Platinum Single Mono-Poison Run Update #8

Progress:
Spoiler:

- Got through the northern part of Mt. Coronet to get to Route 216.
- Took care of the trainers in the routes before Snowpoint.
- Candice was easy. Her Sneasel was destroyed from a Brick Break from Pepe the Toxicroak, her Froslass was a piece of cake for Lammermoor the Gengar, the PIloswine died from a Giga Drain from Buddy the Roserade and the Abomasnow was Cross-Poisoned to death by Roy Batty the Crobat.
- Went to Lake Acuity so see my Rival's ass getting kicked by Jupiter.
- Went Rock Climbing through Sinnoh and found some useful TMs like Ice Beam, which I immediately taught to Japan th Tentacruel
- Started clearing up the Galactic HQ and found TM Sludge Bomb. It was hart to tell which Pokmon should learn it, but in the end I chose Buddy, leaving Lammermoor with no STAB poison type move for the rest of the playthrough.
- Ended up taking care of the HQ defeating Cyrus and Saturn. Nex time, I'll be going through Mt. Coronet and take part of the climax of the story.

Then give Honchkrow focus band. Got off a thunder wave.
Then cheesed it out with bullet punch paralysis and Muk.
Oof that was a tough.
Well shes down and happy to be pass that.
Any other dark monotypers have trouble with that totem mon?
(EDIT: In retrospect I probably couldve focus sashed Bishard and used the Steelium Z :|)

I know I seem impossibly far from the finish line but my last 2 runs haven't been added to the list nor has one of the 2 on the list been updated to show I finished gen 1.
In other news I started a water mono-type because I need serious help.

Forum User Name: Xemnahort
Game(s): Blue, rest tbd
Pokémon Type: Water
Single/Ultimate/Free Mode?: Ultimate

Actually started a while ago just forgot to post but here's the situation.
Grabbed Squirtle didn't name it (didn't name any this time)
Spent an absurd amount of time to beat rival before indigo league.
Caught a Spearow.
Beat Brock silly.
Bought a Magikarp for cheap.
Started training Magikarp as I progressed through Mt. Moon.
Evolved Squirtle to Wartortle.
Caught a Clefairy to use Flash and Teleport.
Reached Cerulean and (again) spent a long time fighting Rival.
Struggled but eventually beat Misty still using just Wartortle
Progressed to just before Vermillion where I got Magikarp far enough to rare candy the rest of the way to Gyarados.
Went to S.S. Anne to kick names and take ass including Rival's.
Went through Diglett cave to get Flash.
Traded for a Farfetch'd to use Fly and Cut.
Beat Lt. Surge through excessive use of Dig with minimal difficulty.
Went back to Cerulean for Bike.
Went thru Rock Tunnel and made it to Lavender Town.
Went to Celadon and grabbed an Eevee to tide me over til I got the real rest of the team.
Evolved Eevee to Vaporeon.
Gave Lemonade to guard to access Saffron.
Beat Rocket Corner for Silph Scope.
Cleared Pokemon Tower including Rival with little effort and gained Poke Flute.
Went South to beat Snorlax on Route 11 and got Super Rod on Route 12.
Circled back past Vermilion to use Super Rod and catch Shellder.
Proceeded to Cycling Road and onto Fuchsia.
Used Super Rod on Route 19 to get Staryu.
Benched Vaporeon and went thru Safari Zone to get Gold Teeth and Surf.
Gave Gold Teeth to Warden to get Strength.
Evolved Shellder to Cloyster after learning Clamp.
Returned to Celadon and stopped.

Next up I will finally challenge Erika for my 4th badge.

Wartortle lvl 35

Gyarados lvl 33

Shellder lvl 26

Staryu lvl 16

OMG, my last post was this:

Spoiler:
The Ultimate Monotype Challenge!

Yellow, HeartGold, Sigma Σmerald, Platinum, White 2, X, Sun.

4. Pokémon Platinum Fighting Monotype update No. 3: The scary Fantina!!

We left last time just after beating Gardenia, so Jupiter was the immediate challenge we had to face. Monferno beat the Zubat with 2 Flame Wheels, taking a lot of damage from Wing Attack. Sadly, Skuntank beat Machop with 2 Night Slashes and Poison (could not hit it with Guts-boosted moves a lot, he critted me in his second move), but it was easy for Heracross to finish the battle with 2 Brick Breaks. I went to catch Rotom for fun after the battle xD.

