Pokémon Storage Upgrade?

So you can exchange 200 Pokécoins to get an upgraded Pokémon Storage System in Pokémon GO. This upgrade increases the amount of Pokémon you can store by 50, much like buying the bag upgrade increases your maximum storage capacity by 50 each time you upgrade.

Cool, but much of how you play GO is dependent on you transferring Pokémon to earn yourself some sweet, sweet candy - so why would anyone currently spend their hard-earned Pokécash on what could arguably be a pointless cause? Do you really need to carry THAT much more Pidgey around? Or, do you think perhaps it's there for when future generations are released and catching them all becomes a little more daunting?

Have you upgraded your storage system? Do you plan to?

Lol...I upgraded it by accident. And it hasn't helped me much at all.

The closest it's come is when I'm at my hotspot farming (3 lured stops in one area with 3 more lured stops within 50 yards). I have literally 0 seconds of downtime when I'm there, between hitting the stops and catching pokemon. A bigger bag means I can keep catching and then handle the transfers later (usually on the toilet) so that I'm not using precious lucky-egg seconds at my hotspot to do transfers.

i doubt this upgrade will be much use until more generations are added or unless someone is really really saving up loads of pidgeys to evolve with a lucky egg
There are many forces in this world.
Some are good, some are bad.
Some we can see and some we can't.
Some we know about and others we are yet to discover.
Don't let anyone tell you anything is impossible.
For there is no one in this world you can truly know for sure.

Never have purchased this and probably never will. I can see myself maybe stretching for it when the later generations are released but really what reason is there to hold onto a 600 CP Clefable or 1000 CP Arbok etc by that stage? I currently keep one copy of every Pokémon (just the highest CP version I have) but I don't think I'll have any problem in throwing most of them away if it means not having to buy these upgrades.

This upgrade is actually great for people just starting off... Imagine being able to hold 500 pokemon before you power evolve to level 15

It helps you stay a lower level so you can keep catching low level pokemon!

I mean I guess it would be handy to hold onto all those Pidgey, Weedle, and Caterpie to do some incredible leveling all at once, but honestly, I think that's just getting a bit excessive. In the time you took to catch all those and horde them, you could have just been transferring and evolving as you went. Maybe the statistics would disagree with me, but that's just too much.

Pretty sure the only way I'm going to buy more Pokémon storage is if the latter generations are released and they don't automatically increase your storage. Other than that, it's soooo not worth my precious Pokécoins!

It's not about leveling up faster, the lower level you are, the lower level the pokemon you catch will be! If i were to create another account right now, after playing through to where I am now, I would definitely upgrade my pokemon storage.

Sure you level up just as fast with catching and transferring as you go but you're gonna have to try harder to catch all those 200cp pidgeys! I personally don't transfer and level up as I go, I catch 400 pokemon (fill up my storage) and do it all at once with one lucky egg that way I'm catching the lowest cp possible.
