Since the starters are 87.5% male, they're likely to go extinct someday.

I can only hope, for some Pokemon.

I actually wonder if it'd be possible for some pre-evolved Pokemon to go extinct over time. Remember the baby Nidoqueen? Could that happen to any Pokemon?

Fixed...I think.

I suppose baby Nidoqueen could be a one-off though, because they're unable to breed...which is weird, because they're the only non-Legendary, non-baby Pokemon that can't, asides from Nidorina. So their existence is solely dependant on the male Nidoran line...oof.

I suppose it depends on the different canons, like in the anime there's the example of the baby Nidoqueen and plenty of times there's been several of the same legendary Pokemon, starters etc, so those Pokemon seem fine in the anime/manga! In terms of the games, yeah there could be a problem there haha, although there is just an infinite spawn of Pokemon technically, but for realistic purposes, there could be a problem with the rarity/low amounts of certain species of Pokemon!
