Is anyone here a fan of Stephen King? I've seen most of the movies made from his books and a lot of them are really good. Anyone have any favorite movies or books written by King?

So far I've read

The Shining
IT
The Gunslinger
The Drawing of the Three
The Waste Lands

Currently reading Salem's Lot and purchased The Stand. I'm definitely going forward in the Dark Tower series so after that and The Stand, does anyone have any recommendations of what I should read next?

My favorite movie is probably Carrie but there are a lot of good ones. Stand By Me, The Shawshank Redemption, The Green Mile. Also Children of the Corn is a guilty pleasure :)

The Dark Tower series is really the only King book that I've seen recommended or discussed. I think that one is your best bet for the best reading of King's work.

Since I'm not a big movie watcher, I've actually read The Green Mile. I made the mistake of reading it during a power outage. But it was a really powerful book, and one I still think about to this day.

One book you should read is On Writing. It's not just writing advice, but it also gives an autobiography of Stephen King's life, including how he developed a few of his novels. There's quite a bit in there about Carrie and The Stand.

I remember reading a lot of his books a couple years ago. Though, the only ones I remember are The Shining and his Dark Tower series. Remember there being quite a bit of controversy of how the series ended. However, I really liked the ending.

Unfortunately I know the ending but I'm sure it's great anyway. So far it's fantastic.

Audio books are a beautiful thing. I'm half way through The Stand which I'm physically reading at home and when I go to work I put in headphones and listen to audio books. Just finished The Dead Zone.
