For my hack, I wanted the scientist who restores fossils to where Birch's Lab is. Problem is, when he says "go take a stroll" he never lets you have the fossils unless you go to the Devon Corp's second floor and out again, which is how the game would check it if he was supposed to be there. Now, I know this is probably related to map scripts, so I tried giving Devon's map scripts to littleroot town and birch's lab, but nothing happened. Any clue on how to fix this?

I had a look at Emerald's fossil person script, and it looks like if variable 40C4 is set to 1 then you have to wait, and when it's set to 2 your fossil is ready.

Devon Corp's second floor map script simply sets the variable to be 2 if it's 1, so what you did should work.
