gotta love these books. i rented eragon and it was soo good that i bought it shortly after i finished it :P which was about say 8 days.

I'm at about page mmm...420ish in eldest, and it's really hard for me to decide which is better, especially since i haven't finished the book yet. I still love it, it's no less awesome than eragon.

I think this is going to be a trilogy. At the point i'm at, there's no way it'll end in another 260 pages(curses!!). Anyone know what the title of the 3rd book will be? or just a guess if there's no news about it.

I read Eragon and absolutely adored it. <3 I'd strongly recommend it to anyone who's into a good sci-fi/fantasy novel. :33 I'm in the 400's as well in Eldest and so far I consider them to be fairly equal in quality.

Some of my friends always say Eragon's better than Eldest. I don't quite see why, because both books have their own climaxes and fight scenes and whatever else you need to make a book great. X3 So I think they're both great, but I won't know for sure until I actually finish Eldest. :33

Eragon was an excellent read, the best teen fantasy novel since Harry Potter. My girlfriend actually got to meet Christopher Paolini, that's how I became interested in it. I accidentally ruined her autographed copy. Anyway, I won't give a critical description of Eragon because if you've read it, you know full well it's good, and if you haven't, there's no explaining it.

I got about 200 pages into Eldest, but I gave it to the aforementioned friend as a gift and therefore have not finished it. It was getting excellent, unfortunately. Now I'll never know what happens.

I've read both. They're both amazing books, but Eldest is better in my opinion. When there were copies in my school's bookshop, they sold out in 5 minutes and I had to wait a week to get a copy. Then the record got smashed again by Ptolemy's Gate when some kid cried:

"Hey, the third Bartimaeus book!"

But Eldest is better, possibly better than the granddaddy of them all, the LOTR series and the Hobbit.

Can't wait for Empire(number 3's current title)!
