I apologize if this thread seems to be misplaced in the forum, thread making just isn't my thing. However, I'm desperate right now and surely I can't be the only one whom ran into this problem.
Before I begin, the basics:
I'm running on Windows XP Home Edition and my CD-ROM Drive is Lite-On LTR-52327S
One day, I checked around the 'My Computers' folder, and found that the CD-ROM Drive was missing. I merely shrugged and said that my computer was being an idiot again. Now, a day or two ago, when I actually needed that, I plopped in a CD program and nothing happened. Tried again, still nothing. Try it manually, driver is missing. I thought I was going to die. D: I've tried the following to restore it:
- Uninstalling the hardware, then rebooting.
- Try deleting the 'Upperfilters' and 'Lowerfilters' in the Registery Edit program.
- Cleaning out my computer.
- Tried searching for it, updating it, etc. through Device Manager.
A Code 41, I believe it tis'? *le sigh* I don't know where to go now. Has any of you guys ever ran into such a problem? Any suggestions, helpful information, or am I just screwed? Help...x_x;
