Which moves fall under the list of TMs has varied a lot by generation. Are there any moves that you feel should be TMs? Were there any old TMs that got removed that you'd like to see make a return?

I think Recover and Parting Shot would make good TM's. As for past gen TM's, I'd like to see the elemental punches, Dynamic Punch, Drain Punch, Dig, Silver Wind, and Fury Cutter make a return.

EDIT: Also Dragon Pulse. How could I forget this move?
Do you like Pokemon battles? If yes, then come play The Great Pokemon Battle 13!

I didn't even realize Dig's not a TM anymore! Would definitely like to see that return, it seems less than useful when only a very limited number of Pokemon can learn it by level but a ton more could use it in TM form.

It was shocking when I saw the leaks of S/M and Leech Life replaced it, after six generations. LL has much less distribution despite that huge power boost.

Hopefully this will mean Dig could be a potential Move Tutor move in US/UM, since the Move Tutors have been in every release outside of the first pair in every generation since 4th Gen.

One new TM that I don't like is Smart Strike. Can anything actually learn it?! You get it relatively early in the game but nothing seems able to learn it; certainly not any Steel types, you know, the type that the move actually IS! How can Alolan Sandslash not learn it?! Or Skarmory? Metagross? All Steel types that I've used in SM and thought "surely this one can learn it". But nope, thwarted every time.

I think the reason for the limited distribution is because the move's Japanese name is Smart Horn, hence why it's restricted only to Pokemon with sharp horns like Tauros, Seaking and for some odd reason Lapras.

I know Kartana is actually one of the very few Steel-types to even get this move, especially since it doesn't learn any other Steel-type moves.

Defog.

Yes, I know it was an HM back in D/P/Pt, but a lot of other common HMs were demoted to TMs in Sun and Moon like Surf and Waterfall. The problem is that Defog is a very common move and is almost mandatory on competitive teams, but you need to jump through a lot of hoops in order to get a legitimate Defog Pokemon in Gen VII - teach it in D/P/Pt, trade it to HG/SS, transfer it to B/W/B2/W2, and then Bank it into S/M. I hope GF have realised this and make the move an ordinary TM again.

I'd rather take Defog as a Move Tutor move than a TM, since the MTs tend to have the competitively useful moves.

Can we have Dragon Pulse back please? I prefer it to be a TM than from a move tutor. Wouldn't mind Outrage and Dragon Breath as TMs. Maybe Dragon Hammer too?
If I recall, the only Dragon-type moves with TM slots currently are Dragon Claw and Dragon Tail, which are both physical moves. Can't see Dragon Pulse coming back anytime soon since a lot of special-attacking Dragon Pokemon get it by level-up, so probably going to stay as a Move Tutor thing.

Yeah, I've just looked up the distribution for it and I don't know why it isn't just Normal type tbh. The Steel typing seems misleading considering only four Steel types can learn it.

Yet that doesn't explain why Kartana, a Pokemon with no horn, can use this move...

Energy Ball, Water Pulse and Dragon Pulse are moves that really should be changed back to TM moves.

Energy Ball has actually been a TM since 4th Gen.
