Obviously, my favorite is Pikachu, but originally when I was just getting started with Pokemon, it was actually Emolga.

I've got a confession:

I've been trying to convince myself that Dunsparce and Wartortle (and lately, Leafeon) are tied as my #1 favorite Pokémon, but I think I've only been hanging onto Dunsparce because it's been my "mascot" for so long. There are those special memories of pretending to be a Pokémon professor, studying the similarities between Dunsparce and Gligar (which I once believed were related) and then finding Noko, the Adamant+Serene Grace Shiny Dunsparce I chained in DP years later and used as my "starter" in HeartGold, yet, even after transferring Dunsparce and co., I can't help but want to keep Wartortle in my lead ever since The Isle of Armor came out. Wartortle honestly feels more nostalgic to me (perhaps moreso than any other Pokémon), between writing "Wartortle's Loose Tooth" with my mom and my dad getting me a bootleg Wartortle card from the liquor store, and has a fantastic aesthetic to boot!

Dunsparce is still among my top favorite Pokémon, but I think it's time to say that Wartortle is my #1.

1. Venusaur

Spoiler:
The entire evolution line but since it's one Pokémon going through different stages I always include the final form.
Bulbasaur wasn't the most popular one but I love the iconic design, colour scheme and I believe it stands out.
ITechnically Bulbasaur is number one either way. He also represents the generation I've started in.

Bulbasaur was actually the last starter I tried out in Gen 1.I barely knew anyone who choose him so picking one
felt extra unique. I picked one again in LeafGreen and I believe it's one of the three Pokémon I've managed to
train up to level 100.

2. Sceptile

Spoiler:
Sceptile and it's pre-evolutions are basically my dream design. I'm fond of lizards, gecko's etc. and the colour green is
my way to go. The bipedal posture is a bonus because for some reason those Pokémon designs appeal to me more in general.

3. Cacturne

Spoiler:
Once again, mean and green. I like plants, but especially those that are different. A cactus or a flytrap plant.
I like the exotic design of a cactus and when it comes in the form of a cactus, I'm sold.

4. Drapion

Spoiler:
The latest Pokémon that I added to my last of favourites has to be Drapion. Initially I didn't care much for its design and
it didn't appeal to me whatsoever. The last game I bought and still am playing is Platinum. I got myself a Skorupi and
evolved the little guy into this majestic being. I love it's typing and moveset.

5. Walrein

Spoiler:
Another Pokémon that I've only started to appreciate later on. I always thought Walrein felt intimidating in-game yet
for some reason I never caught and leveled one up during my playthrough of either Saphire, Ruby or Emerald.
I adore the tone of blue with yellow eyes and the tusk appearing behind its glorious whiskers.

6. Victreebel

Spoiler:
Confirming one of my earlier appreciation for exotic plants is Victreebel. I love catching one of those goofy
Bellsprouts, beating trainers up with my Weepinbell and look for that Leaf stone in order to finally evolve it
into an awesome Victreebel. The design is vicious and in-game it always stood out for me, sweeping countless
of opponents. Its Pokédex entry is a fune one as well.

7. Slowbro

Spoiler:
One simply must applaud the creativity when it comes to the Slowpoke line. It's nice to see that they've
invested so much in this silly Pokémon and came up with some unique and nice evolutions and forms.
I must say that Mega Slowbro looks beyond autrocious but all is good when they added the Galarian form.
Slowking is quite cool as well and I've already got a feeling Galarian Slowking will be an absolute beast.

8. Malamar

Spoiler:
I don't really watch the anime but I've picked up how Malamar was introduced and what role he played.
It sounded fantastic! The evil plot matches its neat and slick design. Villain-looking types always appealed to me.
The way you evolve your Inkay by holding your console upside down is an amazing feature.

9. Poliwrath

Spoiler:
I must confess a nostalgic bond with a plush I once had. It was a Poliwhirl actually.
Beside the games I'm not really a collector but I was quite attached to it as a kid.
The contrast between Poliwhirl innocence and Poliwrath's machismo is cool and
seperates both despite sharing a similar design.

10. Chandelure

Spoiler:
Ghosts are such a cool type and I love most designs. The addition of the Fire typing makes it even
cooler. Well.. hotter or whatever. It stands out even more when it's animated in Pokkén Tournament.
It has some superb TCG designs as well.

honourable mention: Mandibuzz, Scyther, Salamence, Feraligatr, Turtonator, Qwilfish, Alakazam, Noctowl, Conkelldur

Let's go with evolutionary lines. In no particular order: Growlithe line, Togepi line, Pichu line, Celebi, Squirtle line, Chikorita line, and Riolu line. Those should be my favorites.
