Sorry if this has been discussed before, but I have been thinking recently - we have just had the first few Pokmon from Gen 3 released, and the rest are set to be released over the next few months. That means 3 Gens in the space of a year and a half. At this rate, Pokmon Go is on track to catch up with the core series pretty quickly (assuming they don't slow down).

With this in mind, do you think they would ever be bold enough to launch a new generation of Pokmon on Pokmon Go before they hit the core series?

If not a whole new Gen, would they do one or two new Pokmon that are exclusive to Go? This might be something they could do if they every bring in connectivity with the core games - an incentive for people to play both, similar to version exclusives in the normal games. Maybe some Pokmon Go exclusive forms?

I could certainly see these kind of things bringing (back) a lot of players, but then again they may alienate some of the core fan base.

What are your thoughts?

I don't really think they'd be doing this. GameFreak has always had the main core games and while some pokmon showed up in the anime before they were released in games, it feels like displaying a new generation (or parts of it) in a completely different pokmon game would be a bit too much of a sidestep.

That being said, we are getting more and more mobile games, so who knows how things change?
