I would recommend David Banner.

Although he swears a lot in his songs, they all have some awesome beats. Plus, he's done a lot of songs with a lot of people. He's produced some songs as well. all in all, this guy is awesome.

Since Cybex got us to a start with rap I'll continue the trend...well sorta...

I recommend Damian Marley's new album, Welcome To Jamrock. I'm not even really sure what genre to put his music in because it is a hardcore hybrid of Rap/Reggae with other minor genres thrown in. What I do know, is this is one of my favorite albums of the year so far, and that is saying a lot considering I'm more a rock fan than rap, and that most of my favorite bands came out with amazing albums this year. (System of a Down, The Mars Volta, Queens of the Stone Age, Coldplay, Death Cab For Cutie, Foo Fighters, Audioslave, Mudvayne, Nine Inch Nails, Taproot, among others...) Damian Marley is of course Bob Marley's son, and you can definately pick up on some similarities between the two. Like I mentioned before, Damian brings more rap to the table than Bob ever did, but the sound definately comes together well. Unlike a lot of rappers, Damian rants about things that actually matter in the world. No tracks about packing heat, or some new bling, or new shoes, or getting shot or anything like that. The highlights on this album for me are Confrontation, Welcome To Jamrock, The Master Has Come Back, Pimpass Paradise, Move, For The Babies, and Road To Zion. Hope you all pick up the album. :P

"Welcome To Jamrock" Track Listing:
1. Confrontation
2. There For You
3. Welcome To Jamrock
4. The Master Has Come Back
5. All Night
6. Beautiful
7. Pimpass Paradise
8. Move
9. For The Babies
10. Hey Girl
11. Road To Zion
12. We're Gonna Make It
13. In 2 Deep
14. Khaki Suit

I'd like to recommend Coheed and Cambria ~
Just any song off of any CD of theirs is excellent ~
The guitars are ah-mazing and so are the vocals! <3 If you like AFI, Rush, or Yes! be sure to check them out~! (Even some of you Metallica fans out there will dig the guitar)

I've been obsessed with Tool for quite a few years now and I really believe you should listen to them. It's not the kind of music you dance to but it's the kinda music you chill to. ^^ There are alot of interesting things you can learn about Tool. Oh oh oh! If you want to increase your vocabulary while listening to music, then Tool is the band for you! =D...XD

Albums: I'd recommend Temples Of Boom from Cypress Hill, Greatest Hits from Guns N' Roses, and the 3rd FLCL OST (it's like a greatest hits of the first and second OSTs).

Movies: I'd recommend Willy Wonka And The Chocolate Factory, Scarface, The Boondock Saints, and Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children

I recommend The Game's album "The Documentary". Don't be fooled, it's really an album, not a documentary. They just named it that.

So, anyway, the main reason I recommend The Game's album is the background music, or some of you might call it, beat. I mean, Game doesn't just choose a random beat, he makes it go with the theme of the song. If he was rapping a serious or maybe sorrowful song (an example would be Dreams), he's have a slow beat. If he was rapping about a more upbeat song, he'd have a catchy beat (like the song Westside Story). And the other thing about the album is, it's not just The Game all the way. You'd be hearing from 50 Cent, Eminem, Faith Evans, and many other artists/rappers you all know and love. So get The Documentary today!

WARNING: Parental advisory, explicit content

Song List:
1. Intro
2. Westside Story ft. 50 Cent
3. Dreams
4. Hate It or Love It ft. 50 Cent
5. Higher
6. How We Do ft. 50 Cent
7. Don't Need Your Love ft. Faith Evans
8. Church for Thugs
9. Put You on The Game
10. Start from Scratch ft. Marsha of Floetry
11. The Documentary
12. Runnin' ft. Tony Yayo
13. No More Fun and Games
14. We Ain't ft. Eminem
15. Where I'm From ft. Nate Dogg
16. Special ft. Nate Dogg
17. Don't Worry ft. Mary J Blige
18. Like Father, Like Son ft. Busta Rhymes

I'm going to have to say 2Pac. Don't listen to him if you want catchy beats and Billboard chart-toppers but if you listen to his lyrics they are just powerful. He has a lot of great songs and if you listen to the lyrics and understand them you will love him.

And if you're looking for a movie to watch try renting Forrest Gump, it's a great movie.

Some songs by Pac:

Changes
Dear Mama
Keep Your Head Up
Ghetto Ghospel
Baby Don't Cry
One Day at a Time
Until the End of Time
Runnin'
Thugz Mansion
To Live and Die in L.A.

And he also has a "darker" side.
