how consistently do you get medical check-ups? this includes the dentist, dermatologist, ophthalmologist, etc. do you go when it's recommended to (such as once every 1-3 years, for example), or do you only go when you notice a problem you want to discuss? when was the last time you were at a medical facility/doctor?
Before coronavirus, I was seeing a nurse every month for a routine check-up - blood, blood pressure, weight, an ECG if my doctor decided it was called for, etc. This was one of the conditions for me getting away from secondary care in 2016, and I was fine with it. I only saw my GP for a review every six months or so or if I had a concern I needed to talk with him about.

I tend to schedule my dentist and hygeinist on the same day once every six months - I'm on a DD, so I pay for 2 appointments annually for both - and I get a letter from my optician every 2 years to remind me I need to book an appointment to see them. My hypnotherapist is as and when, but it's monthly Zoom right now.

The last time I was at a medical facility was...mid-March, I think? My local surgery has been closed for general visits since April, and I wouldn't even consider going into a hospital because I'm terrified of them. My dental practice is supposed to reopen at the end of the month but I won't be going in there.

Before Coronavirus, I went to a dentist twice a year, and main doctor once a year. I also go to the eye doctor every two years because that's all my insurance allows. Which, I've always found stupid. This year, neither are happening, though, obviously. =/ I never go to a dermatologist, though, never been to one. I'm really hoping this pandemic ends by the end of this year because I really want to go to the dentist. My mom won't schedule an appointment, though, so rip, I guess. u_u

Once a year I will go to the doctor for a checkup and every other 3 or 5 years I would see a cardiology doctor. I used to see the dermatologist once a year to get a new prescription and that changed since now I would just have to order for a new prescription instead of having to directly see the dermatologist.

I try to go to the doctor and dentist and such as little as possible. Pretty much only on the rare occasion that I get sick or really need a bit of dental work done or really need new glasses. I don't think I've had a general checkup in probably almost a decade at this point iirc.

I take it there's some reason you can't make the appointment yourself?

Because I have a pacemaker along with heart issues I have to see the cardiologist every 6 months. I go to the doctors about the same. I've gotten better as I've gotten older only because I don't have either of my parents anymore as they both died from heart attacks at a rather youngish age.

I go to the dentist once a year and call the GP whenever I have a problem, which tends to be once or twice a year. Did last proper checkup three years ago, maybe next one...

I see a doctor every few months, since I have anxiety pretty severely.

At first I wasn't sure how to approach somebody about it, since I felt I might get ridiculed or brushed off. What started as occasional panic attacks turned weekly, then daily, in short I ended up in an ambulance.

Through these frequent appointments we found a working medication, and I have not had a panic attack in months. Although I noticed an increase of anxiety in the past week -_- Which sucks I canceled my appointment earlier, since I was doing fine and I wanted to minimize going out during the pandemic. There was also some pressure from my family on that decision.

I am at the doctor's a lot, aha. I've been seeing an ENT because of a nasal issue - expected to have surgery later this year when I can find the time and luckily will be able to do private instead of having to wait 1.5 - 2 years under the public health care system. Having 2 seperate wisdom teeth surgery this year too so going to be seeing my dentist a lot more than usual (but we only see him twice a year generally).

I used to see a gastroenterologist in the past for acid reflux - did a lot of testing and they're still unsure of the root cause of my symptoms. Still in contact with my regular GP since I've gone back on medication for it. Used to go to a physiologist regularly because of movement issues in my jaw. When I was very young, had to work with specialists who treat eating disorders so I could re-learn how to eat. Had a lot of medical testing in the past for other conditions (chest pain etc.) which required a cardiologist at some point but thankfully it was OK? Been to the doctor to arrange therapy in the past too if that counts, been meaning to arrange it again but with all the other medical issues I've pushed it very far back. Basically been in the doctor's waiting room to the point I could memorise it completely so... not great but it is what it is. :D

I go to the dentist every two months, because of my high consumption of sugar and also because I enjoy having my teeth cleaned professionally. As far as the doctors? I do not go unless it is for a required physical.

Simply put, I love humans.

I go to an endocrinologist every six months for regular check ins and refills. I actually just had a phone appointment with my doctor yesterday haha.

As for the dentist, last one I checked was a couple years ago or so for a huge toothache. Don't have dental insurance for regular visits oof.
