It's a toss up between Dan Marino, Joe Montana, Steve Young, and John Elway, but I choose Steve Young.

Montana holds post-season records for most career touchdown passes (44), and passing yards (5772) among others. In his four Super Bowls, Montana completed 83 of 122 passes 1,142 yards and 11 touchdowns with an impressive zero interceptions, earning him a quarterback rating of 127.8. He played in eight Pro Bowls. His success is a combination of Bill Walsh's highly successful West Coast Offense and Montana's uncanny ability to find the open man (often the third or fourth option)

He led the San Francisco 49ers to four Super Bowls (1981 season, 1984 season, 1988 season, 1989 season) and became the only player to win three Super Bowl MVP awards. In 1990, he received Sports Illustrated magazine's "Sportsman of the Year" award, and he was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2000.

For his career with the 49ers, Montana completed 2,929 of 4,600 passes for 35,142 yards and 244 touchdowns. He had thirty-five 300 yard passing games. His career totals: 3409 completion on 5391 attempts, 273 touchdowns, 40,551 yards. His career passer rating was 92.3, 3rd highest of all-time, behind Kurt Warner (still active) and successor Steve Young. He also rushed for 1676 yards and 20 touchdowns.

Well, I'm a 49er fan so I'll say Joe Montana, that guy was awesome. He led us to the Superbowl victories and him and Jerry Rice were awesome together.

John Elway would come in a close second for me and then Dan Marino with Steve at last.

Gotta go with Montana. This guy made me fall in love with the 49ers when I was younger. He was simply amazing. Ehh...Now I'm a Bucs fan, but he is still the best. XD

Out of the selections, I pick Joe Montana because he was the best during his run with the 49ers and nobody could touch him.

I just want to say this about Dan Marino. He was good. But he never won a Super Bowl. John Elway was close to not winning a Super Bowl, but the Broncos pulled it off twice before he called it a career.

They're all great that's for sure, they had this debate in my Madden '05 game lol, but you might as well add my favorite Jim Kelly to the mix, I mean he beat Elway's Broncos, Montana's Chiefs & Marino's Dolphins all in AFC Championship games he was one of the best quarterbacks to take advantage of the no huddle offense, it was showcased when he made the Hall of Fame. But there are other QB's that could take the role as one of the greatest like Terry Bradshaw, Roger Staubach or heck Payton Manning who has yet to finish his career. But I say all of the above are among the greatest whether you can determine it or not, they all made their mark in football as quarterbacks.

But as for me voting, I understand why people would pick Montana as the #1 and it's all good but stats never really could determined how great of a QB Dan Marino was, and he is very under-rated when it comes to greatest because of his stats. As much as I don't like Marino, I give him all the respect in the world my vote is with him.
