Actually, I've heard that Nintendo sold Rare to Microsoft 5 years ago and it still baffles me. Since then, Rare was repsonsible for making alof of hit games during the N64 and early Gamecube era and right now, look how they are standing with Xbox and 360. All what they've made was just mediocre games. It seems Rare has lost its touch since they're now owned by Microsoft.
I forgot when Rare sold off. But I don't think it was 5 years ago.
Ok I just found out when, it was Sep of 02. Nintendo sold off it's 49% stock in the company (what a stupid move for Nintendo). That's why RareWare only made games for Nintendo (they owned 49% of the stock, with that much ownership they had some push power with Rare). 3 days later Microsoft walks in and buys up that 49% to take Rare.
Rare is a third party game maker. Just like Square or Namco or Capcom or any of the others. But Nintendo just owned most of the stock and Rare was getting killer sells from Nintendo so they didn't make games for anyone else.

So this is now the Nintendo Fanclub? Do I have to rejoin or something? Sorry for the stupid questions... :embarrass
No you don't have to rejoin Johto Boy. But you can join the Nintendo group. Just go to "User CP" and under "Miscellaneous" you'll see "Group Memberships", find "The Nintendo Gaming Guild" and then click the icon and then "Join Group". You'll have it in your profile showing you're apart of the group.

I'm sure that if Nintendo made such a drastic move it must have been for a reason ^.^;;

I've heard that a lot of 3rd parties dislike Nintendo because Gamecube and DS are so much more difficult to make games for seeing as they have such unique hardware.
Well, they obviously sold it to get money, why else would you sell something.

First of all: 3rd parties don't dislike the GC or DS(especially the DS!!!). The reason third parties tend to not make as many games for the GC than the PS2 or X Box is because they feel that they will make more money by releasing a game to a much higher installed base(PS2) or to a more "mature" audience(X Box), not because they dislike the GC or the developement is hard. As for the DS, you must be on crack, 3rd parties absolutely love the DS. It cost less to develop games on the DS than it is for the other high profile option(PSP) and the DS even has a higher installed base than the PSP so the game will move off the shelves quicker. I kind of get what you mean on the difficulty in making a game for the DS. Not that it's actually difficult to make a game for it but it's more like how are they going to take advantage of the touchscreen and mic of the DS, I think developers like the challenge though.

I'm not incharge, but I think they should let you join.

Sorry for not getting on for a while! ^^;
I've been very busy. I think the DSL looks cool, and I was probably going to trade in for a DS with a different coler and packed in game, so yeah.
Sig under Construction!!!

Sorry to dissapoint you, but last I heard Nintendo said it was going to be released around Thanksgiving. I can't find the place I saw it though.

Yeah, Nintendo said they were going to release the Rev around Thanksgiving time. May 9th would be before E3 which wouldn't make sense since they are going to 'fully unveil' the Rev at E3.

The DS Lite looks pretty cool, I hope they release a black one in the US this time.

Nintendo said they would release the DS Lite in three colors, including the white one already shown. They didn't say what they would be yet, hopefully one is black.

Sure you can, welcome to the club Naruto-Uzumaki. If you want you can also join our PC group.

I'm going for a black DSLite. It'll match my Revolution. XD
Unless they're going to have a red Lite. If so then I'm going with that.

So Arcanine, if you get a red DS Lite and they 'coincidentally' release a red Rev too, what color Rev would you get then?

I want a black DS Lite and a black Rev, it will be awesome to have them matching. Has anyone found a picture of a black Rev controller?

You mean a Red Rev like the one in this pic? XD
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v87/Arcanine_88/Revolution6.jpg

Nah, I'm going for a black Rev. And if we (me and my brother) get two then the second will most likely the grey/silver one.

Personally I'd love a green Rev. But not if it's that sickly green in that pic.
If those turn out to be the final colors, it's down to either the black or silver for me.

Yeah, a red one like that one. I agree with you, I'm going for the black one. Seriously though, I can't find a pic of a black Rev controller!

When Nintendo says "expandable memory" for the Rev and its 512 MB of storage do they mean SD cards and external HDDs or do they mean that you will be able to purchase extra memory to put on the Rev kind of like for a PC? I know that SD cards and possibly HDDs but I havn't heard of the PC-like memory. What do you think?

That's the only pic I've seen with a black controller.

(a pic Jake sent me a few months back XD)

I bet it's SD cards for the "expandable memory". To me it's kind of small for a removable HDD.

Finally, I see a black Rev controller, though way back in my mind I know I've seen this picture. Nice Sony mock-up. XD

Yeah, SD cards seem to be the way to go, the removable HDD would probably be bigger than the Rev itself if it was a high GB HDD. It would be cool if you could use your MP3 player for storage, like an i-Pod.

Now that you say it, that wouldn't be a half bad idea. Well I mean some iPods have up to 60gig HDDs (I also know they're into the 300-400 dollar range for them). They're small, so if the Rev had removable HDDs then they could be that size and fit into the Rev without taking up much space. Sure they'd have different sizes gig sizes, but something like that would work.

Yeah, the same guy who worked on SSBM will be working on SSBR. I would imagine that Hal will still be the team behind SSBR, I could be wrong.

If you have a black i-Pod Nano or video it would match the color of the Revolution, if you get a black one, the white one would match too. I wonder if it will be able to stream video or music that you may have on your i-Pod or an SD card.

Maybe, maybe not.
The Rev will have USB ports so maybe they will be able to hook up.

But what I was thinking is a removable hard drive the size of an iPod. I mean the Rev is small, but if it had removable HDDs that's that small (the iPod size) then it'd work. Nintendo would have their removable hard drives for their system.

You know what would be even cooler?

If Nintendo makes a removable HDD like you said and it had a firmware to make your Rev play DVD's(the dongle). Then it could be a two in one, and I'm sure Nintendo will price it cheap so the HDD won't drive away customers who were just looking for the dongle. What do you think?

It'd be easier than buying a bunch of little memory cards that are easy to lose x_x

But yeah, I think you're on the right track. HD = Good.

And also, I'm really made they aren't including HDTV. Not that I have one, but still x-x

Ahh, the EDTV(480p) they are putting in the Rev is good enough for me, we are buying an HD pretty soon but I'm going to keep the Rev in my room not the living room. Has anybody played the GC on 480p? Echoes and Resident Evil 4 look freakin sweet on that.
