Regarding my journey, I'm also recording some of the matches plus where I encountered the Pokemon I'm adding to my team. This is going to be an interesting run since Blaze Black 2 has some features to either make the game easier or harder at the start of the game. I decided to pick the Challenge difficulty, where not only are trainer Pokemon stronger, but Gym Leaders in particular will have more well thought-out teams and even Cheren has 6 Pokemon you must battle in Challenge Mode, as opposed to 3 normally. In addition to this, I'll also be recording matches against the Gym Leaders from Hoenn, although they are optional battles. So in total, I'll be fighting 8 Gym Leaders in my Island Challenge, although my actual challenge ends when Elisa is defeated (so I would defeat Flannery first before challenging Elisa). So, with that explanation out of the way, I think I have progressed enough to write out a small intro to my run.

Chapter 1: Assembling the Fini Team

Actually, all three Unova starters are legal for the Fini Tribe for this challenge. I picked Tepig since there is one particular gym that would prove to be troublesome for my planned team, but that gym will not be for some time. After picking up the starter, I proceeded down the stairs and Hugh challenges me to a battle with his bred Oshawott. While Oshawott was clearly better trained (Challenge puts the Oshawott at level 6), I was the better trainer and came out on top of a close battle. After that, we both took off and agreed we would train hard to support the other in the future. After spending a little time discussing the various resources for trainers of Unova (and picking up the Running Shoes, Bicycle, and two Town Maps, which the second one is for Hugh, in the process), I proceeded through Route 19 and met up with Alder, who saw potential in me as a trainer and proceeded with some words of wisdom before asking to meet up with him later. Alder eventually saw I was carrying two Town Maps and let me go find Hugh first before we would train. At this point, it was clear that to be even better, I needed to expand my team.

After defeating the trainers of Route 20, I arrived at Floccesy Ranch, where I knew two of the Pokemon I was allowed to use for the challenge were found at. After a little difficulty, I added Azurill and Riolu to my team. I knew getting these two first was a good idea because they both need happiness to evolve. I then went back to Route 20, where after a decent amount of time and difficulty came to pass, I got the fourth member of my team, Ralts.

The training began for Ralts, and after getting Ralts to level 8 and Tepig to level 12, I returned to Floccesy Ranch and had a second battle with Hugh (interestingly for this run, this is the last time I battle Hugh. While Hugh will continue to pop up, I do not battle him directly again until after the fifth Gym), where Ralts appeared to have the upper hand against Hugh's Taillow until Taillow scored a critical hit and won against Ralts. I let Tepig go next where it defeated both Taillow and Oshawott, finishing the battle. After giving Hugh the Town Map, and receiving a Soothe Bell (very much appreciated), from the farmers of the ranch, Hugh and I explored the ranch looking for the farm's missing Herdier. I continued getting experience for both Ralts and Tepig in the meantime, and eventually find the Herdier in the hands of a grunt claiming to be working for Team Plasma. The situation dissolved quickly after the grunt threw the Frustration TM at me, then ran off before Hugh and the Herdier's trainer came to our location.

After ensuring both Herdiers were accounted for, I left to go see Alder. Alder brought me to a place where two young trainers were being trained by him, and Alder suggested the idea that they should battle me to learn more about how Pokemon battles work. I agreed to the idea and had Tepig battle the two trainers. The first trainer used Grass Pokemon, so naturally Tepig had little trouble, but the Pansour from the second trainer put Tepig in a rough situation after Tepig won, so I called it back and had Ralts defeat the trainer's remaining Pokemon. After Alder discussed a little more about what happened, I was free to leave and plan my next move, though not before Alder, on two separate occasions, told me about a Gym Leader arriving in Aspertia City and to challenge him. To challenge the Gym Leader right away was not going to be a good idea, so I set out to train my team. Aiming for level 14 for all four of my Pokemon might be a safe bet to give the Gym Leader some challenge...at least, that is the plan.

