Ok, this is not 'very' serious..

But, I have a question for you all.

Do you ever feel sad after your call has ended with someone you really like?

I have a soul sister and many great friends and family members whom I call quite often and once we're done speaking and the call ends- I feel very happy because it was so nice speaking to them and I feel very energetic about it in the end.

But then, I have a (kind of) boyfriend (not really a boy friend because my culture is different. And so, he is more like a fiance than a boyfriend. My family happens to be religious. So, I rarely get to meet him and even if I do, it's always with family members. That's the way it is at my place)

So, I make it a point to call my boyfriend and his mother once a week.

But, I always feel sad once my call with them ends.

Why?

This is odd... is it like- I like him so much that ending his call makes me really sad or is it something else?

This sadness leaves me very confused sometimes...

Have you guys ever felt this way by talking to someone over the phone?

Or anything similar like that?

Also, do you think that what I've asked above is really odd?

What are your views on this, you guys? : )

For me this seems to be related to generally not being good at saying goodbye. I very much suffer from this (well, it's not that suffering), it's just too hard for me to usually really hang up on someone or to intentionally cut any kind of conversation off.

This is very much the case when talking to someone I really like. I can't say goodbye. I can't disconnect from the voice call. It's just too hard for me. And I also feel pretty sad afterwards for having to leave, or whatever. Just not talking to them anymore, I suppose. It does something to me. I don't know if it's a bad thing, maybe it isn't, but it also does feel like it makes things unnecessarily hard.

Hahahaha! That is SO true!

I'm so glad and relieved I'm not the only one who feels this way here.... I got frightened there for a second when I thought no one was replying, I thought I was going mad, lol.. X D X D

Nah, jk...

Anyway, yes- to get back on topic- this has to be one of the worst feelings or things for me in life.

There is a best moment thread in the treehouse I have replied to.

And if there was a worst moment thread, then it will have to be this 'saying goodbye to a call' one.

Thanks for this, Lize. I was very nice to read your post. : )

for me the problem is getting to say hi before goodbye xD

If I'm ever with family or friends I really dont have an issue letting go or ending the call. Because i can call anytime for stuff like that, but in terms of never being able to (or rarely) see or talk to someone again, I usually dont really have an issue either. I just think "this sucks" and move on. For example, my best friend for almost 10 years and I were zoned to different high schools and I had no problem leaving him even though he was one of my few friends (granted i see him once every few months).

As someone who is plagued by nothing but crippling anxiety, I for one can't wait to end the phone call.
Damn, I came in here expecting to contribute something new but...like...this is me to a T. Yeah, I try to get off the phone as quickly as possible- and it doesn't necessarily have to do with the other person. Talking on the phone is just unpleasant for me, especially if the other person wants to chat. The more casual voice calls are also this way to an extent, though not being expected to talk when there are more than 3 people is pretty calming, it still has its own quirks and...isn't particularly ideal. It's pretty rare that I go in one unless I have a pretty big reason to.

Ugh yes. It's the same for me. I hate talking to anyone on the phone, and will go to great lengths to avoid it. It doesn't matter who the other person on the line is. Talking on the phone is my least favorite thing.

This does not mean, however, that I don't understand what the OP is talking about. If there's someone that I enjoy spending time with, then I do hate to see our face-to-face conversations end. It feels better being in contact with certain people, and knowing that you have to say good-bye to those people for any length of time can hurt.

^ Me.

I hate dealing with others calling because it causes me so much panic. x____x Like, I have no problem talking to my parents on the phone. It's just anyone else... I end up literally just freaking out so bad :c

I hate phonecalls, honestly. There are a few people that I'm okay with talking to over phone or Skype. I'm usually always ready to end the call, though. But if I'm talking to a certain bunny, we tend to sit there for a while trying to figure out who should hang up lmao. We're lame.

Wow, I can't believe how many people hate making or receiving phone calls! XD

It is also very nice to see how far this thread has come from the original topic...

Awesome replies you guys! They help me get a good understanding of the different takes and perspectives on the matter.

Also, to add on to my own point a little more- I happen to be a stereotypical Candace (from Phineas and Ferb). I LOVE texting and phone calls and I can never seem to get enough of them! XD

I also like making new friends and meeting new people a LOT! And that makes me very similar to Ash too.

I don't mind ending phone calls. What makes me anxious is that person not calling again. Like if someone tends to call at a certain time every day, or a certain day of the week, then suddenly stops...I'm like @[email protected] DiD I Do SOmeTHIng WRONG?
