Ban them? *shakes head* You're joking, right?

Anywho... as Andy said, the original idea came from CC; I was just restating it. People didn't seem to like it back when the birthday forum was suggested, but of course, things change.

Just stick all celebrations in there, and make a sticky thread for postcount, with a rule like, "You may congratulate a person here for each time their postcount increases by 10,000." If the forum becomes spammy, then disable postcount there. How about it?

Wow...That would be ironic XD

Anyways, yeah, I think a celebrations forum would do better. Birthdays, moddings, promotions, etc. It could all fit there better than having it spread around and clogging up OC and Q&F. Umm...nothing else to say XD

I'm tired of seeing an entirely new thread EVERY SINGLE TIME someone (especially when it's someone of absolutely no importance) gets a lot of posts or reaches the one-year mark. I have a feeling people are just going around looking for people and just making threads about them for the sake of making threads. It's absolutely ridiculous seeing everyone pee their pants over something this unimportant. Merely being at this board for a year isn't much of an achievement. Or, at least it SHOULDN'T. It's like saying "Whoo! You didn't get bored of us! Let's throw a freaking parade! You're our hero!". It's absurd. Can't we just have ONE THREAD dedicated to this sort of thing, as opposed to FIFTY?
Well, every person here is important. Yes, the sun doesn't shine on the a*ses of those who are better at things such as programing or fanart, or moderaters and admins and whatnot. This is a big forum. There are lots of threads going to be made. If you don't like reading them, then don't.

The only things that annoy me here are "goodbye"s, then the person deciding to stay. That really gets to me. For god sake, don't make a stupid thread if you're not going to leave.

Anyway, the "bad" threads are usually closed. Whether the thread is made by someone "important" or not doesn't matter. As long as it keeps at least ONE other member intrested, then it's doing something good for the forum.

Leaving threads have been disallowed for quite some time now. They're usually created out of pity, so we close 'em, and allow all temporary absences to be noted in the Leave of Absence thread (stickied in New Users)...

...although lately, people are starting to randomly leave and bring it up in DCC, or some other random active thread. x.x;

On another forum I visit often, there was one case when somebody made 3 leaving threads, but just kept on coming back. He's now permanately back and is a good friend of mine. I think if somebody wants to leave, they don't need access to the site, right? So why not make an "Ex-Member" group which has the same properties as the "Banned" member group?

I don't really like the idea of promotion threads in there. They should stay in Q&F because it's more for PC then the member (in some ways like, ... got promoted to Mod in ... forum so just letting you guys know etc).

I actually totally agree with Andys first post, I just say we leave it, i mean, we only have like.. 6 people who have reached 10k, but already most have them have just reached there 20k, but really, you could say 10k is big, and we just dont get lil spammy n00bs getting 10k do we? o.o;, most of our 10k+ posters are really popular, and all the people who i know who have reached 10k, put there time and effort to attend and whatever, and if we had a celebration forums, who knows, people might be coming up with really silly celebrations, that would probably mean nothing, i just say the only threads we need for, are 10k, maybe 20k+, and 1 or 2 year PC anniversary threads, but if we make the forum, God knows what other people will think of, so i just think we leave it, and keep it how it is, because meh, its not spamming up the OC much, not like the birthday threads kinda were back before they had a forum, then it stopped, so, I really dont see a problem Oo;.

Meh, just my personal opinion XD

I haven't worked out why Leave of Absence is in New Users yet. It used to be in OC, doesn't it still fit better there?

"One reason why mathematics enjoys special esteem, above all other sciences, is that its laws are absolutely certain and indisputable, while those of other sciences are to some extent debatable and in constant danger of being overthrown by newly discovered facts."
Albert Einstein

"What science can there be more noble, more excellent, more useful for men, more admirably high and demonstrative than mathematics."
Benjamin Franklin

"Mathematics, rightly viewed, possesses not only truth, but supreme beauty – a beauty cold and austere, like that of sculpture, without appeal to any part of our weaker nature, without the gorgeous trappings of paintings or music, yet sublimely pure and capable of a stern perfection such as only the greatest art can show."
Bertrand Russell
