Try not to mention shinies with color schemes that look too close to the original - we all know those would be better off changed. This is more your opinion on shinies that you don't like the colors of. Which shiny color schemes that aren't too close to their originals do you personally dislike/would change?

espeon for me... and I was breeding for shiny scorbunny till I realized how odd cinderace's shiny looks. I guess I will nickname mine Nesquik when/if I get it lol

Any shiny that turns into this throw green like Tranquill🤢.

I'd give Pidove and it's whole line this beautiful white with blue or at least swap the dark grey spots with the light gray ya'know.

They should've gave shiny nidoqueen the color scheme of nidoking just like how shiny nidoking takes nidoqueen's color scheme.

There isn’t one particular colour scheme that I dislike. Green shinies are hit and miss for me and contrary to popular opinion, I actually find shiny Espeon to be alluring. I do think some Pokémon look awkward being green (Ursaring I’m looking at you.)

Overall I think there are some dark orange and yellow shinies that are done poorly. Octillery is especially hideous, as it’s some shade of brown-green-yellow that is incredibly unflattering. Mismagius has an awful shiny form as well, it’s truly such an injustice.

Espeon and Alcremie’s shiny forms are an injustice to the pokemon world. (¬д¬。)

Also shiny female Hippowdon. It looks just like a normal male Hippowdon making it needlessly confusing. Lastly, shiny Dragonite. The color scheme for it isn’t actually that bad but when you think of how it could have looked when compared to shiny Dragonair it’s just.. such a let down. :’(

A lot of the hate for green is a little one-dimensional. Espeon's garish colouration holds some appeal, whereas Dragonite's alternate colour is awful (and doesn't fit my theme of naming dragon pokémon out of fictional dragons, Dragonite getting Glaedr from Eragon, as if I could remember the green one in that series' name - if it was even revealed - it would go to Flygon).

I mean, it's not like we just hate the color green, it just doesn't look right on certain pokemon especially if there were other better shiny color options.

Some include Ursaring, Espeon, Weavile, Cyndaquil line, Grumpig and the infamous Nidoqueen.

I don’t hate all green shinies though, I love Teddiursa, Sudowoodo, Stantler, Marill and even Lileep.

Flygon was a huge travesty, it would be amazing if the green parts that changed to dark green changed to a different color. Its the green with the blue I hate.

wow am i the only person who likes green espeon

Anyway, if there's a Shiny I really dislike that isn't an awful shade of green, it's got to be Dedenne's.

It looks fine from the back, but combined with the yellow accents? It's awful.

Any Pokemon that flips red for green and vice-versa absolutely sucks for color blind people like me. Shroomish in the earlier games was bad for this, swapping it's green spots for red ones. I actually caught a shiny Shroomish at some point on Sapphire, and never even realized until years later because of it.

And shiny Espeon belongs in the thread for best shiny color schemes, not this one!

not sure what the hell game freak was thinking when they made shiinotic's colour scheme but it's sure the first thing that comes to mind when thinking of unappealing shiny colours.

also any other pokemon that has a very weird shade of yellow or green like exeggutor and kabutops. not rly a fan of those.

I have a dislike for shinies that barely have a difference (The Togepi line, Pikachu, Persian, etc.)

Personally not a fan of any of the neon green ones, and I think it's sad that there's so many of them.

Also I have an issue with shinies that change over the generations, like skitty being more distinctly peachy color in earlier gens, but becoming increasingly more samey in current gens? But it extends to all shinies that have some form of extreme change over the generations.

I honestly wish over all that shinies had more thought put into them in general, I think all shinies should be appealing and distinct, while also still fitting in with the pokemon breed, and I don't see why that's so hard to accomplish.

I'm literally the same, Espeon is my least favourite shiny, it literally looks like slime haha. It's a shame cause I love Espeon as a Pokemon and its shiny variant had a lot of potential, especially as how cool Umbreon's is.

Aside from the Shinies which barely change (which of course are always a let-down because you had the chance to get something cool and instead you get nothing), I'd say the ones that bother me most would be Nidoqueen and Pikachu.

Nidoqueen bothers me because you had a clear pattern going with both the evolutionary lines switching colours, and then it just broke, which is unsatisfying to say the least. One of the first things I did when I made a ROM hack was to change Shiny Nidoqueen because it bothered me so much.

(Left: Original, Right: My version)

Pikachu bothers me because it's one of the Shinies that barely changes. The thing that bothers me more about this than it normally would is that Pikachu is the series mascot. I understand that back then, the Shiny palettes were determined algorithmicly and were not hand picked, but you would think they would make an exception for Pikachu at least. By the time Gold and Silver came out Pikachu was already the face of Pokemon, so there's no excuse for having a bland Shiny. :P

(Left: Original, Right: My version)

When I changed it, I made the Shiny blue as an homage to the Pikablu myth that used to be a thing before Gold and Silver came out (when people saw early art of Marill, thought that they looked like Pikachu kinda and gave them the name Pikablu). Probably anything would be better than the "slightly different shade of yellow" that Pikachu actually got for their Shiny.
"The human sacrificed himself, to save the Pokemon. I pitted them against each other, but not until they set aside their differences did I see the true power they all share deep inside. I see now that the circumstances of one's birth are irrelevant; it is what you do with the gift of life that determines who you are." -Mewtwo

Instead of simply posting what I hate, I’ll post what I’d love to see, as well!

First up, we have Espeon. Some love it, some hate it, barely any have no opinion on it. I find it worse than its usual form. Personally, I would swap the purple for a pastel pink, and make the gem a cotton candy blue.

Next, Lurantis! Lurantis’s shiny color scheme is gold and puke green for those of you who don’t know, which I resent. They did her no justice. So, what I’d do is go for a nice, clean base, almost-white mint green, accented with navy and with evergreen eyes.
