Wow, it's Saturday already?! Time to update and post the next challenge, I guess. Wow! And Enigma skyrockets up to Phase 3! Cool CSS, by the way.
 • Fennel talks to me about the wireless functions of the game (That I can't even use due to the fact that I'm on an emulator on my laptop).
 • I beat Cheren pretty easily on Route 4.
 • I caught Tribus the Misdreavus on Route 4 as well.
 • Encountered a Ludicolo at Wellspring Cave. It killed Tribus, and it almost killed Azriella. So naturally, I had to kill it.
 • Caught Ezintathu the Caterpie at Pinwheel Forest (Section 1). Sadly, it died before I could evolve it into it's true potential.
 • And that's when I realized, I couldn't catch anymore Pokmon. So I trained the two remaining ones to over level 20.
 • I blew through the Gym Trainers.
 • Lenora was pretty easy. Until she killed Remmy with her Sawk... ;-;

My "Team"
Spoiler:
Azriella (Azelf) Lv. 23 / Minus
Sacred Sword, Teleport, Fire Blast, Cut

The Grave
Spoiler:
NRG (Golett) Lvs. 4-11 / Pickup
Focus Blast, Rest, Iron Tail, Flame Burst

Tribus (Misdreavus ?) Lvs. 11-16 / Speed Boost
Wake Up Slap, Vital Throw, Shell Smash, Taunt

Ezintathu (Caterpie ?) Lv. 15 / Battle Armor
Bolt Strike, Spark, Telekinesis

Remmy (Pignite ?) Lv. 10-22 / Water Absorb
Mist Ball, Sweet Kiss, Astonish, Sky Drop

You guys survived the Nuzlocke and the Tri-Species. Well, at least four of you. Now it's time for the third phase. DRUMROLL PLEASE.

THE NATURELOCKE CHALLENGE!

That's right! The Naturelocke Challenge is a challenge where your Pokmon have certain limitations depending on their Natures! To quote Mewquazabsol's thread:

Rules in GREEN are optional, and thus only have to be used if you want to.
Spoiler: I'm putting this in a SPOILER tag because it's kind of long
Now, here are the specifics:

Hardy :: These Pokmon are pretty mild-mannered. They don't tire easily, and they can use all sorts of moves. They also don't mind being HM slaves.

Lonely :: These Pokmon tend to be loners, so no Pokmon on their team can share their exact typing. However, if a Lonely Pokmon is dual-typed, it is welcome to share single types. (i.e. Trash Wormadam can be on the same team as a Beedrill and/or a Steelix, but not a Scizor because they both have the Bug and Steel typing.) Also, after every 5 trainer battles, they like to take some time off from battling and be alone. They are not allowed to battle again until another team member levels up, but they can stay on the team.

Brave and Bold :: These Pokmon are like blazing flames bursting with courage and energy. They can only use special attacks and recoil moves, and can only be healed by non-Pokmon Center means at red health. Pokmon Centers can be used at any level of health, though. They can only occupy the first or second team slot due to their leadership qualities. If they are sent out against a Pokmon that has a type advantage, they will stay in and fight it.

Adamant :: These Pokmon stick to their beliefs and decisions like glue. If they can learn any moves that trap and then confuse them, such as Petal Dance or Outrage, they must. Once in battle, they will refuse to switch out until they either faint the opposing Pokmon or die.

Naughty :: These Pokmon like to disobey the rules and go their own way. If they can learn any Dark- or Ghost-type moves, they must. Every turn, use a random number generator (RNG) set from 1-8 to determine their action. If a 1, 2 or 3 is rolled, they must use a move. If a 4 or 5 is rolled, they must heal, regardless of health or status. If a 6 or 7 is rolled, they must switch out. If an 8 is rolled, they will choose to follow whatever decision you make. They will refuse to learn weak HMs such as Cut, but will gladly learn more powerful ones like Surf.

Docile :: These Pokmon tend to avoid fighting due to their pacifist ways, so they can only use status moves and HMs, the latter applying to both battles and the field. Docile 'mons won't fight in major battles (gyms, E4, crime bosses.)

Relaxed, Lax, and Calm :: These laid-back Pokmon like to, well, relax. They don't like the quick, sudden movements of priority moves such as Quick Attack and Sucker Punch, and prefer status moves or those of the Water, Normal, Grass, and Psychic types. So, if they can learn any of those kinds of moves, they have to. In battle, said types of moves will be used over other types that could be in the Pokmon's moveset.

