All past generation pseudo-legendaries have been Dragon-type. With Sun and Moon around the corner, what type of Pokemon would you like to see for the regions pseudo? Maybe continue the trend of Dragon-types? Perhaps an even more over-powered Fairy type?

I'm currently taking this with a grain of salt, but I think Jangmo-o has the potential to be the pseudo-legend of this generation since it looks like something I could imagine evolving twice, and there's the common trend that the pseudo-legends tend to be Dragon-types as well.

I have thought this too. Really ever since I saw it, it just screamed pseudo, just because of it's size. I was really hoping they'd break the chain of Dragon-type pseudo's though D:

I was hoping they would stray away from that too, so I hope this isn't the pseudo. It would make each generation's pseudo more special if they weren't all dragons. Obviously this is the seventh generation, but it would be nice to have a change in pseudo legendary typing. I know that would draw me towards it more.

With the way the games seem to be set-up, and seem to be evolving, compared to previous games anyway, it would make a vast amount of sense to do it now.

I agree that Jangmo-o has a high potential to be pseudo. I like that, and I don't. I agree that another Dragon type is boring, but it looks like it could have the potential to be pretty cool if designed right.
I personally have been hoping for a Water type pseudo legendary. Sun/Moon is based in Hawaii, so why not make the most powerful non-legendary a Water type? It would be different from the rest, which I would like.

Not all Pseudos have been Dragons, remember we have Tyranitar and Metagross.

I think Jangmo-o may also be a pseudo, but for some reason, I think we will have 2 pseudo lines this generation, similar to Hoenn. I think Fairy has a high chance of getting one. Tyranitar was one when dark was released and Metagross was released right after steel types came out.

Jangmo-o is probably Fighting or Steel, as they are said to be like warriors.

As for what else I would like to see, would like Fairy/Bug or Fairy/Ice for a Pseudo.

This gens pseudo is looking like it will be Jangmo-o. As soon as I saw it I immediately thought it would be a pseudo-legendary. Although, it would be nice to have a different type Pokemon for a Psuedo. Most of the time they are Dragon types, I mean.. only two of the seven aren't Dragon-types which makes it feel kinda unbalanced.

I agree that Jangmo-o screams 'pseudo'. It sort of resembles a cross between Gible and Axew to me, in a way. I can see it gaining the Steel-type as it evolves, which would at least give it some points of differentiation.

However I do agree that it would be good to have more diversity in the pseudos, and Gen VII would be a good time to have some more of that diversity. I'd personally really like to see an Electric-type pseudo. There aren't a lot of three-stage Electric-types as is so that would be an instant point of differentiation there.

Grass-type pseudo please, Grass-type need more love with its 5 weaknesses for now, a boost is needed ^^

Yeah Jangmo-o feels like the pseudo to me, though I'm not gonna lie, I thought Jangmo-o is the fossil Pokemon before i realized it's a dragon-type, thanks to Amaura and Tyrunt, i thought we get more dinosaur in gen 7, it's a shame but oh well...

It definitely seems like Jangmo-o is going to be our pseudo this time around, but maybe it's not alone? I want to believe they're going to pull a Hoenn and add another, non-Dragon type pseudo-legendary. I'd like to see something different, because it's going to be pretty interesting to see what they can come up with for a non-dragon pseudo. But frankly, I doubt there is another one, no matter what I want.

I know this sounds stupid but .... Pyukumuku xD Idk, when I look at Pyukumuku it reminds me of Goomy, whose final evolution happened to become a pseudo so... I can still dream for a water type pseudo-legend.
If that doesn't happen, Jangmo-o is probably going to take the place ^_^

Jangmo-o will hopefully be a chainmail dragon with a lot of "heart". But really, I hope the "heart" design remains the focal point of its evolutions.

It's obvious to me that the evolution will be a dragon/steel type rather than dragon/fighting as has been speculated by others. First off, the name "jang" comes from "jangle", to make or cause to make a ringing metallic sound, typically a discordant one. This description fits Jangmo-o's ability soundproof as well as hinting to it's typing as steel. Moreover, "jangle" is often used in literature to refer to jangling of metal chains. For those reasons, I expect his evolutions to resemble a fully armored pokemon with chainmail scales on the body and a winged helm stemming from his little ear/wing like tufts on his head.

Couldn't really find an image with a dragon wearing chainmaile, but I am thinking something like this armour + chainmail.

^ oooo I could absolutely get behind a design like that. Speaking of the etymology of Jangmo-o's name, any idea where the "mo-o" comes from?

Bulbapedia says that mo-o is Hawaiian for lizard or dragon.

It seems to relate to these in Hawaiian mythology:
http://visitcryptoville.com/2015/09/30/hawaiis-moo-tiny-gecko-seductive-woman-or-water-dragon/

And I think it will be fighting dragon and the pseudo.

If we get another, I'd love to see a different type, maybe an ice type? Fairy makes sense as well. There are a lot of things that could be done for pseudo's outside of just dragon.

As long as Jangmo-o-o-o-o-o-oo-o-o-o-o-o keeps it's prehistoric/jurassic design I'm more than happy for it to be the pseudo.
That aside, I'm not really bothered either way. I've loved all the pseudo's so far (except maybe Beldum) so I'm not really worried about disliking it.

It's totally Jangmo-o. I'm hoping it evolves to be a proper quadruped kind of dragon. Dragon/Steel please. :)

I'm honestly fine with Dragon-Type pseudos. The pseudo-legendary Pokemon is a repeated gimmick in the first place, so I don't really understand the complaint that a Dragon-Type pseudo is too repeated or gimmicky.

I can't speak for everyone, but I think most of us are pretty sure it's Jangmo-o. It looks like it has a gimmick that's going to be more emphasized in its evolutions (the heart).

What really gave it away for me was the official description: "In its pursuit to become stronger, it never neglects its training". That whole training to become stronger thing just screams big bad___ final evolution. If I'm not mistaken, Bagon had a similar description. Maybe it was about wanting to fly or something.

I'm a little disappointed because I was hoping we'd get another type-break. Metagross was such an amazing creation. Here's fingers crossed we'll get two!