The Cycling road was a bit annoying as Machop was underleveled and trainers had multiple Starly and Staravia, tough opponents for Machop, and I also had some unlucky moments, but nothing too bad. But the worst was yet to come: Wayward Cave. I will never, ever, explore it without Repels again. The secret part of it, with the Bike section, OMG! I couldn't do it! It was Wild Pokémon after Wild Pokémon after Wild Pokémon, stopping my bike! I got a bit angry xD, but the reward was worth it: TM 26 Earthquake. I haven't taught it to anyone yet, it's a very important TM and one I don't want to waste (I wasted it on Heracross in Heart Gold, so it's not for Heracross). I also explored the other part of the cave, helping Mira to get out of the labyrinth.

Before reaching Hearthome City, I caught 2 important Pokémon: A Bibarel (HM Slave), and a Male Ralts! It was Hardy, so not bad as Kirlia and not bad as Gallade, I guess. I reached Hearthome and before going to the gym, I collected some items and equipped them to my team: Exp. Share for Ralts, Shell Bell for Heracross and Amulet Coin for Monferno. With the Exp. Share, battling gym trainers, Ralts reached lv 20 and evolved into Kirlia! Time to do the gym battle!

So scared... I remembered Fantina being very very tough even in a normal run, and Fighting-types (and Kirlia) are bad against her. I struggled with Gym trainers, to make matters worse, so yeah. Before entering the battle, I noticed I had an X Attack and an X Speed. I feel using this type of items is a bit cheap, but here I had no choice, my strongest moves against her were Heracross' Aerial Ace and Monferno's Flame Wheel xD. First up was Duskull. I set up Heracross against it, using the 2 items, and she went for Future Sight and... WILL-O-WISP! YES! THANK YOU! She activated Guts! A single Aerial Ace destroyed both Duskull and Haunter! Mismagius managed to survive one and hit with Psybeam, but didn't do too much damage, and the second Aerial Ace finished the battle! HERACROSS IS AMAZING! So that's the third badge! Very happy with this as I expected to struggle a lot or to actually need a lot of grinding before the battle.

And finally, the rival battle. I took the gamble and it did not pay off: Staravia beat Kirlia with 2 Quick Attacks. Kirlia left it in red because Confusion confused him, but it wasn't enough. Monferno finished Staravia off with Mach Punch. 2 Brick Breaks from Heracross beat Prinplup who made surprisingly low damage with Peck. Revenge + Vital Throw from Machop beat Ponyta, and Roselia was very easy for Monferno, a single Flame Whell was enough.

And that's it for now! (I tend to write too much xD)

Current Team:

Spoiler:
Lv 27 (M) @ Amulet Coin. Blaze.
Brave Nature. Flame Wheel, Mach Punch, Grass Knot, Taunt.

Lv 26 (M) @ Quick Claw. Guts.
Sassy Nature. Karate Chop, Seismic Toss, Revenge, Vital Throw.

Lv 27 (M) @ Shell Bell. Guts.
Jolly Nature. Brick Break, Aerial Ace, Counter, Shadow Claw.

Lv 21 (M) @ Exp. Share. Synchronize.
Hardy Nature. Confusion, Double Team, Teleport, Lucky Chant.

HM Slave: Bibarel.

Number of Badges: 3.

Current Location: Hearthome City.

Number of losses: 0.

And it was on October 7th!, it's been almost 8 months! But don't worry, I have not given up, as I knew this would happen because this was a tremendously tough year for me, but this summer I'll come back to this and finish it off!! I actually went on a bit further after this last update, caught a Croagunk and evolve Kirlia into Gallade, but didn't have important battles so I guess that's why I didn't update the post. I am just before taking on the fourth leader IIRC, that'll happen in July, and then I'll update the status of the team properly.

So the status of the challenge is this one:

Yellow, HeartGold, Sigma Σmerald, Platinum, White 2, X, Sun.

With 3 games beaten, and not very far into Platinum. All the games provided great experiences, especially HeartGold.

But I want to change something, Sun will be replaced with UltraSun! Maybe it'll be easier as I'll have Hawlucha extremely early, but as I have the updated game and I've already gone through both the ordinary Sun and Moon games, I wanna do it in UltraSun.