Fini Island Challenge Team Members (at the time of this post)

Tepig Lv. 14 w/ Nothing (Hardy, Thick Fat)
Moves: Tackle, Tail Whip, Ember, Defense Curl

Azurill Lv. 5 w/ Soothe Bell (Hardy, Huge Power)

Riolu Lv. 6 w/ Nothing (Lonely, Steadfast)
Moves: Foresight, Quick Attack, Endure, Counter

Second challenge update. Proceeded to Celadon and bypassed most of the trainers. Acquired Vulpix and Eevee(whom I promptly evolved into Jolteon at level 27 after learning Quick Attack as an Eevee) and grinded both to 30. Challenged Erika and rolled 3-0 with Vulpix(normally fall to her Gloom but managed to sweep). Then did Rocket Game Corner, Pokemon Tower(wherein Blue was EASY thanks to Jolteon Thunderbolt) and with Super Rod in hand, went to go catch my final Team member in Staryu. Did Silph Co. in Saffron and grinded to 48 before doing Koga and Sabrina. Ninetales and Starmie teamed up for Koga while Jolteon solod Sabrina(Double Team + Pin Missile).

Currently resting in Fuchsia before heading out on the Sea Routes. Team is also fully evolved at level 50. Final update will come tomorrow.

PS: I know Im technically done but my Starmie hasnt really fought enough.

You're good. First one is your Psychic Type(Req#1), Gyrados and Butterfree are found on Akala(Req#2), Gengar's Special is absurdly high in Gen 1(130!! and meets Req#3), Kabutops is a Rock Type(Req#4) and Charizard is a Fire Type(Kiawe's Trial and meets Req#5).

Do note you only have to go to Erika but feel free to complete the game like I will be. Have fun :)

And now, for the moment I haven't been waiting for (because Whitney's Miltank exists)...

Episode 2 - One Bulu's Enemy is another Bulu's Ally

I'm not going to lie, I never look forward to facing Whitney. She always gives me problems, just like Red's Snorlax. That's gonna be fun, too. But, there's still a bit of time before that. Plenty of time to grind up, get some items, and get elemental punches on Amphy and maybe Ms. Derp, otherwise I'll be waiting for her to evolve into Slowbro. Right now, Ilex Forest is the next area to visit, and since I already did the rival battle, that's one less thing to worry about. The Farfetch'd hunt isn't even that hard, so Ilex Forest is honestly a pretty uneventful area. Moving on.

So I learned the cop near the day care has a Lv. 17 Growlithe...that obliterated most of my team. Ms. Derp really needs to score some levels, but...we can worry about that later. We now have access to Fire and Thunderpunch for Amphy and Ice Punch when Ms. Derp eventually evolves. I'm hoping to work fast so I can reach Ecruteak, get the Eevee from Bill, and evolve it into Umbreon while it's still night in game. For now, I went to National Park and blew up all the trainers, went through the abomination that was the trainers of Goldenrod City gym, and now...it's time for Whitney.

So, I decided to use Curse strats again, and everything was fine and dandy...until Metronome made the Clefairy use Baton Pass and switch the Miltank in early. Luckily, I was setting up Curse, and even with Miltank's infamous Rollout combo of death, it wasn't able to pierce Ms. Derp's cursed buffs and met it's end along with the Clefairy. That Clefairy did manage to put a number on Ms. Derp with five Doubleslap hits, though...

So meanwhile, have this accurate image of how much HP Ms. Derp survived on.

Anyway, with the infamous demon cow defeated, we should be on easy street for a while...in theory. Fact is, I still only have a team of three. Hopefully we can change that soon. Meanwhile, Petal instakilled the Sudowoodo with a crit Razor Leaf. I guess he's jealous that he's not getting nearly as much action as Amphy and Ms. Derp, but...tough luck. Anyway, after a terrible experience with a Hypnosis Drowzee from a Psychic, we've arrived in Ecruteak...and went to go heal and send Bill to Goldenrod, so it's time to backtrack!

A male Eevee, but I wasn't getting my hopes up much for a female one. I mean, at this rate, the gender ratio of my team will be even at the end since Miltank is always female and I'll likely get a male Gyarados. Anyway. I named the Eevee Midnight, and he's luckily close to the rest of my party's levels, so he doesn't even need catching up. For now, it's time to get to work on evolving him. First, back to Ecruteak. I chose to do the rival battle, but his Haunter had other plans by completely throwing my team around like a bunch of bowling balls hitting pins called paralysis. It was not a fun time, but I still won. Anyway, the Kimono Girls gave Midnight some valuable experience, but...Eevee can't learn Dig, so it looks like we're switch training this gym.

