Let's say, you are only allowed to have one, and only one Pokémon during the entirety of a game. It can be any Pokémon that isn't a Legendary or a Mythic. Who would you choose?

I once played X from start to finish with only an Eevee, that I later evolved into Sylveon. It's one of my absolute favourite Pokémon, and can learn a varied Moveset. It was one of my favourite playthrought, I kinda felt like Ash and his Pikachu :3

Noooo, I cannot possibly make this choice ;A;

The only Pokémon I could think of as my partner is Zapdos but since Legendaries aren't allowed idek. Flaaffy/Ampharos? There was never a single Pokémon I considered more 'mine' than Zapdos.
I only said that because Legendaries are usually stronger and would make a playthrough way too easy lol. But since you've said it, why would you choose Zapdos over any other?
I've thought about this before. Bagon/Shelgon/Salamence. Strong Pokemon, and then you can fly everywhere.
Yeah, HM were a big problem during my Sylveon playthrough, I should try this again with Sun/Moon now that they removed it. Do you usually have a Bagon & evos on your team?
Whimsicott. Cute fluffy ram for my Aries birthday.
Aaaaa I love Whimsicott soooo much! Even more so when it gained the Fairy type <3 It has such a good moveset, too, which is pretty useful in that kind of playthrough. Would you nickname it?

I realize I read the question wrong. I thought it was about having a Pokémon partner outside of a game context. Let me rethink my answer then. :D

I initially answered Zapdos because it is my favourite Pokémon, but I understand that in a playthrough, having a legendary from the start might be a bit OP. For in-game, I might go with Dunsparce because I've already used it a few times and every time it was a surprisingly useful member of the team. Otherwise maybe Torchic? I always find Blaziken super useful no matter what.

Easy question for me. A little Chikorita which later would evolve into Meganium.

She will be a badass.

If I could only have one Pokemon for the whole game it would have to be on that has three stages, so I'd have to go with Charmander and eventually get a Charizard which I could mega evolve too.

Of course it would be Vulpix, it is my #1 of all time and would bring Sunny weather with Drought, which is also one of my favorite abilities. Then it would evolve into beautiful Ninetales and have the moves even more powerful, and Solar Beam for water types :D

I don't think my choice would be too hard to guess.

He truly presents the image a real life pet, but of course have to careful of those Thunderbolts :P.
But how far would a Pikachu go, alone in a Pokémon league? I'm not convinced Pikachu can actually be strong enough to beat a game by itself :P
Easy question for me. A little Chikorita which later would evolve into Meganium.

I remember she was my first starter, in the years I only used 1 or 2 Pokémon, she was so strong. People saying the game is too hard when you pick Chikorita need to git gud.

Which Mega Stone would you pick for your Charizard? X or Y :D

Hmm, I had a 6IV Ninetales (alola tho) on my last Sun playthrough, and I had so much trouble keeping it alive. I didn't check Ninetales' base stats, but I felt it was lacking some buff. I might be wrong however! It's still one of the most beautiful Pokémon, both regional variants <3

I'd have the Snivy line. Not only are they my favorite Pokemon, they can also be useful with the contrary ability. Contrary boosted Leaf Storms are pretty good.

Contrary + Leafstorm is pretty OP, I abused it with a Lurantis on my last playthrough of Sun. I also was 100% expecting that answer from you lol, but it's a good choice :)

Believe it or not I've actually done a Pikachu mono run & beaten a game (ya I did cheat a lot, A WHOLE LOT >:), but still).

Well okay, then I'll choose another strong Electric Type, maybe Elekid or Shinx.

If it was just to have a single partner pokemon I'd choose Buizel hands down but since a Nuizel/Floatzel wouldn't be so great to take on a league I'll just hvae to resort to second favorite Pokemon, Infernape. With so much power, speed and ability to attack specially and physically, It's my perfect partner!

Aw geez. As someone who loves a bunch of Pokemon for multiple reasons - I'm gonna have to say Torchic's the one. Torchic, or really any of its stages.
Since the day I saw it when I played Sapphire/Ruby (Sapphire was one of my early games, and I choose Torchic in Ruby)- and when I was watched the Pokemon anime, I grew an obsession with Torchic. I like cute designs, I STILL REALLY LIKE THEM. I love it even more all these years later because I still really adore avian character designs, I LOVE CHICKENS, and I never got bored of it. I've grown to love other bird design Pokemon, but nothing beat my obsession with Torchic. Plus, I really like having Blaziken in my team if I have the choice. Loved the fire and fighting combo when it was introduced.

If I had to think of another Pokemon if I couldn't have Torchic, I'd have to say Hawlucha is another bird design I love!

This was an easy choice for me because I've thought of this many times. I would have a female Snorunt so that I could eventually evolve her into Froslass, my favourite Pokémon. ^_^

That is a hard choice either Absol, Sawsbuck, or Sharpedo.
Be strong, TheUncreativeSawsbuckFan. You're perfect as you are

Those are great Pokémon, I'm sure a walkthrough with them would be pretty awesome! It's got strenght but also a lot of weaknesses...:P

I was expecting Alakazam from you, to be honest! Froslass is an awesome but creepy Pokémon.