So a mini-update here just to tell I'm alive and about the 7th gen game swap. This Ultimate Monotype Challenge isn't over, I have not given up and I am convinced it'll be finished this summer because I had so much fun last year with it I want to continue!
Pokémon Trial Black will be coming soon! Explore Unova again in a challenging adventure with multitude of changes!

Hacks I support (I support most of them these are my favourite ones or ones I've put a lot of time on!):

Pokémon Victory Fire, Pokémon Snakewood, Pokémon Dark Energy, Pokémon Adventure: Red Story, Pokémon XG, Pokémon Gaia, and Pokémon Resolute Version.

Pokemon Soul Silver Fire Monotype Ep 9 Pryce Pryce Baby.

After my dismal failure last time, I start of with grinding, LOTS of grinding. I will not stop until all my pokemon are level 33, the same lavel as Jasmines ace. I will not fall so easily this time, and with a type advantage a victory should be surefire!

Well the level 33 was a bit overkill, so I stopped at level 31, close enough.

I decide to lead off with Nickelback, I eat a Thunderbolt, and go down immediately............. I switch in Metallica, and use Flame Wheel, and eat a T-wave in return, Jasmine uses a Hyper Potion, and I weaken Magnemite yet again with another Flame Wheel, another Hyper Potion, another Flame Wheel, eat a Thunderbolt, and finish off the Magnemite. Fir Steelix, I swap out into AC/DC, since her Flamethrower is the most powerful move I have. AND A CRIT, one hit, AC/DC comes through like a champ! I keep her in aganst the last magnemite, and burn it into a crisp too. Mineral Badge GET!

I also get TM23 Iron Tail, and now I can go off to Mahogany town. A hiker bumps into me, and gives me strength, which I teach to LinconPark. I cut down a tree and go see suicune, and get met by Eusine, called by liz, find a Max Potion by a rock, register the phone number of a fisherman, an go to the lake of rage. On the way I get mugged for 1K, get told Mikail was up here, and decide to go aftr the Gyrados! I may not be able to use it during my challenge, but I can catch it for the heck of it.

I catch the Gyrados, name it Big Red, obtain the red scale, and talk to lance, Lance recruits me to check ut the suspicious old shack in mahogany to find the source of the radio waves forcing magikarp to evolve. I heal up and go into the shack, Lance Hyper beams his way into the base. I get a few useless items, TM49 snatch, and work on evolving my Quilava. I learn Lava Plume along da wey, and just as expected, I meet my rival Mikail, but no battle...... I obtain TM46 Theif, and find Giovanni........ Nah, just Petrel who goes down easily, not worth a recap, just Lava Plume spam. A Murkrow helps me in the door so I can stop the Electrode, BUT then come Ariana tries to double team me!

Well, here comes good guy Lance to the rescue. Vulpix handles Drowzee and Arbok, Dragonite wrecks Grimer, and AC/DC falls to a critical. Great...... Metallica finishes the deal, and hits a paralyzed Dragonite as well. Leveling up to level 36. I switch in Nickelback to get XP, expecting the Dragonite to get the KO, Dragonite flies up into the sky, and gets paralyzed, and Nickelback gets the kill. Metallica starts to evolve, right on schedule, and now I have a Typhlosion! TUrns out we need to faint all of the Electrode, I decide to have GunsNRoses take the lead, since he has dig. I obtain HM05 Whirlpool.

I start my tear through the gym, turns out the AI here are smart enough to switch pokemon. I engage pryce, and go stright for headbutt spam, he counters with a hail. Seal dies, I star with dig, does not do much, Piloswine mud bombs me, I start headbutt spamming, get a flinch, switch into LincolnPark, and kill the Piloswine. Dewgong comes in, I miss Fire Punch, eat an Auroua Beam, Fire Punch gets eaten up, I use Confuse Ray, heal up, and time for strength spamming. I start missing every attack, heal up my AC/DC, and sacrifice LincolnPark. I then set up Will-o-Wisp, and confuse ray. THis turn into a stall war, with m using all my potions, Pryce running out of Aroura Beam, this took forever. Eventually I win the stalemate, and get the Glacier badge, thank goodness. That took longer than it needed to!
Leafeon by day, Mercenary by night, hidden in the trees, under the light.

Frankly, I don't know why I decide to challenge with the Johto games; I seriously can't stand them, and it was weird how I felt almost no attachment to these guys. Bella's Ultimate Fire: Pearl

Spoiler:
Introduction

After completing Hoenn in Emerald it's time to continue to the region of Sinnoh in Pearl. I will update this post for the entirety of my Pearl adventure!

