Some people name them after certain characters, some after features of the animal itself, and some people just like giving them more traditional 'human' names - what kind of names do you like to give your pets? How did you come up with them?

If I ever get my own pet for my apartment, I'd get a leopard gecko with a name that is a reference to world mythology. I really like the name Fafnir for a male.

My family and I are weird when it comes to names. To give you guys an idea based on what we named our cats:

-Ocean, I think because my mom thought she's pretty like the ocean and the cat's big eyes
-Max, random I think
-Speedy, because the cat is pretty fast lol
-Vanilla, because of her fluffy fur
-Tom and Jerry, because the cat reminds my dad of the characters from the cartoon
-October, because the kitty recently was born last October.

For other pets like hamsters, fishes, rabbits, etc, I think we just go generic ones like Rabby, Spot, Lucky, Hammie, etc. lol.

I've named so many of mum's puppies... There's never a certain theme really, although I seem to have a tendency to give pets "human" names. Elsa and Ewald are my cats, although my old family cat I named Tiger haha.

I'm very random when it comes to naming my pets. I had three guinea pigs called Tweek, Toast and Clover. I'm not sure why I called one of them Toast, maybe I just really liked toast at the time? I named all of my pets when I was a kid so I think I just named them based off the first name I thought of. I also had two chickens which I called Henry and Egbert. Egbert was based off of the word egg and I'm not sure where Henry came from! I also had names for my different fish when I was younger but I forgot all of them. :(

I typically go with what sounds right, but I've only ever personally named my current gecko. The rest either had names already, or were named by family members.

Current pet is Ghidorah, after my favorite Godzilla villain (which every messes up and calls her Godzilla anyways).
