Sounds rough, Yue Han! Have you tried audio books? I haven't all that much, but they're pretty fun and easy to zone into.

It's hard to find the right kind of book, though. I essentially just read fiction, and it's sometimes tricky to find an author with a satisfying writing style. Have recently been getting into simpler prose, like A Monster Calls by Patrick Ness. A truly brilliant book that's full of truth. It's sort of a tacky word to use, but its the best one out there. Like, when a sentence perfectly sums up an area of life or a feeling, and it makes you stop in your tracks... it's pretty magical. Peter and Wendy, by J.M Barrie, is abundant in that area.

That's what makes writing so worthwhile and rewarding. Summing something up well.

I do enjoy reading when my mind doesn't annoy me too much like that. I don't think I'd like audio books for myself personally though. I can myself see sitting down to listen to a book making one of my other senses play up like I'll start to feel itchy or something haha.

I did recently finish reading The Sirens of Titan by Kurt Vonnegut and would like to get into more of him. Fantasy/sci-fi is where my interests lie.

Doing math used to give me an itchy nose and eyes. It was murder. So, sympathy.

And sci fi and fantasy are super interesting, huh. The Artemis Fowl series constitutes as both, and I definitely recommend it. Technically, it's for children but the layers of content and originality make it universal. Eoin Colfer is a genius.

Have you read any of the Chaos Walking books? I'm halfway through The Knife of Never Letting Go, which is the first, and it's amazing. And the movie is on the horizon, also. Tom Holland and Daisy Ridley - sounds epic.

And ahh... the song Non je ne regrette rien by Edith Piaf is so nostalgic.

I love audiobooks!

I can only listen to audiobooks when I'm not supposed to be doing anything else - e.g. while working out, driving, etc. Otherwise, I wind up zoning out and have to rewind a ton. I love sci-fi and fantasy, but my true favorite genre is mystery. I've actually just recently finished listening to a series of BBC Radio adaptations of Agatha Christie books with a full cast/sound effects/etc. It was pretty enjoyable :D

My commute to and from work is too short for me to listen to podcasts and audiobooks, and I'm not a real fan of pausing while listening :<

that and while at work/home, I get far too distracted just from listening to the same thing for far too long as well

I've never listened to any audiobooks. Though it's an idea I thought about while driving longer distances like Orlando or smth if i'm driving by myself. After all I should get back to reading books sometime, even if it's just listening to them.

same. I used to read them all the time when i was a kid and now i rarely settle down and try reading a book. i mean, i read fanfiction from time to time but i don't remember the last time i sat down and read a book cover to cover and that's extremely sad to say.

I remember being really into Agatha Christie in grade school and that's what really got me into murder mysteries and I think to this day I would still be into those. Fiction novels in general seem to appeal more to me.

So, I've completely lost my appetite? I feel the physical symptoms of hunger (oh, do I feel them), but I can't seem to get anything through my mouth without a feeling of disgust? I've had to force myself to drink milk to prevent myself from getting malnourished? This is interesting.
