Okay, this shouldn't be "stupid" or "random"... I think o_o;; and I certanly hope that this can be considered a poll... there is a "yes" or "no" answer to it XD

Do you think parents limiting children's time on things like the computer and the TV is right?
Don't forget to explain why ^^; Please?

In my opinion... I am quite undecided. :/
On one hand, I'm a victim of this ^^; I hate having only a certain amount of time a day. I want to get on, but I can't if I don't have time. I find it really annoying. It also makes the day more boring, since I don't have a social life.
On the other hand, I know that the parents are just trying to help the children get out and get active. (However, this seems to backfire over here ^^; ). The kids might not be happy, but I know that it's the thought that counts.

I'll make a proper signature when Pokecommunity gets a proper slogan

i voted for who cares? because my parents dont care about that stuff.:)
Isnt it cold outside?
When it feel like no ones loving you
But Im watching you
And Ill never hold you down
And they say
That souls can never fade
But along the way
It seem your shadow was erased
Life is jaded, love had faded
Let me take you away from here oh
Let me kiss you, they wont miss you
Let me lift you away from here
Arent you paranoid?
When it feels like someones watching you?
But Im protecting you
And you need not be afraid
And they said
To follow voices in your head
And thats where I fed
My soul when I was dead
Life is jaded, love had faded
Let me take you away from here oh
Let me kiss you, they wont miss you
Let me lift you away from here

Lol, of course not. Tch, I was a kid an' they were usually worried about how much time I spend in front o' tha TV regardin' my health, an' not stayin' up late b/c "there was bad stuff showing at night". Tch, that didn't stop me from sneakin' into tha livin' room at night an' watchin' naughty movies when I was eleven though, so nah, even if parents DO limit time, tha kid always finds a way around it. W00t!
Kids > Parents. XD

Holy frickin' cheese fries. O.<;; My parents are like teh masters on limiting me on my computer time. ><;;;; See...even as I post this I'm supposed to be offline...for the rest of the day in fact. XD See with me, it wouldn't be that much of a problem if I wasn't such a rebelious child. ;D I just hate having people tell me what to do...yeah I know, I'll have to deal with it, but it just annoys me, darnit! XD

As for the fact on whether it's fair or not...I don't know. XD I view it as unfair, but that's because it's happening to me. XD But really...along the road I guess I'll be thankful for my mom kicking me offline...pffft, yeah whatever. XD

Most of the times, no. The internet is no normal game, and I don't see a place for some 'time limit'. =/ Even if the kid is really young, what good could a time limit do? Honestly? It's just out of nature.

I don't listen to my parent's set time limits often. They just don't understand how futile it is.

My parents love them. <_< When I first got my Gameboy, I was only allowed to play it for 30 minutes on Fridays, 1 hour on Saturdays, and another hour on Sundays. o_O When we got more consoles, it wasn't any different. 1 hour Fridays/days off, and then 1.5 hours each for Sat/Sun. That's... slipped off, though. ^^; My parents honestly don't pay attention to how much time I spend on those now. I guess they figure I'm old enough to regulate myself. That, or they just don't realize I'm playing. (I'm still technically not allowed to play video games during the weekdays... but they've caught me doing it and haven't even acknowledged it, so they're either really stupid or they don't mind anymore... o_O) With the computers, I have "virtually" unlimited time... meaning during the day I can be on as much as I want as long as they don't want whichever computer I'm on. <<; And I can't be on after 9 PM - 11 PM. It changes all the time depending on whether my mom wants on or not. XD;;

Anyway, to actually answer the question... I do believe limits are a good thing, since I know if my brother didn't have them he'd spend WAY too much time on "electronics" as we tend to call all the good stuff... and he's already doing fairly bad in some of his schooling due to the fact he barely reads, etc. x_x; But... when they push it WAY too far, that's when I can't stand it. I mean, I'm really responsible, so if I'm in an uncomfortable situation online, I'll get myself out of it. I don't hand out personal information left and right... and after 9/10/11/whenever, it's not like I talk to strangers. My mom... just can't grasp or comprehend that, though, which is why I always have to get off at promptly that time. I mean, I understand it's for my own safety, but I've been using the internet for years and I really do know how to handle myself. >_o;;

It depends on the child really. =x If the child is well capable of organizing his/her's time on various pastimes, then the parent should know. But if you're like me - o.o;

Who gets carried away, and thinks that 5 hours is like 1 hour, who can't control herself, who sneaks on when her mom is out - then yes. The parent(s) should limit time. ;-;

Think 5 hours as 1? That's not possible..... :P x_x Then again, a wise friend told me time was relative..... so I don't know.

Time flies when you're having fun. *sweatdrop* n_n;;; 5 hours in front of the computer feels the same as 1 hour in Biology class. xD;;;

^ Yes. I need to be limited for the good of my eyes. I spend whole days online. ._.;
I think if the limits are insane, no. Within reasonable limits, I support it. If it's just to be a tyrant, no. If it's to look after their eyesight, protect them from repetitive motion disorder thingy... etc., yep.
I've been a victim of it before.
