So as a follower of my local gyms (Team Valor Forever!) I had an idea. Anyone else think it would be a good idea to have a website available to see the total number of gyms, and statistics of who controls what percentage, length of time gyms have been held by a certain team, and other basic statistics on everything from a local to global level? I feel like it would be a great way to increase the competition factor.

People have certainly mentioned this before, and it would really be a neat idea, but I can only speculate as to how difficult that would be to manage. Heck, the gyms just near me are changing hands constantly - at two in the morning, mind you! It'd be a great way to increase the competitive factor, I agree... but by the time you check the website and get to that location, it would have changed no less than three times, I imagine.

Still. Having a map of stops and gyms would be convenient, even if it somewhat spoils the "exploration" feeling GO is supposed to be all about. Many different people are compiling lists and making maps; we even have a list in the making here.

I feel like it won't be too long until a proper map with all locations is released. I've seen a lot of people online say they've worked out exactly where to find stops and gyms with 99% certainty so if that's true, it shouldn't be too difficult to apply this on a global scale. As for the team control %s, that would be wonderful to have but I feel like that's a bit of a stretch given how ridiculously often they're changing haha. Maybe it'd work once the popularity dies down a little?