Update Log

Chose Chimchar to assist with fending off the wild Starly
Headed to Sandgem Town to visit Professor Rowan.
Caught a Starly on route 201 for use as a HM slave.
Caught a Bidoof on route 201 for use as a HM slave.
Arrived in Jubilife City.
Picked up my Poktch.
Defeated my rival on Route 203 by the skin of my teeth.
Chimchar evolved into Monferno in Oreburgh Gate.
Arrived in Oreburgh City.

Oreburgh City Gym Team

Update Log

Explored Oreburgh Gate Basement for TM70 Flash.
Continued back to Jubilife City.
Defeated Team Galactic Grunts with Lucas.
Arrived in Floaroma Town.
Defeated Commander Mars at the Valley Windworks.
Arrived at Eterna Forest and paired up with Cheryl.
Arrived in Eterna City.
Ponyta showed up in my first wild encounter on Route 211! Woohoo.
Grinded on Route 205 to bring Ponyta up to level 16 where it learned Ember.

Eterna City Gym Team

Update Log

Skipped exploring the Old Chateau.
Cleared out the Team Galactic building in Eterna City.
Traveled down Route 206 (Cycling Road), training along the way.
Skipped exploring Wayward Cave.
Caught a Bibarel (x2) on Route 208 to replace Bidoof.
Arrived in Heathome City.
Skipped Amity Square due to not having one of the required Pokemon.
Easily defeated my rival. My two Pokemon were significantly over-leveled.
Explored Lost Tower for some items and HM04 (Strength).
Arrived in Solaceon Town & skipped exploring Solaceon Ruins.
Route 215 was quite bothersome due to the rain reducing fire-type moves.
Arrived in Veilstone City.

Veilstone City Gym Team

This gym caused me some issues and it took me two turns to finally defeat. Machoke's Rock Tomb knocked a significant amount of HP off my team as it was super effective.

Update Log

Monferno evolved into Infernape on Route 214.
Arrived in Pastoria City.
Picked up HM05 (Defog) from the Great Marsh.

Pastoria City Gym Team

Surprisingly this water gym wasn't so bad. Gyarados was the biggest issue being Water/Flying so Infernape's fighting-type moves were ineffective. I used Ponyta's 'Stomp' to finish him off, and cleaned up the remaining Pokemon using Infernape's 'Close Combat'.

Update Log

Defeated my rival (again).
Egg which I forgot to box hatched into a cute Happiny. Sorry little guy, you've got to live in a computer now!
Struggled along Route 212, the rain really put a damper (pun intended) on my fire-type moves!
Skipped exploring the Pokmon Mansion on Route 212
Ponyta evolved into Rapidash on Route 210.
Arrived in Celestic Town, received HM03 (Surf).
Flew back to Hearthome City to face the gym.

Hearthome City Gym Team

This gym was fairly easy to get through by blasting her Ghost-type Pokmon with fire-type moves. I did need to use a few potions though.

Update Log

Flew back to Jubilife City to upgrade my Poktch with new apps and continue on to Route 218.
Arrived in Canalave City.
Defeated my rival on the bridge.

Canalave City Gym Team

Apparently I should have challenged this gym after Iron Island, but given the typing I was feeling pretty confident. Bronzor and Steelix both went down pretty quickly with fire-type moves, and Bastiodon was knocked out with a few well placed fighting-type moves from Infernape.

Update Log

Set sail for Iron Island.
Teamed up with Riley.
Almosted blacked out during the double battle with the two Ace Trainers. Riley's single Pokmon fainted and mine struggled against Pelipper, Floatzel, and Sudowoodo who all had super effective attack moves.
Flew back to Pastoria City to go to Valor Lakefront.
Defeated Commander Saturn inside Valor Cavern.
Flew home to Twinleaf Town to go to Lake Verity.
Defeated Commander Mars.
Traversed through the snow and blizzard on Routes 216 and 217.
Arrived in Snowpoint City.

Snowpoint City Gym Team

Rapidash 1HKO'd all of her Pokmon, including Medicham, with Fire Blast. Easiest gym battle to date.

Update Log

Flew back to Veilstone City to pick up the Storage Key and enter Galactic Warehouse.

I did a Bug Monotype run through the first five generations, about a year ago. It was fun, but I lost all data since the phone I played it on died (I play on emulators, yes) and I wasn't an active poster here.

