Sorry if this is the wrong place to post this thread, but what the title says.

How does the Pokemon forum you are on right now compare to the other Pokemon forums you’ve experienced?
I… might put something interesting here eventually.

I don't use any other Pokemon forums, nor have I experienced many at all. Pokecommunity wins by default.

I will mention that I was active on another forum (non pokemon related) for over half my life. It's sentimental because I grew up on it, but it was nice leaving the extreme hostility.

gotta concur with the posts above. i will continue to say that it's a damn shame that this is one of the very few pokemon forums alive too, i think small forums have a sort of quaintness that much bigger forums don't have, which makes them kind of more interesting.

but from the ones i've used, i've really only stayed active on this one for years and years.

Maybe not comparatively, I've only been actively on the site for like a year and it has slowed down tremendously.

i can see why -- i think that pc's general activity kinda depends on how most ppl feel about pokemon overall. swsh is the biggest proof of that, being quite the polarising game, and hardly any news of bdps/legends:arceus doesn't help

more hype means more threads and more replies and more traffic. unfortunately, there's been quite a lack of hype lately.

Activity always goes up around the release of new Pokémon games, and down again when those games are older and people are no longer as interested in them. Repeat cycle. It's been this way here, and every other Pokémon forum, for a very long time. As someone who checks other Pokémon forums, that's pretty typical and we're doing very well compared to most haha. Can't really compare us to the likes of reddit or anything - it's a totally different type of community/environment.

I was just comparing to this time last year, I'm sure with lockdowns ending, people actually have stuff to do now though.

Yeah, this time last year was a special case with COVID, plus SwSh were newer with DLC that had new Pokémon/formes on the way.

The fandom as a whole has been quite stagnant due to lack of big news, with vocal fans being a bit unhappy with the direction Pokémon is going. Hopefully once we get some new info on BDSP and Legends people will feel a bit more confident and keen to discuss! At least that’s what I’ve gathered so far. Our fan game forums (the biggest draw to PC) also continue to do very well. The get-together (team-based event with lots of mini events to participate in) will also be starting soon so you’ll can take part in that if you are interested ❤️

The fandom as a whole has been quite stagnant due to lack of big news <----- This for sure. This is what I just don't understand, I have talked about this iin another thread as well, tpci has such a big opportunity here that they totally whiffed on. If they had done this year right, Pokemon hype could have been HUGE! I guess I'm just getting jaded at this point because it feels like they don't take advantage of stuff like this since they know Pokemon is so big at this point that their products will sell no matter what so they don't need to put very much effort into anything.

You know unite will be filled with microtransactions and that is why the game is being released, not for the love of the IP but those sweet sweet dollars baby!
