I have a problem that continously occurs whenever I try to hack Fire Red in which at some point during the process, if the map is reloaded, certain sprites become a glitchy version of the player sprite and I will asume control of one of them.

I've done everything I can think of and come to no avail.

This has been an issue that has made me continously abandon projects.

ROM information: Currently I am using the Artificial Red rombase and the map in which the problem occurs has 12 overworld sprites so I was wondering if that might have anything to do with it.

Note: currently it only happens to the two overworlds shown in the video.

Edit: there seems to be a playback error on the video, hoping this link might work

There is a fix for this, but I can't remember what it is. :v

Try checking the movement behaviors of all your NPCs. If you're using movement byte 11 anywhere, don't use it, it's broken as psyduck.

Which is the movement byte?

This is a screenshot of the advance map properties of the affected sprite:

Movement type. If any are set to 11, they shouldn't be.

Ok, that was it, Advance Map was showing the movement type as 0x8 but switching to a different version showed me that it was set to 0xB, so now i'm assuming it must be an internal bug in Advance Map.

It works now with no error, thanks for your help.