I used a random number generator to roll a number between 1 and 18, knowing I probably would have to reroll at 2 (dark), 5 (fairy) and 17 (steel), but I rolled 11, so...

“Why, what did she tell you?”

RECLAIMING MY GYM
A GROUND TYPE CHALLENGE
on LeafGreen

PROLOGUE
Spoiler:

"Be honest, Suon. When is the last time you won a battle in your Gym? Sorry, let me rephrase that. HAVE you ever won a battle in your Gym? Don't answer, we both know the answer is 'no'. I feel for you, Suon, I really do, but a Gym is supposed to be a challenge for young trainers. Some win, some lose. It shouldn't be a walk in the bloody park! Oh, and by the way! In order to be a Ground type Gymleader, you need a Ground type Pokémon! When is your Nidoran ever gonna evolve in a Nidoking? It's basically too old to fight already!
"I'm sorry, Suon, but I'm afraid we have to let you go. No, don't say a word, the decision has been made already. We have found a suitable replacement for you, who will be there as soon as he finished his current business. Your landlord should be there any minute to collect the keys. Go home. Maybe visit Professor Oak. And if you ever want your Gym back, you have to show us that you're a worthy Ground type Master!"

EPISODE I: A NEW HOPE
Spoiler:

I leave the Viridian Gym and go south to Pallet Town. I speak to Professor Oak, and he thinks it's a good idea to start all over again. So I leave my beloved but old Nidoran♂ behind and get a new Pokémon: Squirtle. Oaks grandson, Blue, challenges me to a duel immediately, and I win my first match in years!

I start my travel. Apparently Squirtle isn't strong enough to carry me over water, so we go back North again. We pass Viridian City, make it through the forest and reach Pewter City. Gymleader Brock was making fun of me (he always had), so I taught him a lesson of revenge (even though his Pokémon are awesome...).

On route 3 I find a Pokémon worthy of joining my team, a Nidoran♀. And not much later, I stumble upon a Geodude. I caught both of them. And even though Squirtle made me win matches, I struggled to bond with him, so send him back to Professor Oak.

Nidoran♀ and Geodude seem pretty strong, and in Mount Moon Nidoran♀ evolves in a Nidorina. Making our way through the Tunnel, we find a Moon Stone, so I evolve Nidorina again in a Nidoqueen. Awesome! Now they'll surely hire me back at the Gym!

On route 4, just before Cerulean City, I catch another mate, a Sandshrew. In Cerulean I call the League, but apparently I only get my Gym back if I really prove my strength. "Battle the other gyms in Kanto and we'll see how strong you've become."

Misty has always been nice to me, but I decided not to challenge her yet, due to the serious disadvantage of my Pokémon. I train all my Pokémon on the routes north of Cerulean City, and Sandshrew evolves in a Sandslash.

We get a ticket for the S.S. Anne and after a long journey south make it to the ship in Vermilion City. Here we get a CD which teaches the HM Cut. East of Vermilion, I catch a Diglett.

I can't enter Lt. Surge his gym yet, so I backtrack to Cerulean and challenge Misty. Even though there's a type disadvantage, my Nidoqueen OHKO's her Staryu and manages to paralyze her Starmie, gaining speed advantage in the battle and Body Slamming her way to victory.

Now I can challenge Lt. Surge as well. Do I need to tell you how I beat the arrogant b*****d?

Diglett evolved in a Dugtrio, and for the first time in my life, I'm starting to feel like a real Ground Master.

I make my way to Celadon City, after passing through Rock Tunnel and Lavender Town. My Geodude evolved in a Graveler. In the PokéCenter I find someone (who looked astonishingly similar to me...) who is willing to trade with me, in order to evolve my Graveler. Now I have a Golem!

We beat Team Rocket in the Game Corner and get a Silph Scope as reward. We go back to Lavender Town, where I ran into a cute Cubone, carrying a thick bone, dealing heavy damage. I caught it, trained it, and evolved it into a Marowak (ooc: actually this Cubone didn't hold a Thick Club. I taught Thief to Dugtrio and used it on other wild Cubone. It only took me about 6 tries). Apparently, I have to beat Team Rocket again, and this time we get a Flute as a reward.

I go south to Fuchsia Town, where we play the Safari Game and catch a Rhyhorn. We also challenge Koga, who has higher level Pokémon, but we have the type advantage.

