Do you guys tend to enjoy the original more than the remake or vice versa? For example, do you like red/blue/yellow more, or firered/leafgreen more??

Obviously the remakes bring a lot to the game that the original didn't have, so that's one of the cooler sides of it. I tend to enjoy the original more for nostalgia reasons, though. I find it's almost easier to look at the remakes as completely separate Pokemon games because otherwise I just get nit-picky about all the things they didn't keep the same.

I love RBY! Though Gen III were my first games ever and I only played Gen I pretty recently, the number of amazing bugs to exploit made it a ton of fun to play and mess with. FireRed and LeafGreen are still great games and I love them to bits as well. ^_^

As for the rest of the remakes, the only one I actually prefer to its original game is HGSS. ORAS is great as well, though it doesn't compare to the amazingness that is Emerald. I mean, case in point, it didn't have Champion Wallace, the most stylishest of the champions. However, Gen II is my least favorite generation and HGSS's beautiful artwork and interesting features stole the show when it comes to remakes. It also actually included storyline elements from Crystal, while none of the other remakes included story changes added to the third game.

It depends. With Gen 1, I'll always go with the originals, anyday. I found FRLG to be rather underwhelming, disappointing games, and the originals will always have a special charm to them, warts and all. Plus, I've just never liked GBA era graphics, music, or mechanics.

As for Gen 2, I still prefer Crystal the best, but HGSS aren't bad either. Unlike FRLG, these remakes actually look and feel really nice and polished, and they at least put effort into fixing GSC's flaws and adding new content that wasn't in the originals.

I'm not a fan of Hoenn or Gen 3 at all, so I can't really choose one for those games.

In most cases I prefer the originals but this is purely because of nostalgia reasons. I do prefer FRLG over RBY because FireRed was the first Pokemon game I ever played, apart from this, I like GSC and RSE over their remakes because of nostalgia. Don't get me wrong, all of remakes were amazing and super fun to play, but nostalgia keeps me mostly tied to the originals :)

Remakes are probably better for me. They bring back old regions and adds new things to them, such as the Pokeathlon in HGSS and the Delta Episode in ORAS.

I like the originals for the nostalgia, but I enjoy the remakes a lot more because they have all the best things about the originals, but updated to make them even better. The originals will always have a special place in my heart and it is fun to play them to see how things have changed, but the remakes are great at what they do.
