The Pokmon Artstravaganza - Entry Thread! (September Edition)

Discussion thread can be found here

Anyways, welcome to the entry thread where we give you a theme so that you can get to work on your entry XD.

Now only entries can go here, no moreif you want to change your entry then edit the previous entry and drop a note saying that you have changed it.

Now one contest every month with a different theme, person with the best art gets a prize at the end of the month!

Now for the first contest theme:

You know it, you love it!

Its Pokmon!!!

We chose this because everyone knew of it considering they joined a Pokmon boardbut there will be no more specific anime or games.

The first competition will last from today (2nd of September) to the end of the month (30th of September) Then a new contest will be announced next month along with the winnerswe warn you now that we will be a little off of schedule what with judging and all.

Another word, Judges can not enter and there is only one entry per person per month. So, get working and post your best Pokemon pics!!!

Judges are:

~*Strider*~
Forest Grovyle
Cybex Mewtwo
Kagome
Snapple

There will be a new entry thread each month but always the same discussion thread.

Have fun!

YAY my entry is done WAY ahead of time and I have no wish of changing it so my worries of finishing on time is over XD Though I didnt really worry in this one cause thanks to being active here I got ahead of it the first day I saw the Artstravaganza XD.

Here is my entry, The AcroBatic Flyogon
:Information:
No ref was used while drawing this flying pokemon cause I was making a 3D modle of it less then a month befor hand so the refs I used for that was still fresh in my mind, the shading was done compleatly out of no where and I just though how things looked when the sun was behind em.

The waves where done without a ref as well but I needed a little help with the clouds thanks to looking up at my own sky here, mostly all of the lineart came out well for me but I still think I need training befor I let this out for a full jump into contests any biger. It's also only been the Fourth time I'v done lineart in my PaintBBS Adventure. O_o please dont kill me for entering New like lineart XD.

The Rock cave was something I remembered from LoZ WW.
Hope I rank well: drops at door and runs off in hiding till the entries place on the 30th:

Hmm.. May as well, even though I know I'll lose. XD

I be entering a Banette using Shadow Ball! =3
Didn't use a ref, just drew what came to me. And that's pretty much it. And no, I do not have a scanner or anything, so I just took a pic of the sketchbook page with my cheap webcam. XD

And because the webcam is cheap, the pic became blurry.. so I had to outline it! :/

Yesh, and my image was also shrunken by Photobucket. *dies*

My entry, Gardevoir seen through a fish-eye lens.
I was always fond of these things, even if I don't own one XD

I thought of entering another Pokemon besides Gardevoir (because I always draw it), but I gussed I should enter with a Pokemon I love.

[edit] Nice, Photobucket didn't resize my entry... phew.

This will be a joint entry between MysticFlames and I. This was done with colored pencils. I did the coloring, MF did the sketch. So this would be considered "traditional art (colored)", yes?
A mere ten days after the Mending, a young knight of Valeron and a young ranger of Eos made a discovery that would change Alara forever.

decided for this contest to deviate from my usual trainer art and draw pokemon(am hoping there is a character contest someday) since im going on vacation and all i decided to do a quick and easy pic so here it is:

Shiney Metagross:

the Metagross itself was done in MS Paint then the lighting effects and resizing was done in Ulead PhotoImpact, simple quick and easy, but looks kicka**

O___O Wah! Finally I have finished my picture!! Oh... man this week I've had a ton to do for this picture, school, life, etc...! So tired........

Anyway, it's (obviously) a drawing of a family of Charmander defending their eggs. There's the mom protecting the two eggs, the dad fighting with the Arbok, and their first child biting Arbok. Yeah, um, the Arbok's a mother who needs to feed her two children (the Ekans).

To make it, I drew the lineart on paper first, with pencil and then felt-tip pen. Then I scanned it and colored it in Adobe Photoshop. I did it all by using the mouse and the paintbrush and airbrush without any fancy filters or anything. Occasionally I would use the smudge tool (like on the tail flames), and I of course used a separate layer for the background.

I tried something for the first time on this; texturing reptile skin. I looked at things on the Internet and stuff, and I concluded that the easiest way for me to try it would be to do a sort of cross-hatching thing. So I tried it. ^-^

I think that's about all I have to say about it. Erm, good luck to everyone!

Well I'm entering too
Note to JuJu: sorry sweetie, I just realized my secret picture is in too much of a beta form to even stand a chance in this competition.
Instead, I introduce to you all my original character Melissa who stars as one of the starting trainers in my one-day-to-be Pokemon game.
And yes, it was done completely by me, I did NOT hire a Japanese artist to cheat with. XD

Hope this doesn't deceive too many of you, cuz it deceived me.
And JuJu: this is MY anime-style character art.
