(this thread existed before i believe, so i guess this would be the revived version?)
To put it simply
snowboarding>>>skiing
in my opinion, it's much more fun(snowboarding that is). i don't like having those poles and having your ski fall off every time you fall. Other snowboarders would know what i'm talking about, tell me what you guys think about either.

I see what you mean, so you're more of a team person. As for competition, yes, there isn't much in normal everyday snowboarding that a kid like me and any other kids could really get into, but you musn't forget the winter olympics, racing, and "show-off" competitions.(i love watching that every year)

I voted skiing. Mainly because I enjoy it, and I have very bad experiences of being round boarders(they get in your way and make you bail out. It's like they've been playing SSX forever).

if you skateboard i recommend snowboarding, if you rollerskate/rollerblade then i suggest skiing(i rollerblade, but i chose snowboarding instead just cause i think it rocks that much). snowboarding is similar to skateboarding on snow and skiing rollerblading on snow(but skiing has the poles so it's more different)

I'm a skier at heart, been so since I'm six. Living in Colorado, it's not a matter of not liking boarders for being jerks, or boarders hating skiers for being jerks to them. We all have seperate arts, equally difficult to master in seperate ways. We both respect that, and you're just as likely to see a boarder hitting moguls as a skier hitting the terrain park. I just ski because that's what I'm used to and it offers me more mobility. Boarding is faster, I've found, having done some myself.

alright you boarders and skiers out there, time to discuss you most painful wipe-out(woohoo!).

I remember mine very simply--some kamikaze wacko dude ran into me at 35 mph and fricking knocked the wind out of me and made it hard for me to stand the rest of the day(so it's not really a wipe-out, just...KO!!)