Anyway, can I just say how shafted Petal is getting so far? I can't use him in this gym because of Ghost/Poison types. Also, I got wiped by Morty's Gengar because Dream Eater hits like a truck. On the second attempt, after going and buying Awakenings beforehand, the Gengar missed all of it's Hypnosis this time while it landed all of them the first time. Nice RNG there, game. Other than some Night Shade shenanigans, the battle wasn't too terrible, you know, unlike the earlier mentioned Haunter fiasco with Lick and "x mon is fully paralyzed." Well, now that we got that settled, I could go to Lake of Rage now and get the Gyarados, but...I think I'll wait and instead get the Miltank instead. First, I had to stock up on Poke Balls.

After forgetting to buy Poke Balls, killing a Miltank by accident, then going back, buying 10 Great Balls, going back again and encountering another Miltank, I got it on the second ball. Whitney the Miltank...is very far behind the rest of the team right now, and that's a bit bad. She'll (hopefully) catch up in time. All that remains is to go get the red Gyarados...but that won't happen until next time because yes.

And just in case, evidence that I have collected four badges.

Team Zero

Petal (Bayleef) Lv. 22 @ Miracle Seed
Moves: Tackle, Cut, Razor Leaf, Reflect

Amphy (Flaaffy) Lv. 24 @ Nothing

So, being in tribe Fini, the team should include these Pokmon:
#1. One Water-type Pokmon (because of Fini's typing)
#2. Two Pokmon that can be found on Poni Island
#3. One Pokmon that is Water-Type but doesn't look like a fish
#4. One Ground-type Pokmon (Poni's Kahuna is Hapi)
#5. One Pokmon who's gained the Fairy type (Poni's captain is Mina)
#6. In alternative, one Pokmon that can be found in Ultra Space.
I will assign these numbers to each Pokmon to ensure that the theme of the squad is consistent!

Update 1 - Umi's Island Challenge - Pokmon Platinum
I didn't really plan out my team before beginning, nor did I choose the game in which building this team would be easiest, but this will be more fun for sure :]

I started with Piplup without hesitation, as I'd never tried it out in Platinum before, and it fit the third position. I used only Piplup until I got to the entrance of Ravaged Path, where I could obtain a Zubat and a Psyduck.
I completed the quests in Jubilife and battled my rival, Barry, who kept spamming Withdraw with Turtwig but still couldn't survive long enough to my Bubbles!

With the help of Frederick, the first Gym in Oreburgh was very easy. I caught also a Machop and evolved my starter into Prinplup. Afterwards, I arrived to Floaroma Town, battled some Galactic Grunts, and caught a Buizel near the entrance of Valley Windworks. Now, after defeating Mars, I'm on my way to Eterna Town!

The team, therefore, is:
Prinplup, lv. 17 - 1, #3
Buizel, lv. 12 - 1, 3, #6
Psyduck, lv. 9 - #1, 2, 3
Zubat, lv. 15 - #2
Machop, lv. 8 - #2

so what that means is:
Golbat can be found in Poni Canyon, so Zubat gets to be in the team as position 2.
Machoke can be found in Poni Island too, so Machop is also position 2. That is all of #2 spots filled.
Prinplup could be the Water-type (slot 1), but also the not-fish Water-type (slot 3). This time it'll be in Slot 3.
Psyduck could occupy slots 1, 2 (Golduck is in Poni Island), or 3 (not a fish). In this case, slot 1 is the only one open.
Buizel can occupy either slot 1 or 3 (not a fish), but both are already taken. However, since Floatzel can be found in the Ultra Space, Buizel can stay in my team as slot 6, replacing either slot 4 or 5 (vacant).

SUON'S ISLAND CHALLENGE
on Pokmon Black

PRE-GAME
Spoiler:

So I'm playing this game on Black version, and to create my team, I need to do some research.

1.) Any Psychic-Type if you're in Tribe Lele
A Munna is available early in the game, so I go for Musharna

2.) 2 Pokmon that can be found on Akala Island for Tribe Lele
Not that many choices here, apparently. I go for Basculin and Stoutland

3.) One Pokmon that has Special Attack stat higher than 90
Many options here. It has been awhile since I used a starter, and will choose Emboar

4.) Any Pokmon of the type used by your Tribe's Kahuna
I googled who my tribe's Kahuna is, found out she uses Rock Pokmon, and flipped a coin between Carracosta and (winning) Archeops

5.) Any Pokmon of the same type as any of the Z-Crystals given to you in your Tribe's Island's Trial (except for Kahuna's Z-Crystals)
Again, I had to google, decided to go for the Grass Crystal and picked Leavanny

Also, I've decided, I'll play this game on SET-mode.