My plan is to go back to Pallet Town and surf south to Cinnabar Island, to battle Blaine. That shouldn't be a problem, and it's possibly a good warm up for my gymbattles with Erika and Sabrina. First however, I have to find some Pokemon to get me there...

“You know,” said Arthur, “it’s at times like this, when I’m trapped in a Vogon airlock with a man from Betelgeuse, and about to die of asphyxiation in deep space, that I really wish I’d listened to what my mother told me when I was young.”
“Why, what did she tell you?”
“I don’t know, I didn’t listen.”

ORAS is the hardest game for a Fairy run imo. This is due to a lack of fairy types available and a more difficult early game. Either way, it won't be THAT hard... right?

Part 1: Ralts vs. Hoenn

Spoiler:
- Started the Adventure and chose the male character
- Saved Birch and got Torchic (No Nickname) as a starter
- Went to Route 103 and beat May after losing twice to crits
- Went back to Littleroot Town and got the Pokedex.
- Went to Route 102 and picked up a lucky 3rd encounter Ralts.
- The ralts had a -Sp. Atk nature, so I hunted them until I found one that didn't.
- The Ralts I caught had a Timid Nature and Confuse Ray due to Dexnav.
- I gave Ralts the nickname Hyla, and boxed Torchic after a little bit of switch training to get Confusion.
- Grinded through Route 102.
- Arrived at Petalburg, and helped Wally catch his own Ralts.
- Went through Route 104 into Petalburg Woods.
Important Battle 1: Vs. Petalburg Woods Magma Grunt
Important battles will highlight battles with a somewhat big impact in the playthrough.
This battle was tough, as my only team member, Hyla was level 9, only knew Confusion as an attacking move. I decided not to grind to level 11 (Disarming Voice) because I could risk it with Confuse Ray + Double Team. I go in, set up Confuse Ray, and begin the Evasion Spam. It actually worked.
Fight TL;DR - I went to war with the Smogon Clauses.
- Finished Petalburg Woods, and exited to the rest of Route 104.
- Arrived at Rustboro, got some supplies, and went to Route 116, and completed grinding.
- Challenged Rustboro gym and managed to sweep the Trainers.
- Challenged Roxanne, and got pummeled badly the first time.
Important Fight 2: Vs. Gym Leader Roxanne
I made this needlessly difficult. Geodude was a challenge due to Hyla's bad defense. Double Team Spam eventually helped me take it out, and Nosepass wasn't as difficult, falling pretty easily.
- Went to Rusturf Tunnel, and beat the other Magma Grunt.
- Got in Kudos with Mr. Stone, and then left for Dewford to deliver that letter.
Important Battle 3: Vs. Gym Leader Brawly
It was a slaughter fest, as I just set up 2 Double Teams and then went to town. The Machop thankfully had Guts, so Hyla's Trace didn't activate a 'Negative' ability strategy wise, but that was it.
- Delivered Letter to Steven.

Team so far:
Spoiler:
Hyla the Ralts - Level 15

Nature - Timid

RECLAIMING MY GYM
A GROUND TYPE CHALLENGE
on LeafGreen

EPISODE II: THE LEADER STRIKES BACK
Spoiler:

Professor Oak gave me Squirtle back, the one I used in the beginning of this new adventure. It had learners how to use Surf and it took me to Cinnabar Island. Here, I challenged Blaine. My Ground types crushed him. Then I went back to Saffron City.

I beat Team Rocket and Giovanni for the second time and won my battle against Sabrina. Now, I went back West to Celadon and finally challenged Erika. I always had a bit of a crush on her, but could not stand her Pokémon. Thankfully, I was strong enough to beat them.

I have seven badges now, only the Viridian Gym left. My gym! I open the doors and see that the whole interior has changed. There's trainers everywhere, but I can't see the leader just yet. I beat all the trainers and finally notice Giovanni watching me.

How could the League appoint a crook like him to run my Gym?? I get furious and beat the hell out of him!

Now I have 8 badges and I can challenge the League. I do a LOT of training around Kanto and evolve Rhyhorn in a Rhydon, before I enter the first match.

Lorelei is so strong! I was so lucky to win this, with Sand Storm/Sand Veil and Toxic as my big assets.

Bruno wasn't a real challenge.

Agatha could be annoying, but we managed just fine.

Lance packed one hell of a punch, and I needed a few potions, but we came through.

