Which one do you think has the most interesting culture?

I find Johto's culture the most fascinating, along with Alola's. Johto's culture is extremely rich, and feels most inspired by the country it is based on, which is Japan. As for Alola, I've always found how different Alola's culture is from the rest of the regions to be amusing. Ie: no gyms, z-moves, etc.

I really want more Pokemon region that actually explore their culture, tbh.

Kalos. I absolutely adore French culture and I feel as though Kalos emulates it very well. Lumiose captures the essence of Paris with the numerous bistros, alleyways, and boutiques. I also love how fashion played a role in story with the introduction of character customization. After all, Paris is the fashion-capital of the world, and France itself has historically been a fashion-conscious nation. Everything about Kalos is reminiscent of France, the region is incredibly well-thought out and in my opinion, it is the first region to truly resemble a country as a whole.

I also do love Johto’s culture. While Kanto, Hoenn, and Sinnoh are also based on various regions in Japan, Johto’s culture is the most interesting and seems to reflect traditional Japanese practices and values more so than the others.

Alola for me, feels very Hawaiian, however, I feel as though they could have done more with it. To me, it’s as if they were holding back in some form.

i feel somewhat differently from the post above in that Alola for me has the best execution as far as culture goes. the reason being is because instead of the culture being limited to just noteworthy landmarks and maybe characters, Alola takes it a step further by entrenching (is this the right word?) its culture in the dialogue and even everyday battles. love them or hate them, Z-moves have become a staple of Alolan culture and so has Totem Pokemon. trials are another thing, and even mantine surfing was a cute thing that added even a bit of extra flavour to the culture.

all in all, for all of the improvements that could be made to SM/USUM, Game Freak certainly has nailed down the culture aspect, at least.

Johto has one of the cooler cultures on paper, but in practice eeh....I feel like the people who live there outside of like Ecruteak just feels like a standard "towns and plains" region. Not saying Johto is bad, just a bit underutilized in my opinion. Given the time the crew took to make Alola's culture so fleshed out, I think I'll put that as the most interesting region culture wise. Pretty much every character in the region has something to say about the Tapus, their own families, how they live, etc. And the locations tie in so well, especially the cemeteries. Those really hit the whole "connection" feel home.

I would say Galar due to it being based off of the British culture that I experience ever day given that I've lived here my whole. I really like the whole thing about having stadiums to host Pokémon battles in and all the other references to British culture.

Alola comes in as a close second for me, with the lack of gyms as well as the lack of an Elite 4 and Champion prior to the end part of the game's story. Overall the last two regions have had more interesting culture than the previous regions imo.

Johto for sure, in terms of atmosphere. But Alola was undeniably the most fleshed out when it came to a region with a distinguished culture. Mind you, I haven't seen anything of Galar.

I wish Hoenn had gotten more of a distinguished culture and atmosphere to it. It's an amazing region, but it feels sort of flat and boring in these terms. One could say it's a quite modern region and that that's it's thing, compared to other regions who often focus on older things such as temples, religions, castles and what have you.

Alola! Johto is lovely too, but Alola's is so unique and interesting with their trials, Z-moves, totems, and etc. I'd love to start off as a trainer here. <3