GYM #1
Spoiler:
I get Tepig as a starter and name him Pua'a. I fight both Bianca and Cheren and win both battles. I go through all the introduction shenanigans, and when I finally have Pokballs and am able to roam, I catch Ilio the Lillipup.

I battle N and win without problems. Also the next battles against Bianca and Cheren are won at once, and I can battle the first gym now.

Since I choose a Fire-starter, I get to battle Cress. He starts of with a Lillipup, so, I do as well. They're at the same level too, but his knows Work Up. Which he overuses a little, and Ilio wins. Ilio also gets one Tackle in against the Panpour, but then faints. Pua'a has a type disadvantage, but doesn't struggle to defeat Panpour, and we get our first badge!

GYM #2
Spoiler:
I can use Cut now, but have no one to teach the HM to, so I catch a Patrat for an HM Slave. At the Dreamyard, after beating Team Plasma, I catch Hiamoe the Munna.

I continue my way, battle Cheren again and defeat Team Plasma in the cave. I then arrive in Nacrene City, where I challenge Lenora for the Basic Badge, but not before evolving Pua'a in a Pignite and Ilio in a Herdier.

Her Herdier knows Intimidate. Unfortunately mine does not, so I decide to start with Hiamoe and Yawn. It works, but Hiamoe does not stand a change against Herdier's attacking powers. So now it's time for Pua'a. He boosts attack with Work Up and speed with Flame Charge, and then Thrusts his way through the fight, beating both Herdier and Watchog.

CURRENT TEAM:

Pua'a
Level 20 | ? | Hasty | Blaze | Charcoal
Attacks: Tackle, Work Up, Arm Thrust, Flame Charge

Ilio
Level 20 | ? | Impish | Sand Rush | no item
Attacks: Tackle, Work Up, Bite, Rock Smash

Hiamoe
Level 20 | ? | Jolly | Forewarn | no item
Attacks: Psybeam, Defense Curl, Moonlight, Yawn

“You know,” said Arthur, “it’s at times like this, when I’m trapped in a Vogon airlock with a man from Betelgeuse, and about to die of asphyxiation in deep space, that I really wish I’d listened to what my mother told me when I was young.”
“Why, what did she tell you?”
“I don’t know, I didn’t listen.”

So final update and the final two Gym's were basically Starmie showcasing that Speed + exceptional Special = ownage on Fire, Ground and Poison(via its Psychic Typing). Defeated Blue on my way to Victory Road before reaching the Elite 4. Lorelei was solo'd by Jolteon. Bruno was handled by Venusaur and Butterfree. Agatha was solo'd by Starmie(exploting the Psychic Typing on Ghost) and finally got to Lance. I opened with Jolteon to eliminate his Gyrados and swapped to Onix. His first Dragonair knows Electric moves and hence can't harm the Rock hide my Onix has so I use that fact to raise its Evasion with Double Team. Once Evasion is maxed, I dispose of the ineffective Dragonair to face the next one that happens to have Water and Ice moves. Fortunately with the higher Evasion, I avoid its attacks and eliminate it after a couple STAB moves. Aerodactyl may be a speed demon but can't crack my Rock Snake's hide and falls to Rock Slide. Finally the battle with Dragonite wherein it falls to Rock Slide.

As for Gary/Blue, I open with Starmie to remove Sandslash from play. Swap to Jolteon where I remove Alakazam, Cloyster and Exeggutor. Then for Ninetales I swap to Onix and remove it with an Earthquake. Finally Jolteon falls in the same manner as Nintales to finish the game(and challenge when it moves to Challenge board).

Final team:

Jolteon(level 61)
Thunderbolt
Pin Missile
Quick Attack
Double Team

Onix(level 61)
Strength
Rock Slide
Earthquake

Actually not much happened in the chapter today, but it had some amazing moments, though, and I caught it all (the winning moments anyway), while recording the big battles, so very soon there will be a video journal, of sorts, of this journey.