Champion Blue was hard, especially Venusaur. A massive thanks to the attractive Nidoqueen.

Now that I am League Champion, I don't think they would mind giving me my Gym back. But instead, Professor Oak give the keys to the Gym to Blue!! Instead, he gives me a plane ticket. He tells me that a colleague of him needs help. And they need a master of Ground types to investigate...

My team:

Level 58 | ♀ | Hardy | Poison Point | no hold item
Attacks: Earthquake, Shock Wave, Attract, Super Power

Level 58 | ♂ | Sassy | Rock Head | no hold item
Attacks: Rock Blast, Earthquake, Rollout, Double Edge

Attacks: Earthquake, Secret Power, Toxic, Mud-Slap

Level 58 | ♀ | Adament | Lightning Rod| Thick Club
Attacks: Bonemerang, Focus Energy, Brick Break, Trash

Level 57 | ♂ | Gentle | Rock Head| Quick Claw

I originally planned to have this part go up to Flannery, but the Ralts run finally got difficult.

Part 2: Minor Difficulty Spike
Spoiler:
- Arrive at Route 109 and grind against most of the trainers.
- Enter Slateport City, go to the Dockyard, and the go to the Museum.
- Enter Team Magma Goons (but not before getting the Thief TM)
- This first one rocked my world. I got rid of Double Team so I felt I was playing fair. Dude's Level 16 Numel knows Flame Burst and always 2HKOs. Confusion also refused to be on my side. Ever. It never worked.
- Leave and grind Ralts to level 18. Also develop strategy that makes use of... Confide. Hey it never misses...
- The Numel no longer goes straight for Flame Burst, but now Focus Energy, which ignores Confide's Stat Drops.
- I get lucky as it finally hits itself on my sixth or seventh attempt, and I finally win.
- Beat the second grunt (Mr. Future Ace Grunt) as well.
- Leave Slateport, and head to Route 110 and begin prepping for May.
- I lost to the first trainer on the Route. A plusle and minun. Lost.
-
-
-
- Regret.
- I grind Hyla into a Kirlia, and begin to ease into fights again. I also catch the first HM buddy Chibi the Oddish, where I also ran around and did menial cut things but hey I got a Miracle Seed.
- The rest of Route 110/Other Route 103 was smooth, even...
Important Battle 4: Vs. May on Route 110
This battle is tough, but either no one seems to talk about it, or maybe its just me. Thankfully, I managed to easily handle her this time. The Shroomish (what I blame for making the battle hard) was KOed with doing anything, no damage or status conditions. The Slugma and Marshtomp put on minor hurt, but I came out on top.
- I made a mad dash to Route 117, and got my second teammate, Conejito the Marill
- Then I got the Mach Bike and head to Granite Cave, where I then got Steelixite Masticar the Mawile!
- I get my new members and grind up in every location possible. I also got the Expert Belt from the Trick House and evolved Conejito into Azumarill, where it also got Aqua Tail and the TM for Bulldoze.
Real Talk, Azumarill's learnset in ORAS is ridiculous, getting Aqua Tail @ Lvl 21, and Play Rough @ Lvl 25
- Defeated Wally.
- I entered the Mauville Gym and challenged Wattson.
Important Battle 5: Vs. Gym Leader Wattson
Figuring Bulldoze was a TM was a gift, but finding a way to get Conejito in proved difficult because of Volt Switch Spam. Thankfully, after terrible luck with confusion, I was able to take out Magneton with a Bulldoze, and the entire fight was downhill, as the AI haywired, and caused the Voltorb to just spam Charge for some reason, and the Magnemite to miss a supersonic (I think).
- 3rd Badge is mine.

Team So Far:
Spoiler:
Hyla the Kirlia - Level 24

Ability - Trace
Nature - Timid
Item - None
Confuse Ray
Confusion
Magical Leaf
Draining Kiss

Conejito the Azumarill - Level 23

Ability - Huge Power
Nature - Mild
Item - Expert Belt
Bulldoze
Aqua Tail
Defense Curl
Rollout

Masticar the Mawile - Level 21

Ability - Intimidate
Nature - Jolly

Fairy Wind

Vice Grip

*Emerald sprites look nicer that ORAS sprites online, so I'm using those.

I also forgot to put this, but back on Route 104 (middle of part 1), my Ralts traced a Zigzagoon's pickup, and both me and the foe picked up two Oran berries each in the middle of battle. Neat.
