I make this topic after realizing I can see from my left eye again. I have horrible vision in my left eye, and since getting glasses I have not gone without them unless I sleep.

Then I took them off today and realized I could read holding my right eye closed. Something that I could never do previously.

It's more of a question of how is your vision, not asking specifically if you have glasses or contacts. Although that could be part of your answer.

Eh. Like a 6/10. To the point where I need either glasses or contacts of some sort, but I'm going to go for contacts because I look stupid with glasses and would rather not.

My optometrist told me my eyesight is better than average after I convinced myself I needed glasses.

20/20. My vision is perfect, last time I got it checked a few months ago. I'm happy with that; I really don't want glasses until I'm over 30.

I'm legally blind without my glasses on.

I always have been, though, since I was like 6 or 7, so I can't remember any different, really.

Everything is a blur when I take them off, but I'm like oh well. At this point they're not getting worse, at least.

My eyes are horrendous. I'm so near-sighted that I can't see clearly more than like a foot away from me if that.

My eyesight has been gradually worsening since the beginning of last year and during this year it deteriorated rapidly to the point where I can only see what's inches in front of me. I guess I had it coming for playing Injustice mobile under the blanket at 3 am back in sixth grade just so I could get limited edition characters. Not worth it, but good times indeed.

(in case you're wondering how something from 2014 would affect my eyesight now; it's the habit and addiction)

-1.50 in my right eye and -2.00 in my left. I definitely need glasses to do things like read signs unless I'm super close to them. Do like glasses a lot as a fashion accessory though so it's not an issue if I need to wear them, and I'm just happy enough my eyesight isn't a lot worse overall haha.

That's probably not what caused it. Screens at night aren't nearly as detrimental to your eyes as is commonly thought apparently.

I've needed glasses since I was about 8 or so, and my eyesight has gotten worse over the years. Dunno if it's going to get worse than it already is or not though.

I've been wearing glasses for half my life now, so I think my vision is far from perfect :P

Even if I were to ever get it corrected with laser eye surgery, I'd still like to have a prescription for blue light protection since I do stare at screens quite a bit

Maybe not damaging enough to be a factor, but a prolonged exposure, especially if you decide to just let it be for 5 years definitely adds up to the problem. Doesn't help that I had my first glasses two years after that, and another two years later when I could not make out what was on the whiteboard (sat in the middle of the class, mind you). I know age and restlessness are parts of the issue, but there's no denying that my phone addiction does not help.

EDIT: Just found two sites which debunked everything I said previously. Should've looked them up before posting. Oh well, gonna leave it here still as an emblem of my illiteracy.

I've been wearing glasses since I was in third grade so theyre not great lmao. My eyesight got a little better after this one summer where I went without them because they broke and so I stood like a foot away from the TV playing Tales of Symphonia half that summer. idk how it was kinda funny but they haven't gotten any better (I think they've gotten worse bc age) since. Right now iirc both eyes are like -3.75 to -4.25 yikes. Everything is most certainly a blur when I take them off.

I'm pretty sure it's fine. I once got it tested when I saw outside an opticians a sign that said something like free sandwich if you get your eyes tested and it came back 20/20. That was a few years ago now though but I haven't had any problems ever that I can recall. Both of my parents did end up getting glasses in their late 30s or early 40s though but I don't think either of them have severely impaired sight but we'll see for me...

i made this post yesterday and it’s made me realize the reason I’ve probably had bad headaches this past Friday and today is because I’m not wearing my glasses while I work :(

I'm probably the only person I know with 20/20 vision. That being said I was recently diagnosed with mild colorblindness.

Bad enough to need glasses, but not so bad I can't see without them. iirc I got a combo of near-sightedness and astigmatism. If I take my glasses off, everything gets just a little blurrier, but the stuff farther away is worse.

Convergence issues in the one eye, Currently treating myself with a program from my doctor. Hopefully it improves in time for my fall classes.
“In great deeds, something abides. On great fields, something stays. Forms change and pass; bodies disappear; but spirits linger, to consecrate ground for the vision-place of souls… generations that know us not and that we know not of, heart-drawn to see where and by whom great things were suffered and done for them, shall come to this deathless field, to ponder and dream; and lo! the shadow of a mighty presence shall wrap them in its bosom, and the power of the vision pass into their souls.”

At the age of 25 I started getting strange persistent headaches every now and then. I thought it was because I forgot to keep my coffee addiction up on the weekends but it didn't seem to completely explain it. I even got proper migraines with aura (partial loss of sight/feel) sometimes.

A couple of years ago, my friend who is an optician convinced me to let her examine me. She came to the conclusion that I'm extremely far-sighted and has some kind of other issue causing things to be blurry, so my eye-muscles were basically working hard to compensate every time I opened my eyes, and worked in exhausting overdrive whenever I read things closely, such as on a screen.

Solution: Rika became a person who wears glasses fulltime and who wears stronger reading glasses whenever they are at the computer or whenever they think they will stare at their phone or a book for longer times. Their reading glasses are +2 or +2.5 iirc depending on if they're at work (slightly closer to the screen) or at home (slightly further).

I'm kind of cute in glasses so it's fine. But I do miss being able to easily hug/kiss others without the glasses being in the way ;; that's srsly the biggest downside haha. That, and the fact that I see worse in the dark through glasses than with unobscured eyes.
