oh... guess i'll leave... sorry Janna!

I can see why people would actually love sushi so much, even though it's not for me, at least after trying it out with friends! Now, I don't know if it was because I was slightly ill that day, or because I just wasn't used to it, but my experience was likely ruined, and I don't see myself eating sushi again... not for a good while at least :(

The raw fish to me, didn't really taste of anything, and yet had a very subtle and unpleasant flavor to it that you would only notice a bit later. The soy sauce it was accompanied to was probably worse though! It's like... I can't understand these flavors. But after hearing more about them from my friends and seeing them enjoy the food, I'm definitely less judgemental. Plus, I can always say I did try sushi!

I love all sushi!

Usually I’ll get the house specialty roll, those then to be pretty great. The only kind of sushi I’m not a fan of is any kind with cream cheese. I’ll eat it, but it’s my least favorite ingredient.

I'm not the biggest fan of vinegar and seaweed, so I can only have like a piece or two of sushi off my boyfriend's platter when he gets some. I can absolutely understand why people love it though.

We don't order sushi very often because
a) we don't go to restaurants that offer it
b) I forget I can grab some when I go grocery shopping
c) boyfriend feels guilty about getting it because it's usually $8-$12.

I've actually made homemade sushi like twice, a good 12 years ago. I remember not being very fond of assembly. The rice gets difficult. Hmm... maybe if we can figure out the best kind of fish for it, boyfriend would want to try it homemade... unfortunately we live in Kansas so it might be way easier to just pay grocery store prices.

I'll make a proper signature when Pokecommunity gets a proper slogan

Why would we talk about pie in a sushi thread? Sushi's gross.

I don't like sushi, most sea food to me is meh.

I can tolerate Fish and Shrimp to an extent. Sea food is a big thing where I live, so it's something I've been criticized for. But I just don't find any of that stuff to be enticing.

Sushi is one of my favourite things on the planet. I am vegetarian though and have been for the past few years and thus haven’t had it in ages. I miss it dearly.

Sushi is my favourite food! Back in HS I would always have sushi at least once a week, if not two to three times. We used to either go to the sushi train or our family's favourite Japanese restaurant because I would have tutoring classes at night and we'd grab dinner after. I love all sushi (sashimi is great too!) but I've always enjoyed any containing raw salmon, tuna or tofu in particular.

I love sushi, although I can't do wasabi. ><; Lately I've been really into avocado-heavy rolls, but you can never go wrong with salmon sushi either. And I'm always down for some sashimi, too. :D

I don't make sushi very often because it's kind of a pain to do the rice properly. I did make sushi with my brother when I visited him in California recently, though. It seemed more worth it because the fish was fresher, being near the coast and all. It was fun! It seems more worth the effort when it's a bit of a special occasion compared to everyday.

The best sushi I ever had was when I went to Japan and my brother and I went to this tiny little sushi place next to the Tsukiji fish market. ohhhh my gosh the fish was SO fresh. I've never had sushi so delicious and even thinking about it now, years later, has my mouth watering. ;_; I wish fatty tuna was as common here since it was definitely my favourite of the omakase, but it wouldn't be as fresh in my landlocked province so what's the point.

My favorite place in the world used to sell these huge california roll sushi for cheap, but they one day stopped selling them and I was devastated! ;_;
I only buy sushi once every couple of months now, but during that period I'd have it more every couple of days. My fav kinda sushi is unagizushi, but those are super pricey so I usually just go for the classic california, philly, veggie rolls, avocado rolls or salmon rolls. c:

Ah, I love sushi and sashimi! The best sushi I’ve had was from Nobu in NYC and omg it was incredible!! You’ve not lived until you’ve tasted proper, fresh fatty tuna.

I really just enjoy the simplicity of fish and rice, so rolls aren’t something I get at nice sushi places — but I’m not above picking up some eel and avocado rolls on the cheap lol. Anything in the spicy family is *chefs kiss* perfection too. (´∀`)♡

Sushi is the food of the Gods. Not enjoying seafood, raw or otherwise, is no excuse because there are so many variations like carrots, brown or black rice, cabbage, quinoa, lettuce, onions, cucumbers, avocado, cream cheese, chive, tofu, mango, peppers, snow peas, mushrooms. Sushi is so diverse that if you are willing to be adventurous you could be pleasantly surprised.

I used to have it almost weekly or at least monthly. It would just depend on how often I went out to eat. Because there's no scenario where I would not want to order it when at a restaurant. I haven't had sushi in a couple of months because I stopped eatting out during the pandemic, and this is the kind of the thing you must eat fresh. My last sushi meal was earlier in the summer. My mum was grocery shopping and in the deli some sushi was being made so she picked some up for me. Bless her darling heart!

Naming my favorite kind of sushi would be tough, I like all kinds. But there's a Japanese restaurant in my city that makes a mean tempura fried sushi with asparagus and sweet potatoes inside and has a delicious sweet ginger garnish for it. Temaki rolls are fun too-- they are ginormous. Sushi with pickled daikon is also tasty and twangy.

Sushi is my guilty pleasure.

I certainly have made my own before. It's work, especially getting the rice right. I also have a tendency to overstuff my rolls, but it's still good! I have an easier time with sushi's distant cousin the Vietnamese spring roll.