Impish :: These Pokmon like to play pranks on others when they least expect it. After each gym, if an Impish Pokmon is in your party, use a RNG set from 1-6. Whatever number is "rolled," the Pokmon occupying that slot will have their item stolen from them and given to the Impish one. If the RNG chooses the Impish Pokmon, no item is stolen. If the 'mon is already holding an item, they have to give back the item to its orginal owner. If the chosen 'mon has no item, the Impish one gives up and waits until the next gym.

Timid :: These Pokmon are too afraid to fight against Dark, Ghost, Poison, and Dragon 'mons. They can only hold single-use items because they usually drop them in fright anyway. They can only use stat boosters, sound-based moves, switch-out moves, and moves with 70 power or less.

Hasty :: These Pokmon love speed, so if any priority moves can be learnt, they must be. They must be faster than the opposing 'mon to heal or switch out. They are intimidated by Dark, Ghost, Bug, and Dragon Pokmon, and have to switch out regardless of speed or advantage.

Serious :: These Pokmon tend to keep a straight face and a stormy mood. They can only deal neutral damage to opponents, so no super effective moves are allowed. They can only learn one HM, and must have at least 2 STAB moves in order to use said HM outside of battle.

Jolly :: These Pokmon are upbeat and fun to be around. If they are on the team when an Impish Pokmon steals an item, use a RNG from 1-4 to determine if the Jolly Pokmon will give back the item. If 1 or 2 are rolled, it will fail, but if 3 or 4 are rolled, the deed will be successful and the Pokmon can keep their item. If a Jolly Pokmon does not participate in an important battle but chooses to cheer the team on instead, a Pokmon can cheat death, but only once before the Elite 4 and once during the E4.

Nave :: These Pokmon are innocent and inexperienced. They don't know about TMs and HMs, so if they are taught one, they have to forget all about a STAB move in exchange. In important battles, they will switch out upon being struck by a critical hit because they have no idea what happened.

Modest :: These generous Pokmon think little of themselves and more of their teammates. If they can learn an important TM or use an evolution item, they will first offer it to their teammates. If another team member can learn the move or use the item, the Modest Pokmon will give it to them. If not, it's all theirs. In games where TMs are infinite, they are welcome to any TM. They politely refuse to be healed in battle if another teammate is in critical condition. Again, if not, they can heal all they want.

Mild :: These mild-mannered 'mons can only use Normal moves and status to deal damage. They will sit out during important battles and give their held item to the Pokmon who needs it the most for the battle.

Quiet :: These shy Pokmon cannot use sound-based moves or eat berries they don't like the flavor of, regardless of effect.

Bashful :: If a Pokmon of the opposite gender and same egg group as a Bashful 'mon is on the same team, they can only occupy slots that are next to each other. If there is a chance to breed them, they must. However, if it has already been paired with a Pokemon before and said Pokemon dies or leaves the team, it is not required to do this again. Bashful Pokmon only can eat sweet berries, regardless of effect.

Rash :: These Pokmon tend to act on impulse in stressful or angering situations. They can only learn damaging moves, and if they are critical'd, their next turn has to be used to strike back. If an Impish Pokmon steals an item from a Rash 'mon and it is not given back, the Rash Pokmon will throw a fit and not be able to participate in the next battle.

Gentle :: Arceus has smiled down on these kind Pokmon and freed them from any rules. They can be used in any way.

Sassy :: These Pokmon have both sharp moves and tongues. They can only use moves with over 50 base power and refuse to learn HMs or eat berries they don't like.

Careful :: These cautious Pokmon will switch out if they are at a type disadvantage. However, if they have a good counter to that advantage, they will choose to stay battle and try to win. If they are critical'd, they will switch out and must be healed next turn.

Quirky :: These Pokmon go for the odd approach. They cannot use STAB moves, and they don't like having two moves of the same type. They love collecting random things, so they must always hold an item when it is possible. WIP: Randomized quirks

Now good luck to you all!

Question: Because I'm in gen 2 and Nature didn't come out until gen 3, shound I RNG each of my pokemon a nature for this part of the challenge?
Oh, they didn't? I'm only 14, so I wouldn't know that kind of thing. {XD} That's a good idea. I say yes, you should. Good luck!

Well, Phase 3 went terribly for me. Thanks, Catman...

