First, I will give a "le gasp!" at anyone who's seen this anime/manga. It's not exactly what you would call mainstream, after all. If there are fans of Spiral out there, feel free to put in your comments.

That aside, allow me to start the discussion with a fangirlish rave. Spiral is unlike most shows I've seen. There's not really any magic here, nor a perky/determined hero (unless you count Hiyono). Nope. Instead, you've got a regular high school kid who starts out with low self-confidence but enough logic to seriously kick rear. Yep. This gig's a logic thing, meaning rather than relying on cool weapons or magic, the bad guys are foiled with creative strategy and brilliant deduction. As boring as that seems, to me, it's refreshing, unique, and, above all, exciting. You hang on to Narumi Ayumu's every word until he finally arrives at the conclusion. You're driven to figure out the puzzles and find every clue before Ayumu does. Most of all, you're led into the mind of the antagonist.

Granted, supposedly, the manga's far better, but the anime isn't that bad either (despite its fairly abrupt ending). It's definitely worth a look.

So, if anyone else has seen it, what do you think?
Professional ninja. May or may not actually be back. Here for the snark and banter at most.

Need some light reading?
Anima Ex Machina (Chapter 20 now available)
The Leaf Green Incident (SWC 2012 winner)
Braid (Creepypasta apparently)

I have yet to see the anime. My computer's full at the moment, though. XD

I've only been able to read the first chapter, and even so, I couldn't even finish it. Now my only means of contact (For lack of a better word >>) with the series is to see the anime. ^^ I know it's not mainstream, it seems kinda like a rare series to me, compared to Naruto and One Piece. I heard it's kind of like Detective Conan, but better. Then again, I've never really seen Detective Conan..

Eeee. <3
