Me and a bunch of my other friends were talking about how it seems that with every new Pokemon Go update it makes the game worse or is disappointing. The first one came with two glitches: 1) Frozen Pokeball Glitch and 2) Three-step Glitch. The next one didn't fix any of the big issues. Then the newest update though it has a few good features, tried to please us by removing the footprint system all together in an attempt to fix the Three-step glitch. I honestly feel as if they keep it up with these disappointing updates, that the game will soon lose most of the popularity it managed to obtain within the first two weeks of its release. It just seems as if the game isn't as fun as it was before all the updates. Am I the only one who feels this way?

They have fixed most the glitches, for example the 1hp gym glitch, the Pokeballs glitch (ok not completely fixed but it's much rarer now), the server downtime has barely been an issue for me recently. I have no idea how many lines of code Pokemon go uses but from experience to change 1 small thing needs lots of lines of code modified so it doesn't create more issues. The 3 step bug/removal was mainly because of server issues so they need to either a) improve their servers, b) wait for a big drop of in activity so extra activity doesn't stretch server capacity or c) put in a different system that doesn't put strain on servers.
I understand that it is frustrating when things work then they used to but the game will take some time to iron out al problems, it will be worth it to stick around but it's clear that not everyone will. Niantic also need to find a way for people to keep people interested even if they losing interest, the app needs to be able to track egg steps even if it's minimised, then if people have got to open the app to hatch the egg it will remind them about it
There are many forces in this world.
Some are good, some are bad.
Some we can see and some we can't.
Some we know about and others we are yet to discover.
Don't let anyone tell you anything is impossible.
For there is no one in this world you can truly know for sure.

I don't really take into account the nearby menu anymore. Because about 100% of the time any new Pokémon that spawns near me was never on the nearby menu to begin with.

And so far I've only seen one Pokémon on the nearby map that actually spawned and I think it was just a coincidence. Even when it's filled of Pidgey's and Weedle's and no Rattata's at all, 2 Rattata's will spawn.

To be honest I don't think the 3 steps was the only thing broken about the nearby menu, I think everything was broken with the nearby menu.

While they weren't really the updates I had hoped for, I still think Niantic is doing a good job with their fixes. GO is popular beyond belief right now and they're at least addressing the issues at hand, albeit a bit slower than we gamers often expect things. Server lag is at an all-time low for me - I haven't had issues in over a week, and the gym glitch is fixed.

Honestly the tracking wasn't as big a deal to me as those two annoying issues, so I'm pretty happy right now.

My thoughts basically just echo this post. The patch was by no means perfect and didn't tackle some of the big issues but we can feel sure that they will be fixed soon as they've all now been acknowledged by Niantic. The patch did a lot of good for the game including making transferring much quicker, making the menus a lot prettier and adding the widely sought-after option to change your trainer's appearance again, so whilst they could have certainly done more, I think this is a great start.

Try not to have such a developed sense of entitlement.

The three step "glitch" is most likely a concession Niantic had to make in the short term to help free up server space. Remember near the launch when every few hours the servers would go down? No more of that. Servers are amazing. Don't remember the last time it was down for me. The fact that they were able to fix that without rewriting the game code to upload to phones first rather than be hosted each log-in on a server... incredible to me, but then I don't know that much about programming.

For me, I'm just going to keep playing and having a complete ball.

Sounds good, doesn't it?

You not the only one. I agree with you. I'm feeling the same. Almost impossible find a new pokemon.