-I had to box my Houndour due to it not following the Naturelocke rules
-My Nuzleaf died during grinding by a Machamp. I believe it was a crit, but I was speeding up, so I don't know
-I encountered a level 5 Entei, but I one-shotted it with Scratch...
-I encountered a Pineco, and right after thinking of the possibility that it would Self Destruct, it an hero'd, leaving my Anorith at 5 HP
-I had an abysmal grinding session
-My Slaking DonglyKnog died during said grinding session by a Dratini's Wrap. It was all my fault, since I was about to heal but decided he could survive one more battle. Of course, I was wrong.
-I caught Eugene the Krabby (like Eugene Krabs haha)
-I caught Big Blue the Wailord (pun on Big Red haha feminism)
-Watson's fight takes the cake. He started off with a Flygon, and his Octillery kills my Gengar Qario, who essentially led the team
-I hate the Naturelocke Challenge

Current Team:
Spoiler:

Siggy the Marshtomp, Level 26
Mud Shot, Growl, Tackle, Water Gun

Anoroach the Anorith, Level 22
Scratch, Harden, Mud Sport, Water Gun

Dead:
Spoiler:

Gawkula the Golbat

Jahn the Nuzleaf

DonglyKnog the Slaking

Qario the Gengar, I miss him already

I wasn't that lucky this time. My Croconaw sadly died in a trainer battle (watching SGDQ and playing Nuzlocke at the same time might not be the best idea {XD}) and 3 other pokemon died while I tried to train them a bit :(. Let's hope that upcoming locations will give me some interesting pokemon.

Damn, ya'll have made some progress. Just got Phase 2 out of the way, we'll see how Phase 3 goes. But the former was pretty easy. I basically made a beeline for the gym after Rustboro and the areas south of it. Aino swept Brawly + one Trainer near the gym's entrance.

Party / PC:

Spoiler:

(I took Judith because I wanted to train her over the two in the box, despite Laurine having a clear advantage over Brawly.)

Smooth sailing thus far. Next phase seems a little complex. We'll see how things go!

Finished Phase 3!

Party / PC:

Spoiler:

(Death [more accurately, death] is unchanged.)

Easy peasy. The rules regarding specific natures very rarely applied. I think Aino couldn't learn TMs and, according to her Quiet nature, Tacey couldn't eat Pecha berries, lol.

Spoiler:
Ok, I actually DID play through some of this and I must say, it's been a complete nightmare so far. I did not expect things to go so badly to be fair.

Without further ado, Update 1 of my Soul Silver run:

Clumsy Trainer Ahri

Badges

Spoiler:
Named myself Ahri as usual.
Picked Chikorita as my starter. Named her Chibi.
Did all the beginning stuff, ran into my Rival, talked to the police, named rival Silver (because too lazy u.u).
Talked to my Mom and left on a journey.
Obtained Pokeballs and caught a Sentret. Named her Stubborn because it took me 3 pokeballs to catch.
Went on Route 46 and ran into a Geodude whom I named Air Slash.
Caught a Pidgey on Route 30, named him Rock Head. Stubborn the Sentret ended up fainting to a random wild Rattata at some point between catching Geodude and Pidgey because I made a wrong selection due to not paying attention. RIP Stubborn.
Caught a Rattata named Focus on Route 31. Tried catching something in the Dark Cave afterwards. Ran into a Zubat and accidentally fainted it.
Entered Violet City and Went out on Route 32 where I caught Nibble the Ekans. Carried on entering the Ruins of Alph where I ran into an E Unown which I named Elephant. Elephant's Hidden Power turned out to be Ice. On the way out of the Ruins, I accidentally managed to let Air Slash faint to an H Unown. RIP Air Slash.
Went back to Violet City, entered the Sprout Tower and battled my way to the top. Caught Psychic, the Modest Gastly whilst in there.
After obtaining Flash from the guy in the Sprout Tower, I decided to take on the Gym in spite of being severely underleveled (because too many team members xD). Things went relatively well until Falkner's Pidgeotto came out. That bastard managed to KO my Rattata, Unown, Ekans, Gastly and Pidgey, leaving me with just my underleveled Chikorita. I had to resort to poisoning the Pidgeotto and then mainly play the waiting game until I finally managed to beat Falkner just barely. So here I am, after the first gym back to 1 Pokemon. I ended up having to hatch the Togepi egg I got from Elm's aide. Named it Gracie even though it was male. Luckily, its ability turned out to be Serene Grace so yay for that!
Proceeded down Route 32, battling my way towards the Union Cave. Nearly lost Gracie along the way. I then healed at the Pokemon Center and entered Union Cave where the first encounter was a level 5 Zubat. Caught it and named it Thunder. Went back to the Pokemon Center where I saved my game and took a break.

