How often do you buy something without really giving it much thought, or how often do you find yourself regretting purchases?

For me this happens a lot... especially when I'm buying things like games or books that just end up collecting dust...

How about you guys? I know I'm not the only one with this negative habit.

Some books yes, all because the book has a surprise deal discount or something like that, I tend to impulse buying just in case I'll read it. Half of them I ended not reading them at all

I also have buyer's remorse on collectible card games, since I'm one of those people who like collecting them yet it's hard to find someone else with the same interest in my neighborhood so it just turns into collection only.

I'm actually surprisingly calculated when planning to buy things, like it's very rare that I'll see online and buy without thinking. If I'm in a good situation financially I'll consider things more though! That being said, if I see something that I really want, I literally won't stop until I convince myself to buy it, that ended up happening with my Switch haha, definitely didn't feel buyer's remorse with that though! :)

I have very little impulse control, but I'm also poor enough that I can usually fight off the desire to impulse buy anything expensive/at full price. That being said, as my Steam library demonstrates, when I see stuff is cheap/on sale, my resistance crumbles so much easier. That's why I tend to just flat out avoid looking at things when money is particularly tight.

In my current habits, I don't like spending and it takes me a while to make an actual decision before I opt to buy something.

I've had this happen, but mostly with in-app purchases in mobile games. I used to spend hundreds of dollars rolling in gacha games trying to get specific items/cards/characters :x there was often a lot of guilt and regret not long after making those purchases, even if I ended up getting what I wanted, and I'd spend the next day or two feeling bad about it. glad I mostly moved on from most gacha games and don't have interest spending on them anymore.

Many times.
I've learned to keep my receipts just in case. It's good practice if the place takes returns.

Bought way too much stuff throughout the course of quarantine that I regret. Mostly for passion projects that I really thought I could stick with. I'm getting this close to becoming an online seller in the coming weeks.

i rarely indulge in impulse buying tbh. at least, not anymore.

there have been times in the past that i have (a lot), but i feel like these days, i have to be super strict on myself with spending more than ever, so i usually give any purchase deep consideration before i go through with it. :<