Chapter 2: Basic Sense of Triumph

The training took about a day to complete, as I let my Pokemon rest between long sessions. The Azurill was still holding onto the Soothe Bell for some time as I continued training on Route 19 (mainly for lots of EVs). After repeated trips to the Pokemon Center and back to Route 19, eventually the Azurill became so happy being with me that it evolved into a Marill, right as it learned Headbutt. At that point it was time for Riolu to have the Soothe Bell so it would get much stronger as well. While I continued training Riolu and taking it on rides, it was not happy enough to evolve, and it was sunset, so I had thought I would have to wait until tomorrow to get it to evolve. I packed up my things and took my four Pokemon over to the Aspertia Gym where I made quick work of the Gym Trainers there, and carefully planned out my strategies on the two remaining Trainers in the gym: Roxanne, the Gym Leader from Hoenn's Rustboro who was teaching the young students about Pokemon, and Cheren, the Gym Leader of Aspertia.

I challenged Roxanne first and (actually forgotten), found out she was a much more serious Trainer than anybody I encountered so far. Her Lileep was a major thorn to my team, but eventually brought it down with Riolu when it went to charge up for a Solarbeam instead of trying to recover more of its health. The other two Pokemon were not that tough, but gave Ralts and Marill a chance to shine. With Roxanne defeated, all of the side trips I had taken were completed, and it was time to go earn a Gym Badge.

Cheren had six Pokemon that in their own rights had effective strategies, mostly involving the move Work Up, which meant the longer the Pokemon were in play, the harder they would hit. First up was Tepig, who proceeded to Ember Minccino until Minccino finally landed Sing, putting Tepig to sleep. Tepig would wake up before it was finished, though, and brought his opponent down. Tepig got off one attack before Buneary would finish the job. Riolu came out next and kept hitting with Quick Attack to prevent Buneary from stacking Work Up and attack. Riolu finished, but not before being hit with Double Hit, which brought his health down to a third. At that point, I switched out Riolu and let Ralts do some work, especially since Pidove was coming, and I knew Riolu would have trouble with that Pokemon. Despite the best efforts of Pidove and Liilipup, Ralts proved too much for them. Teddiursa would later bring down Ralts, but not before Teddiursa became confused due to Confusion. I wanted to keep Marill fresh for Cheren's last Pokemon, so I sent in Riolu expecting him to fall as well. However, Teddiursa fell quickly because it thought it was the enemy and not Riolu. Riolu leveled up, and to my surprise, learned Force Palm.

At this point I knew Cheren's last Pokemon, Munchlax, was going to get into some serious trouble, and thought I could get in a big blow with Riolu before Riolu fell. However, Riolu wasn't finished yet. One Force Palm took down Munchlax all on its own and I stood there surprised at how quickly the tables turned. I was expecting a drawn out match with Marill using Rollout. That wasn't the end of the story, though, as Riolu had one last surprise for me. The excitement of winning the Gym Battle made Riolu so happy that it evolved into a Lucario in front of my eyes. I had thought it was night already, but as I looked out towards the sky, the sun was still peeking over the horizon, and that was enough for Riolu.

Cheren, impressed with the win, proceeded to hand me the Basic Badge, and told me about the other Gyms on Unova and to go earn the other badges. And so I stared at my badge collection and thought about the upcoming challenges I was to face. I bid farewell to Cheren and proceeded to walk towards the exit of the Gym, anxious to begin the next chapter of my journey...

(Took me 3 tries to beat Roxanne, and 2 tries to beat Cheren.)

Island Challenge in Pokmon Ultra Moon

PART 2

I had finally some time to play so here's update from next 3 hours of gameplay. I got through rest of the Melemele pretty fast and prepared to face Hala. It was pretty straightforward fight. Hala didn't even had time to use his Z-Move. And with that, 1st island cleared.
Now I was finally able to get Rockruff - Carly. Shame that Midnight Lycanroc can't learn Accelerock. But I wanted to use one for a long time so I hope she'll do well on the team.
And another "for the 1st time" is here. Mantine Surf. Got about 10 000 points on the 1st try and I enjoyed it more that I expected. I think I'll be doing that a lot.
New island, new Pokmon... But I can't get any right now. And I found out that Golett is Ultra Sun exclusive... Great... After checking another Ground-Types, I found out that I've used Dugtrio, Whiscash, Mudsdale, Marowak, Palossand and Flygon in some of my latest playthroughs, which leaves me only with Garchomp, Claydol or Gastrodon. I remember using Garchomp in few runs and Gastrodon was one of my staple Pokmon in Alpha Sapphire's Battle Chateau. So Ultra Sun's exclusive will be swapped with Ultra Moon's exclusive.
But back to the log! At this point I'm at Brooklet Hill. After almost losing to one of the first Dewpiders, I decided to leave the Trial and train. Lana told me that I would have to start the Trial all over when I returned, but it didn't happened... Wow... Such lies!
So after almost losing to that Dewpider I had to make new plan. Yugi and Carly are weak to the Totem Araquanid - which means my only choice is Aki. I trained her up to level 23 and then grinded Mantine Surf - in which I got better and better, getting 10 BP per ride and bought 2 Rare Candies. Aki evolved and that's where I saved.