Team

Chibi
Level 13 | Female | Lax | Overgrow @ Miracle Seed
Synthesis | Flash | Razor Leaf | Poison Powder

Gracie
Level 11 | Male | Naughty | Serene Grace
Sweet Kiss | Charm | Extrasensory | Metronome

Thunder
Level 5 | Female | Rash | Inner Focus
Leech life | Supersonic

Graveyard

Spoiler:
- Stubborn
- Air Slash
- Rock Head
(E)- Elephant
- Focus
- Nibble
- Psychic

EDIT: Union Cave is where my adventure ended. Togepi fainted itself with Metronome and I lost Chikorita to a Vulpix. Zubat was pretty useless in there too so I have deleted my save and am currently starting over.

If you'd like to play with me, you better be sure you know the game.

This sounds funny xD I have to try it.

Name: 11wildy
Game: Pokemon Crystal (edited such that I can get all trade evolutions by levelup)
Extra Clauses and Rules: I will only catch first encounters everywhere. (shinies are an exception, I can always catch and use these)
Hope it doesn't take too long between each gyms...

Edit: Cleared up to first gym without too many problems. Only Caterpie died, which didn't even levelup once.

Team:
Spoiler:

Cyndaquil
-Ember
-Tackle
-Smokescreen
-Leer

Geodude
-Rock Throw
-Tackle
-Defense Curl

Rattata
-Tackle
-Quick Attack
-Leer

Pidgey
-Gust
-Sand-Attack
-Tackle

All at level 12

Edit 2: So I continued to the next gym, putting Rattata in the PC for the tri-species challenge. Sadly, Pidgeotto died to the second rival battle...

Spoiler:

Quilava
-Ember
-Tackle
-Smokescreen
-Leer

Geodude
-Rock Throw
-Tackle
-Defense Curl
-Magnitude

Both level 17

I don't really understand the next challenge though, as my game doesn't have natures. It would be pretty stupid to just choose natures for Pokemon or something like that.. Kinda weird to do such a challenge on Crystal

Did I say I'd get this done ASAP? I lied.

A combination of life, procrastination, and a vacation have kind of hindered me (mostly the procrastination). Luckily, Ahri reminded me constantly. So I have an important announcement to make.

THE CHALLENGE WILL NOW BE RUN BY YOU PEOPLE!

So, all that you have to do is enter in the list (see below) into this website, and the hit Randomize. Click Here!

Spoiler: Here's that list I was talking about
The Monotype Challenge
The Monocolor Challenge
The Potterlocke Challenge
The Time Warp Challenge
The Anime Style Challenge
The Zodiac Challenge
The Dex Holders Challenge
The Naturelocke Challenge
The Tri-Species Challenge
The Date of Birth Challenge

The first challenge that pops up is the one that you will do during that phase. If you have played that challenge before in a different phase, then you Randomize the list once more. ;)

Now introducing the Necromancy Clause that I mentioned earlier.

If your game randomizes to a challenge where you need a specific kind of Pokemon and you had that Pokemon, but it's dead now, then by putting other Pokemon whose level(s) are equal to or higher than the dead Pokemon in your Graveyead/DeadBox, you can "revive" the Pokemon you need. This is only for the Pokemon that you need.

If you cannot continue the challenge at all, then re-randomize the list.

NOTES FROM CATMAN:

Concerning the MONOTYPE & MONOCOLOR CHALLENGES
You may choose one Pokemon type/color (to see a Pokemon's color according to the Pokedex, click here and find your Pokemon), then box all of your Pokemon that are not that type/color.

Concerning the POTTERLOCKE CHALLENGE
This challenges rules change depending on the amount of gym badges you currently have. Click Here for more details.

Concerning the TIME WARP CHALLENGE
In the original challenge, you had to choose between 14 different eras, and that edited the rules accordingly. It is no different here, choose whichever era you want. All other Pokemon that do not comply with the era's rules must be boxed until the next phase. Click Here for more details.

Concerning the ANIME STYLE CHALLENGE
The Pokemon on your team that you had for the longest amount of time is your "Bro for Life". If you couldn't evolve a Pokemon during this phase, it is up to you if you are released from that rule once the next phase starts. Click Here for more details.

Concerning the ZODIAC & DATE OF BIRTH CHALLENGES
You are only required to have one of the Pokemon that are in the parties generated by your birthdates.

Concerning the THE DEX HOLDERS' CHALLENGE
This challenge (the nicknames, at least) really only effects your new Pokemon. Choose any character you like! This challenge cannot be your final phase (the phase between your 8th badge and the champion battle).

Concerning Natures
Due to Generations I and II not having natures, use a random list generator for each of your Pokemon.

