They can be GB and GBC roms as well. Yeah, you need to run them from VBA itself.

The correct format for Gameboy roms should be '.gba', '.gbc' or '.gb'. Sometimes '.rom'
If the format is '.zip' or '.rar' you need to extract them.

Then go:
Visual Boy Advance > File > Open > [SELECT ROM]

Either way, this is not allowed. Rom discussion is against rules. *reports*

Exactly this is agianst the rules.

Why don't you just buy the game.
Time for a lesson.

Roms are better than regular because you can run them faster than a regular GBA (If you have a good computer), DEFINITELY better if you have an emulator on a PDA, you can take screenshots, save states (Good in games such as LOGII and Buu's Fury), gamepad support (If you don't want to use keyboard and if you are sick of the GBA layout), wider screen (Unless you have an ultimately crap monitor). Do I need to go on?

Also, if you are in a case such as me when you're poor (Well I can afford a new game now. :p) it's cheaper. Unless of course you have dial-up and a crap ISP.

Batten down the anchors! Mini-mods ahoy!

Kindly direct me to the rule which states that one cannot discuss ROMs here. <_<;

@ Happy Dude: A direct quote from the rules:
Once someone has stated that they have reported a thread which should be closed, please refrain from posting in the thread until it has been dealt with by the staff.
However, you're breaking this rule by telling off another member for breaking the rules. Ironic, ne?

...Buuuuut anyway, enough b*tching from me.

First of all, that shouldn't make a difference if you're running them directly from VBA or not. You -don't- need to run them directly from VBA. Also, VBA automatically extracts ROMs from ZIPs and RARs.

I can't help any further, I'm afraid.

This needs to go in Emulation Discussion...but I think I might know what is wrong. You probably didn't patch the ips file to a rom yet. That is why it may not be working. PM me for more details.

And to everyone rom discussion is not against the rules. Posting roms are.
ROMs of any game, Pokmon or not, are prohibited. This is gone into greater detail in the ROMs section. Warez are prohibited. You cannot post cracked software, or post Serial Numbers.
This needs to be moved.