Aside from a lengthy training session and a certain Pokemon being very difficult to find, today's chapter mainly was going through the story quickly, as well as battling the second set of Gym Leaders. I still have some story to do before the third Gym, but I also have a lot of training to do, so I'll post this entry and resume training.

Chapter 3: Snake's Venom and Plasma's Return

Rather uninteresting battles occupy most of this part of the journey as I reach Virbank City and meet the Gym Leader, Moxie, being rather furious with her father wanting to be both a captain of a ship and a movie star. Moxie heads to her gym while I moved south to the Virbank Complex. Among battling other trainers, I did most of my training in this area while searching for the fifth member of my team. It took so long that I almost decided on getting a different member instead for my team, but a few battles later I finally came across my fifth member, a Wooper. The training continued until most of my team was able to evolve (Lucario was the only exception as he is already fully evolved). I also took care of Moxie's Gym Trainers somewhat quickly to speed up evolving Wooper to Quagsire. All that remained now was Moxie and the Hoenn Gym Leader hanging out by the docks, Brawly. I decided to step onto the stage and challenge Moxie first.

The first move Moxie loves to perform is to have her Trubbish spread Toxic Spikes all over her opponent's side of the arena so that any Pokemon switched in will be poisoned. This is very difficult to prevent due to Trubbish having a Focus Band equipped. After a few Psybeams, Kirlia finished off the Trubbish, and I then learned Moxie was sending in Seviper next, which is a Dark type. Kirlia would fall quickly to it, so I sent in the only Pokemon that Poison moves have no effect on, Lucario. As such, Lucario is the only Pokemon in my party that will not get poisoned by the spikes. Lucario quickly took out Seviper, and defeated Flamethrower-using Koffing with 1 HP left. Alas, Croagunk moved first before Lucario and took Lucario down. I decided to bring Kirlia back out, but now any Pokemon I send out will get poisoned due to the spikes. Despite that, Kirlia made quick work of Croagunk. Moxie decided to send out her most prized Pokemon, Whirlipede. Whirlipede got its health knocked down by half, but quickly fell Kirlia using Steamroller. At this point, it was time for the new party member to shine, so I sent out Quagsire next. Quagsire also fell to Steamroller and the poisoning, but not before putting Whirlipede's health at critical. I sent out Pignite and finished off Whirlipede with Flame Charge. At this point, the remaining Pokemon ratio is 2 to 1, with Azumarill as a backup if Pignite should fall. Moxie sends out Golbat, and I knew Pignite would be in trouble if Golbat used a Flying attack. Pignite scored a critical hit with Flame Charge while Golbat used Nasty Plot (Golbat was setting up for a Round 2 kill with Aerial Ace). Since the critical was scored, Pignite easily finished off Golbat and completed the battle. Moxie presented me with the Toxic Badge as the prize for winning. Thrilled with a huge win, I healed my Pokemon up, because there was still one more major battler I needed to face: Brawly.

Since Brawly is a Fighting-type user, it was logical that Kirlia would be the Pokemon of choice (again), and it easily took out Brawly's Machop. When Scraggy was about to pop up, though, I again had the situation of a Dark-type quickly turning the table against Kirlia, so I switched Kirlia out. Now, probably the most logical choice here would have been Lucario, but in my mind, there was a Pokemon this chapter that did not see much action, and I went with that Pokemon instead. Scraggy faced Azumarill, and the fight was fierce, with both Intimidate and Bulk Up making Azumarill's physical attacks do less damage than before, and Scraggy used Revenge and Sucker Punch to bring Azumarill to critical health, while Scraggy was not quite at critical health. Knowing that I still had plenty of backup in case Azumarill fell, I let Azumarill attack once more, but using Aqua Jet to make sure Azumarill attacked first on the last round. My faith in Azumarill was rewarded, though, and Scraggy was hit with a critical from the attack and was defeated. At this point, I was unsure who to send against Meditite, and eventually decided to go back to Kirlia. Kirlia defeated Meditite, but not before being sent to critical health by a Thunderpunch. Brawly had just his prized Pokemon left, Makuhita, and sent it out while I kept Kirlia in (I had plenty of backup still in case Kirlia doesn't make it). Makuhita proceeded to be one shot by Psybeam and the battle was over. Virbank's tough trainers have been defeated.