I decided I will not use the nature stuff.. it is confusing and difficult to do if I cannot just check what nature a Pokemon was again. So I randomized myself the time warp challenge. Stone age was chosen, so I can use Quilava and Geodude, just deposited Rattata for now. Sadly, I had to sacrifice the newly hatched togepi to win against Whitney using Geodude.

Team:
Geodude and Quilava, both level 20, same moves as before.

Next randomization is monocolour! I decided to go for Brown, so I could keep using geodude, evolve my Rattata into Raticate and get the Spearow from the dude north of Goldenrod. Sadly, when killing the Sudowoodo, Raticate got killed by a critical hit Rock Throw. So I replaced it with an Abra from the Goldenrod Game Corner. Then Kadabra started sweeping all Pokemon from the Ecruteak gym, but sadly, the gym leader´s Gengar lived with a tiny bit of health and one-shot Kadabra with a Shadow Ball... Graveler then finished off Morty.

Team:
Graveler lvl 25
-Magnitude
-Rock Throw
-Headbutt
-Selfdestruct

Fearow lvl 23
-Peck
-Fury Attack
-Leer
-Growl

Edit: For the next part I rolled the Dex Holder challenge. I decided to do the exchanger's challenge, so I can keep Fearow and Quilava and train up the Tyrogue.

Well, time for Take 2 of my challenge in Soul Silver after a shameful wipe out before.

Ahri the (not as) clumsy trainer
Phase 4- Monotype

Badges

Spoiler:
I picked Cyndaquil as my starter this time around (still love you, Chikorita <3) and named it Hino. Did the beginning stuff, named rival Zed, obtained Pokeballs.
I caught Fruity the Hardy Hoothoot on Route 29, Pebble the Geodude on Route 46, Wild Zubat the Pidgey on Route 30 and Breaker the Weedle on Route 31. I used my trainer ID to get a Wooper Egg from Primo then decided not to catch anything on 32 since I had the Wooper Egg.
Hatched Derpy the Wooper, did the whole Belsprout tower thing, failed to catch anything at the tower. Took on the 1st Gym and it was super easy this time around. Obtained Rock Smash from the guy on whatever that route was then carried on towards Azalea. My 3 pokemon for the tri species bit of the challenge were Quillava, Geodude and Wooper.
I failed to catch anything in the Cave and in the Slowpoke Well.
I lost Fruity fairly early in a training session, Hino fell to Bugsy's Scyther. Togepi hatched in Azalea Town.
I sorted my team out for the naturelock bit of the challenge and started an intense training session to level Cadbury the Togepi, Wild Zubat the Pidgey and Breaker the Weedle right before Azalea Town.
Faced my Rival, entered Ilex forest, retrieved the 2 farfetch'd and caught Moonlight the Oddish. Accidentally taught both Derpy and Pebble Rock Smash. Taught Beedril Cut. Taught Togepi Headbutt. Accidentaly lost Beedrill right after the forest. Some time aftr that, as I was grinding my team on the trainers past Goldenrod, I lost Pidgey and Togepi as well. I got Kenya the Spearow from the guy north of Goldenrod. Evolved it and then gave it to that other guy after I beat Whitney. At some point on Route 34 I caught Creep, the Drowzee.
I battled Whitney using Moonlight and Pebbles and eventually won after some bs RNG. Got the SquirtBottle and caught Substitute, the Sudowoodo turning my Ground monotype into a rock monotype, using Geodude & Sudowoodo.
At some point I caught 6PunchBug the Ledyba via Headbutting trees in the national park and Exeggcute on Route 35(?).
Failed to catch anything on Route 37 as I fainted the Stantler that showed up.
Reached Ecruteak & saved.

I finally returned from my Holiday, so I can do some progress now. If I remember correctly, I was in Nuzlocke Phase, so I'll start my game today and play a little.

Nuzlocke Phase
- Right at the start, I should say that I was so bored of Nuzlockes lately, so I was just playing somehow...
- I randomly chose starter -> Torchic
- I beat Route 101, 103 and Forest encounters, because I didn't realized, that I should catch them
- I caught Route 102 encounter - Lotad
- Beat Roxanne without problems

Tri-Species Phase
- I caught Taillow o Route 116
- This part was kind of boring too, because I only used Taillow/Swellow which was something I would do anyway, even without "Tri-Species mode"
- Beat Brawly just with Taillow

Naturelocke Phase
- I didn't get good natures...
Combusken is Impish
Lombre is Impish
Swellow is Sassy
- I couldn't do anything with Impish and thanks to Sassy nature, Swellow could use only Wing Attack (nothing new)
- I caught Impish Sableye
- Saved right before Wattson
