Can you swim?

If not, have you considered learning? How often do you go to the beach/pool to swim?

I love swimming and I just did it a few hours ago.

Usually every day if the weather is nice enough.

I learned how to swim when I was like 12? I kinda forgot though because I never actually swam on my own... yes I leave near the ocean, but the beaches are dirty enough to get in the water and walk outside as the first X-Men.

Mom enrolled me in a summer swimming course. Nearly drowned thrice lmao. It just isn't for me I guess.

I taught myself how to swim when I was like 11 because I wanted to be able to fully enjoy hanging out in my mate's pool lol. Naturally, as a result of being self-taught, I'm not a very good swimmer and can only really do breaststroke with any degree of competence. I actually did take swimming lessons through my school when I was in grade 1, but I hated it so much I never went again after that year.

I used to swim competitively when I was younger. My family owns pretty huge swimming pool, so I'm in whatever I can and do at least 20 laps per day. I think I'll go there right now.

I’m an expert at the backstroke.

I learnt at school, had a weekly swimming class from 1st to 6th grade, and it's good for my back issues so I go swimming twice a week. Before (gestures at everything) all of this, I used to go three times a week, but pools were shut down from March to July and I'm just glad they are open, even if I have to ask for an appointment a week in advance to make sure there's only 12 people at the same time at any one hour.

Yes! I took swimming classes in early HS and in our state, primary schools make you do mandatory swimming lessons for at least a week every year? I liked swimming somewhat but then they moved classes to 7pm in the middle of winter outside. In a non-heated pool. So 13 year old me was out of there very quickly :D I'm not great at swimming but can definitely swim most styles somewhat competently (freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly etc.) I do remember thinking I was not a good enough swimmer when our HS threw us into the middle of an ocean one year for surf education though. I haven't gone properly swimming in years but I do like to stand in the ocean when we go to the beach which is a few times a year!

It's "mandatory" in WA too. But Mandatory in the way that if your parents say you're not going, you're not going. I honestly thought it was a national thing and not varied by state haha.

I first learned how to swim when I was in high school. During PE we have to go to the swimming pool for the first couple weeks . I didn't learn how to swim so some of the other students taught me for a bit. After that though, haven't put those teachings to use.

At one point my dad said he would teach me by us going to a lake nearby, but we never gotten the chance to do that haha.

There was a time long ago when I knew how, was a pretty strong swimmer, and used to do so frequently as I live close to a lake! I don’t think one forgets how to swim (like riding a bike, or so they say) but lord it’s been so many years.

If I didn’t have crippling body image issues, I probably still wouldn’t swim because I don’t know anyone with a private pool and the township put Agent Orange into the lake! :D

I can, but not quickly or for long.
I have zero stamina, I prefer to just float there.

My Mum used to take me to swimming lessons from a really young age and I love it! I usually only get to swim a few times a year though when on holiday, but there's something amazing about swimming out in the sea and pool's are really fun so it gets a big yes from me!
I have no idea. Is swimming like riding a bike? If it is, I can swim. But it's been 20 years since I last went swimming so I have no clue if I can still do it. I've never really had the time or opportunity to go swimming since I finished Primary School...and I definitely wouldn't go now because I have severe body issues and I cannot stand the idea of anyone seeing anything not my hands or face...and really, my face is too much as it is.

I was never a very good swimmer, though. I actually remember very clearly the first time I went to a public swimming pool in school. I was put in the highest group with all my friends because I was fine with the school pool...but I could touch the bottom of that pool. The public pool had a deep end. I jumped in and I freaked the psyduck out because I went straight under and I couldn't get back to the surface. I ended up sitting out the rest of the lesson and the next week I went right down to the second-lowest class. I enjoyed swimming, but I've never been fond of deep water >.>

I’ve been taking swimming lessons, and currently I can apply for the swim team once classes open back up.