What remained of the battles to happen this chapter are nothing worth noting about...something about Team Plasma returning and a bit of a wild goose chase to happen since a few grunts ran away. One of the grunts in particular had no answer for my Azumarill, and the other was defeated fairly quickly by my Quagsire. Oh, there was a movie that I starred in, too, but who really watches those (although Riolu got to make another appearance)? After setting sail for Castelia City, I proceeded to Route 4 after a little running around in Castelia to head out to the nearby desert and obtain my final Pokemon, Trapinch. Now the time has come to do some heavy training, especially knowing there are still two Gyms left, and in this challenge, I am still not done with Team Plasma. It feels like I'm halfway done, but there are still some tough battles ahead, including an encounter with small creatures that pack a bite bigger than what their size would usually indicate...

(Ironically, my hardest battles were with wild Pokemon this time around, though Moxie put up the hardest battle that I won without retrying)

Chapter 1

I decided to playthrough a ROM Hack, Blaze Black 2 to exact. Decided to make it a bit more challenging by playing on Challenge Mode. Started off in Aspertia City. Found Bianca and went on and got my starter Snivy. Battled Hugh, and won! Traveled to Floccesy and met Alder. Continued on through to Floccesy Ranch where I rescued the Herdier. Went back to Floccesy Town and went through Alder's challenge. Decided to call it a day here.

Update 2 - Umi's Island Challenge - Pokmon Platinum
4 badges acquired!
Second entry, in which I have already four badges! I'm kind of rushing through this part of the game.
But, really, why plan out battle strategies when you can solo these Gym Leaders with one Pokmon? It could be because I'm not really training up everyone and, therefore, my better Pokmons are slightly overleveled, though.

Anyways, I defeated the Second Gym with just Zubat, now evolved into Golbat. After that, I had to fight Jupiter, and even she eventually went down. Fantina was easily dealt with by my now evolved Floatzel spamming Crunch, and Maylene was swept by my newly obtained Gardevoir.

Now, until about Solaceon Town, my team was made up by:
Prinplup as #3
Floatzel as #1
Golbat as the first #2
Gligar, caught in Route 207, as #4
Togepi, hatched from Cynthia's egg, as #5
Meditite, caught on Route 206, as #6 (in place of the second #2, who would have been Machop).

Now, right after beating Maylene, the team has been slightly changed. In fact, I was able to find a Ralts almost immediately in Route 209 - and a male one at that, when Gallade cannot be used in this themed run! I was keeping Togepi in the team, hoping that he would evolve (he's now at level 25), but I needed a better Pokmon that wasn't weak to Electric, so I swapped him out (sorry Togepi!).

Now, I could get some new Pokmon after this - for example, Gastrodon, which can fill all slots but #5, or Yanmega (for spot #6).

The team, as things stand right now, is:
Prinplup, lv. 29 - 1, #3
Floatzel, lv. 30 - #1, 3, 6
Gligar, lv. 21 - #4
Crobat, lv. 29 - #2
Meditite, lv. 23 - #6
Gardevoir, lv. 31 - #5

SUON'S ISLAND CHALLENGE
on Pokmon Black

GYM #3
Spoiler:
I'm chasing Team Plasma in Pinwheel Forest, and while I'm at it catch my new friend: Kiele the Sewaddle. I immediately level her to match with the others, and she evolves in a Swadloon.

I get the Skull back after beating the Plasma, cross the big bridge and reach Castelia City. There's quite some stuff to do here, so I do quite some stuff, but the most important one is of course the gym. It shouldn't be a surprise that this battle against Burgh was very easy...

GYM #4
Spoiler:
The next city and Gym is actually not far away, but inbetween there's a few things to do. Of course, I battle Bianca and Cheren again. I win both battles without fainting. Then I take the detour to the Relic Castle and get a Plume Fossil as a gift. I go back to Nacrene and revive the fossil. Welcome Palila the Archen.

