I mostly only do it when someone posts something super insensitive or comments something unnecessarily mean on art for no reason. Like more of a defend the artist thing than anything else!
I really only started going there for pet advice when I had a few aquariums going, but i stayed for some of the other good things. r/leopardgeckos leopard gecko care guide is fantastic.
wow there really is a sub for everything huh? and heyoo it was in reddit that i learned about proper aquarium etiquette. as in, it needs to be a certain size for the fish to not suffocate.
Yup! Same! Pet store employees rarely know actual fish care, but I'm seeing an uptick in individual chain stores at least trying harder at good animal care in general.
good to hear that! there's this one pet store in a big mall in my area that literally puts their fish in small plastic cups. damn barbaric if you ask me...
I know, it's awful the way people treat fish.. It's like they think it's more of a decor item than a real creature with a life that deserves to thrive instead of barely surviving!
exactly. i used to feel indifferent about it back when i as unaware but now it makes me livid. i wish i had the balls to report them, but who'd actually care in our gov't system? :<
I just try my best to educate people about proper fish care and discourage people from getting smaller tanks. A larger tank can be so beautiful! If someone insists on a little bowl or something I usually suggest freshwater shrimps. Cherry shrimp are adorable and affordable!
right on! what are you thoughts on getting leeches as pets btw?

I love leeches!! They're really interesting to watch on video so I imagine having them in real life would be just as neat! I'm not sure if I'd self feed or keep animal blood for them though.
