Time is our most valuable asset yet many of us have been stuck in some kind of lockdown this year and some places are still under such restrictions. How have you passed the time so far?

For the first few months I did a good job of at least trying to exercise from home since my physical health was one of the few things I could control throughout this but eventually I lost motivation and haven't been very productive since. Not beating myself up for it though. I've enjoyed slacking off, watching more anime and dabbling in the Pokemon meta for the first time too.

So I started the year as a Graduate Software Developer. It was going pretty well until the work from home thing, which made it that much harder to talk to the more experienced developers for guidance and figure out what I was doing, so the pressure of working at 300% capacity just to not fall behind, and therefore the year, can be nicely summed up in this little Jeff that I made.

Yeah, my plans to get fitter and spend more time on hobbies went out the window by the second afternoon working from home.

I lost a bunch of friends because of my selfishness before.
And now I'm losing my step dad.

I really messed up my last semester when everything moved to online. My motivation fell apart and I didn't adjust well with the changes.

Now I'm taking less classes with this one, and hopefully it goes better.

I was visiting Iraq's Kurdistan Region when the world start to fall apart and we were almost stranded there when Turkey cancelled all inbound flights.

Once I got home it was a different America, aside from the hoarding at disaster times 🙄

But between then and now I've resumed normal life, excluding frequent international travel. Was supposed to be visiting Central Asia and Afghanistan the first two weeks of October and then South Africa in January but its all been cancelled. I created my own hack and just a few weeks ago, began the adoption process for my little boy. So even amidst the chaos of Covid and an election year, things are going okay...

A lot of exercise! Not having to commute means I have a lot more freedom with when I exercise and also being stuck at home because of quarantine has kept me very motivated to go out and run/hike. Also been able to help out with non-profit organisations during the pandemic and been working in general despite everything so am lucky on that front. A lot of watching films and reading books too, moreso than before! Oo and have rediscovered how much I like cooking. Plus hanging out with friends when I can via call (both real life and online friends) so a lot of just chilling and playing games or just chatting. I think I've become a lot more reserved so I only really hang out repeatedly with specific friends and kind of rarely see the rest. Online uni means I feel like I have more free time and its also just been a good time for self-discovery I think. It's pretty exciting trying to find new hobbies to get into. Have really learnt to enjoy being by myself during this pandemic whereas before I constantly felt that I was only having fun when with other people. :D

drawing, posting on forums, exercise, gaming. I'm self-employed/work from home atm so I've been mostly focusing on hobbies in my spare time. the good thing about quarantine and being home is that it really pushed me to work out more! and I'm proud to say I've been keeping up with it since February. :D