Now the gymbattle. Elesa's Pokmon all use Volt Switch. They're all faster than my Pokmon too with strong attack power, and none of my Pokmon have the advantage, so this is a very difficult battle. And indeed; even though I try, I lose the first fight...

I train my team against wild Pokmon and the remaining trainers, and Kiele evolves in a Leavanny! Everyone is at level 28 when I try again. Still, Elesa's Pokmon are faster and have heavy damaging moves, but with a little bit of luck, I manage to win with only Ilio left standing.

CURRENT TEAM:

“You know,” said Arthur, “it’s at times like this, when I’m trapped in a Vogon airlock with a man from Betelgeuse, and about to die of asphyxiation in deep space, that I really wish I’d listened to what my mother told me when I was young.”
“Why, what did she tell you?”
“I don’t know, I didn’t listen.”

Skystrike's Island Challenge

Session I
Littleroot Town - Dewford Town

The challenge begins with me picking Mudkip as my starter. I only plan to use it until I get my first two team members, though. (Later, I realize I could've used it, but oh well.) I beat Brendan, get my Pokdex and Pok Balls, and set off on my island challenge. Luckily for us, on Route 102, my first Pokmon can be found: Mina the female Ralts, named after the Fairy-type Trial Captain from Alola. I still have to use Mudkip until she learns Confusion, so until then I just switch between Mina and Mudkip until Mina learns Confusion at level 6.

After watching the redundant capture tutorial, we move on to Petalburg Forest. By this time, Mina is able to take on anything that isn't a dark-type with a P in the beginning of its name. That's where my next team member, Cilan the male Shroomish, comes in. I take the time to train him a little bit in the wild grass before continuing on and fighting a Team Aqua grunt.

With that out of the way, we make it to the other half of Route 104, where I get the Bullet Seed TM and immediately staple it to Cilan. At about this time, Mina and Cilan can carry themselves, but I'm not so sure they can take on Roxanne by themselves, so I train for a little while on Route 116. Then, it's time to fight Roxanne.

Roxanne wasn't that hard, I managed to get away with having Mina use Double Team twice to take advantage of Rock Throw and Rock Tomb's lower accuracy, and then using Confusion until Roxanne's first Geodude fainted. Mina didn't get so lucky with the second one, though, so Cilan comes in to defeat the second Geodude and Roxanne's ace, the sturdy Nosepass. This nets us the Stone Badge.

After recovering the Devon Part and Peeko from another Team Aqua grunt, and fighting Brendan, who wasn't much of a challenge, Mr. Briney ferries us to Dewford, where our next two team members are located in Granite Cave: Koga the Zubat, and Roark the Geodude. (Noticing a theme?) After a lot of grinding (grinding with Zubat is not a fun time) we're ready to take on the second gym leader, Brawly.

Machop goes down rather easily to Mina's Confusions. Meditite, however, did not want to succumb, putting up Light Screen and only taking normal damage to Psychic-type moves to boot. After a lot of fighting, though, it finally faints. All that's left is Brawly's bulky Makuhita, which somehow manages to hit Mina with two Vital Throws in a row and take her down to 1 HP. Luckily Mina is faster and knocks it out on the next turn, which means...

Island Challenge in Pokmon Ultra Moon

PART 3

It's time for 2nd Trial! I went with newly evolved Aki and hardly beat Araquanid. Draning Kiss' healing effect really came in handy. But after many turns, it was finally over.
I got Lapras Ride and access to Route 7, which means only one thing. New team member! Pyukumuku! What a cute blob. I named him Sho, because while he is cute and nice, it's also strong. I wanted to test it and oh god... I'm so unlucky... Counter do about 10 damage when it lands and It always faints with no more that 5 HP left, so it's ability isn't really working too. Oh and Carly finally evolved. Which is miracle, given that I play mostly in the night -> it's day in the game.
Well, I even with these limitations, I decided to lead with it in next Trial... And you probably know why it was bad idea... Totem Pokmon is Alolan Marowak, Pokmon immune to Counter. It's able to get Sho from full HP to 3 HP with a crit and then finish it off, which means Sho only dealt like 1 damage. So I switched to Carly and quickly cleared the Trial, even after Salazzle's Torment.
After that, I got to Route 8 and after annoying and unnecessary tutorial for Festival Plaza I seved the game.
