Hail is the worst when you don’t have covered parking. :(

I've seen some of the craziest weather from storms this year alone (tree stump fell over in my yard) in the 20 years I've lived where I'm at now, so hopefully hail isn't added to that

I've seen hail maybe once or twice in my life and the last time I saw it, it was maybe only the size of a BB and nothing larger

I think I'm usually inside for hail but I have had once where I was outside for it and good lord those things were huge.

Course right now we have like 100 degree weather in May here and that's never happened before in my life. June or July? sure. August? You could get away with it. But May? It's wild.

I just ate something pretty big so here's hoping I KO within the next idk hour and a half or so. x.x I can't even afford to sleep super late these days out of fear of missing the time window for my first bus.

... Alas, that's the downside of having a disgustingly far commute.

I'm fairly lucky in that I rarely ever sleep through alarms if I ever have at all. If I wake up late it's because my alarm wasn't set to begin with or I set my alarm later than intended but thankfully my inner clock or some outside force teeends to wake me up a little before my alarm which ... helps.

I don't rely on my inner clock anymore. If I have to wake up at any time earlier than like, 6 AM, then I have to set an alarm, or I risk oversleeping. .-.

And like, I don't want to become to dependent on alarms because I'm going to miss the days where I... didn't have to rely on them as much orz.

The end of the story: we where about 800m away from that thing. They ended up evacuating within a 1km radius so I got off of work about 1.5 hours early. Everything went fine.
What the heck; stay safe, man.
Thanks!
Never mind limited public transportation, how about limited safety? You don't seem very concerned!!

Wishing you the best of luck.
I see your concern. However, if there's one thing Germans are really good at, it's being overly protective, always trying to make things as secure as possible. It may be annoying in some instances, but at least in worst case scenarios they do a pretty good job in keeping things under control.

I fell asleep on my bus and missed my stop but luckily the Lyft to my job was like 2 bucks.

It's pretty clear waking up disgustingly early is NOT my thing. ;_;

I'd be scared to fall asleep on the bus for that very reason holy cow!

but what's scarier is when you're driving and start to feel tired

Oh no :( I'm glad it was cheap. Missing your stop due to falling asleep sucks. So much so, that I make sure to set an alarm in transit when I'm extremely drowsy. From my experience, Google is pretty good at estimating when I'll arrive at my stop.

And broken A/C when it's this hot? Uh-oh.

Public transportation sounds like a pain...

Here you either drive yourself or you're screwed, though, and that also has pros and cons. oof

Angie, you got a $2 Lyft?? what the heck, nice.

Uber wanted $20 from me for a five minute trip to work when my car died once.

I'll take public transit over the costs and time it requires to maintain a car. Though, I live in a place with good public transit so at least I have that option. It's insane how so many places basically force you to need a car.
But like... living in an area with good public transit, I don't understand why anyone would choose to drive instead of take transit. What, don't you love sitting for 2 hours in traffic everyday instead of taking a 30 minute bus ride?

I doooo kind of have to agree; though I think it kinda applies more to those who have good transit options o:

But overall I kinda do prefer rising a bus than taking a car. It’s more eco friendly too!

There's no good transit options for me so driving around myself is the only thing that really works. Maybe if I lived in a city but nah.

our public transit isn't the best here, either. i also have to do a bit of long distance traveling (an hour or two away) so having a car is convenient @[email protected] I kinda wish I didn't have to deal with it though. It's so expensive lmao

Thing is with regards to Car(Driving) vs. Mass Transit, you're leaving out a glaring point: Cost of Living. If you can't afford to live in an area with good access to Mass Transit, Grocery Stores and other necessities, you're going to have to move out in the suburbs to where you can afford it. This, unfortunately, leads to needing a Car(or a Vehicle) just to get to Work. Where I am, its not uncommon to find rent averaging $2k a month(if not above that). Meaning just to make ends meet, you'd have to earn at least $20/hour for putting a roof over your head, utilities and food. Want to buy a home as opposed to rent? Good luck finding one for less than $500k where I am.

I live in a large metropolitan city and there's only an option to take the bus

nevermind the fact that my state's previous governor turned down federal funding for high-speed rail almost 9 years ago as well

public transportation is kinda ass here but I put up with it because I don't really have any other choice but to.
