The dragons (yes they were real). I would literally become a Targaryen and raise that thing myself.

Realistically speaking, one of the few extinct species that could fit in my apartment would be a Leptictidium. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leptictidium

However, if there were no restrictions, I'd pick the Smilodon (Saber-tooth cat).

maybe a tasmanian tiger. it would probably be a bit of a handful and possibly quite violent but they're just so adorable... and dog-sized, so perfect for a house! ; )

Except they're not extinct, they're critically endangered.

I love how you question that but someone saying dragons is absolutely fine in your book.

the dodo bird because I can relate to it on so many levels. I'd hand feed that poor baby to ensure it's survival.
I'll raise another, then they breed and bring back the dodo populace

you cannot hope to win

I actually didn't notice the post about dragons.

What else could survive the harsh winters and brutal summers of the Northeastern US? Maybe the European cave lion?

THE DODO BIRD. Seriously, I just wanna see how goofy it really looks, and it's just a really interesting bird.
