LeafGreen! That was like one of the first video games I'd ever played too so it basically changed my life

Fire Red was technically my first, though I don't remember it nearly as much as I do Diamond/Pearl.

Pokémon Platinum :))) It gave me SUCH a hard time back then, but I learned a lot with it! I remember my beloved Empoleon, then only Pokémon I used through all the game xD Classic newbie mistake.
I want to replay this game so much, but I lost my cartridge :c

The first game that I played was Yellow, though it was my cousin's copy that I just borrowed for a bit. A pre-owned copy of Gold was the first game that I owned, and Sapphire was the first brand-new game that I had.

Silver is the game I technically played first. It was my brother's copy though, so I wasn't allowed to play it often, but I'm counting it, anyway.

Gold, together with a GBA for Christmas 2001. It wasn't my first ever game but still my first Nintendo game, and surely it is one of the games I'm most nostalgic for.

Pokémon Crystal!

My cousin was living with my grandparents and I went to visit them one day and saw he had a game that was about pokémon. I watched a show on TV that was called pokémon, so it must be pretty cool! So I played it a bit on his Game Boy, picking Cyndaquil. I then remember asking my parents for a Game Boy for my birthday which I would then take to their house and I remember asking my cousin to borrow his pokémon game which he said I could keep as he never played it.

It's kind of a bit hazy as this was a long time ago when I was very young but it roughly went like that!

first game I ever played was Fire Red, only for a short time, maybe a month or so, then somehow the game got lost when I moved homes.

Didn't play any other Pokemon game until I bought Black 2 with my own money, I started buying some older generation games to 'catch up' a bit... I have a different copy of Fire Red
I ♥ Foxes and Cats!! - art i drew myself
instead of 'Catch 'em All' for me would be "gotta Pet 'Em All"

Started with Yellow. Didn’t actually own a Pokémon game until I got a GBA and Silver for my birthday when I was 8 or 9, but for years before that I would always borrow my step-aunt’s GBC and her copy of Yellow. I can’t count how many times I had to start the game over before I finally convinced her to let me keep the game long enough to beat the elite four.

I started with Ruby, on the VBA emulator, back in first grade. An older family friend had it on his computer and copied it over to ours. I mostly had my dad translate it for me until I learned enough English to go about myself.

My first Pokémon ever was Torchic. I chose him because he was cute. My sister had Mudkip. She invented what we called the "Poké Ball Attack": you don't battle the wild Pokémon, you just throw the ball right away. She caught her Zigzagoon that way, and we were so impressed. (I was 8 and she was 6, at most.)

Blaziken grew to be the strongest, most awesome creature that ever lived, in any of my Pokémon games. He is the only Pokémon I ever raised to level 100, and during normal gameplay at that. You see, when I beat the champion for the first time, the game said THE END, and I cried because I thought that it was over and that all my Pokémon were gone, and opened the save file from before facing the champion and lost on purpose. For a long time I played without going to the league until I learned that yes, you could continue afterwards.

I know Hoenn like the back of my hand. It is to me what Kanto is to older fans. I've been everywhere, unlocked all its secrets. Once we recognised the braille script in the Sealed Chamber, we found how to read braille online and translated it on paper. It was a great adventure, to finally know what those strange rock formations in three places were for.

I played it for years and I still have the game and my save file on my computer. The amount of memories this game has for me is just unbelievable.

I feel like an absolute newborn right now, omg

My first ever game was Pokemon Ranger 1; when I picked it out I didn't have a concept of "main series vs. spinoffs", and the description on the box just sounded cool. My first main-series game, a short time later, was Diamond.

For me, TECHNICALLY, Pokemon Emerald was where I started. But, it wasn't my game. But, that's essentially where I started. The first Pokemon game I played that was my own, though? Pokemon Diamond.
