Hey, I have been having lots of trouble changing the starter pokemon in my rom hack to custom pokemon. A-Starter only does the original pokemon from what I've seen so far. It would be really nice if someone could recommend me a program or tell me if there is a way I could do it with A-Starter!

Which ROM are you using? You can edit the starters in any game with a hex editor, but if you're using Fire Red you can do it with a script editor.

Yes, you just have to change the hex for givng Pokémon to include their number. It's one part of the code! Otherwise agree with the last comment.

It might be a bit diffrent in RSE.

Use PGE. It supports expanded Pokemon.

My rom is Fire Red
I'm not very good with script editing, I have all of the tools I need tho...
Any simple tutorials I can look at? I have been looking, but all I seem to find are
very complicated and they don't explain the script very well.

You only have to include this command in xse...
Givepokemon 0xdex_entry 0xlvl .....and some more fillers which will show up when you start typing....
.
And for your information scripting is one of the most basic ability that you need to make an hack... i suggest you to start viewing at scripting tutorials....
