Excluding the red Gyarados and special event shinies like Giratina in Black 2 my first shiny, one I found myself in the wild, was a Pawniard in Y.
It was after I completed the game in Mar 2016. The only reason I knew it was shiny, as I didn’t see the sparkle or hear the ding, was that I encountered some red ones right before it. I probably would have ran had it been a first encounter since I wasn’t hugely familiar with gen 4 or 5 Pokemon.
I wanna say a shiny Onix in Silver, but it was so long ago that I'm probably not remembering correctly. Aside from that, I encountered (and caught) a shiny Clefairy in Platinum, which was pretty awesome.
Ruby version, shiny Linoone which I promptly fainted with my overleveled starter because somehow I got the impression that shiny Pokemon were stronger than regular Pokemon and that it would live. @[email protected]
I caught a shiny Shroomish at some point in Sapphire, and didn't even realize it until years later when I was going through my boxes looking at my Pokemon. Yay for color blindness!
Shiny Pichu in the Crystal. I think I've already said this story here, but here we go. I didn't realize it was shiny until I transferred it to the Stadium 2 and noticing it looked weird.
i was playing ruby and caught the green eared whismur bc i thought he was sick and that it was my duty to help him feel better and get his orange ears back
Pokémon Firered gave me my very first shiny; a Weedle I kept into a blue eyed Beedrill. Too bad I was too young to realize the rarity of such Pokémon. I ended up restarting the game thinking I captured a glitch.
The first shiny I ever found was a shiny Corsola in X after I chain-fished, so I have a soft spot for Corsola, even though it’s not the most useful Pokémon in battle. The first-ever full-odds shiny that I found was a Luvdisc in Shiny Gold Sigma. I was so excited that I finally found a random encounter shiny after a decade and a half of playing Pokémon that I used her all the way through the Elite Four!
