to say, I can't wait to see what you can think up! See you soon.

Mega-Gardevoir Should Be The First Choice In COMPETETIVE!
Well for me the most effective gardevoir set which is the standard set is-
Gardevoir-Mega @ Gardevoirite
Ability: Trace
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Hyper Voice
- Psyshock
- Will-O-Wisp
- Focus Blast/Taunt

Psyshock is mainly used for chansey while will-o-wisp is to catch steels switching into it.Focus blast/taunt depends on the team I am running.I prefer timid over modest as I love speed in general and mega-garde already has a great sp.atk.
You can also go with 8 def investment to avoid 2hko from life orb lati.

Mega Gardevoir's Attack is terrible by Mega Evolution standards. Physical sets may seem tempting, but they're underwhelming, especially when Mega Altaria does physical Pixilate sets better because of its access to Dragon Dance.

Psyshock is the preferred Psychic STAB on Mega Gardevoir in order to let it pierce through special walls like Chansey. Also, what's the point of a Bold nature when Mega Gardevoir's Defense isn't being invested in? Even with significant investment in Defense, Mega Gardevoir is still frail. Mega Gardevoir is better off with 3 attacks + Taunt, Will-o-Wisp, or Calm Mind. It really likes having extra coverage. The only use of Shadow Ball is to hit Mega Metagross and Jirachi, but you should have other teammates to handle them:
-Psyshock
-Hyper Voice
-Focus Blast
-Calm Mind/Will-o-Wisp/Taunt
Nature: Timid/Modest
EVs: 16 HP/8 Def/232 SAtk/252 Spe
Item: Gardevoirite
Ability: Trace

The above EV spread lets Mega Gardevoir avoid the 2HKO from Latios' Psyshock.

What does everyone prefer in the last slot on the standard set (in singles) anyway? There's a number of good options like Calm Mind, Will-o-Wisp, Taunt, HP Fire, probably some other muk. I always run Taunt just cuz I like having Mega Gardevoir muk on defensive 'mons harder than it already does, but sometimes I wonder if I should run something else.

My set has been working fine for me on Showdown, but I'll try yours too. Thanks for the advice.
